Greetings and welcome to another Wing III Report. Well this week was interesting. We had a lot of medals, promotions, and other things happening. Next week is finals for me, as I'm sure it is for other people, and I have to say I'm a little worried about certain classes. Also, I have a plan to give you all a little incentive to recruit so we can bring our numbers back up. Have I gotten your attention? Good, then let's get down to it!

Promotions and Position Changes
LT Linoge has been promoted from FM status in Hey Squadron to FL status in Beth Squadron. Good luck LT!
LT Marine Ross has been promoted to the rank of LCM for his high level of activity.
LCM Arcanian Stirner has been promoted to Commander for his excellent leadership and activity.
LT Zekk Thyne has been promoted to LCM for his activity and example.
LT Tetragon has been promoted to LCM for doing a great job as pilot in Gimel Squadron.
LT Syntax has been promoted to LCM for being an excellent officer.
SL Tissaya Argat has been promoted to LT for doing an INRP.
CM Var Zoraan has been moved to the reserves at his request. We'll miss you, Var.
CPT Neo Tarrik has been AWOLed. Just one of the many reasons we need to get on recruitment. More on that later.
We have two new pilots, SL Gavin Shard and LT Tissaya Argat. Welcome both of you, have fun in Wing III and Daleth and Gimel respectivly.
Medals
LT Sam Booker, LT Willow Whizzkid, LT Mordred and CPT Cal Sinis have all joined the ranks of those with Commendations of Bravery. You too can get one if you fly more than 30 missions, so no reason not to have one.
CM Arcanian Stirner has received a Medal of Tactics Green Hammer for designing XWA-FREE #44. I'll have to fly it when I have time, and I urge you all to do the same. I'm sure Commander Stirner did an excellent job and it should be a fun mission to fly.
CPT Cray Mikalen has been awarded a Medal of Tactics Blue Hammer for correcting XWA-TC #26.
LCM Tetragon received an IS-BW for getting first place in the Gimel Ace Competition. Great flying!
CM Autoris Maximus has been awarded an MoI for helping train SL Gavin Shard.
LC Jahan Kalar has been awarded a Bronze Star for being a good Wing Commander. "Good Wing Commander, have a medal." ;)

Orders
You have until December 21st to e-mail (eh_halcyon@hotmail.com) with your TIE Mission that you design as the part of the Mascot Power Battles. This mission must include our mascot in some way, it doesn't have to be a major part of the mission, but include it in some way.
You have until December 26th to compete in the Mascot Power Battles Fiction Section. Any type of fiction will do, stories, poetry, jokes. It must include at least our mascot, and possibly others and they have to be major characters or themes. Portrayals of the mascots must be accurate. If you have any questions about the mascots, ask me or your squadron commander.

As you can see, we are slightly in the lead. But we need to do well in the next two rounds to keep our lead. So don't slack off now, we can win this thing. And if we do, you all get a round from me in the bar!
You have until tomorrow (December 15th) to submit to me your competition design ideas. Remember that the competition can be anything, but it must be for the whole Wing. If you win, we do your competition and you get a nice IS:SR. So get those ideas in!
Keep flying for the FCHG competition. We're doing pretty well, so just keep flying.
Wing III News
Aleth has a poetry competition going on. Very creative idea, you can read more about it here (http://www.imperialacademy.org/compdetails.asp?ID=1038).
I'm doing a few things with the webpage, including changing the server. If it seems like I spend a lot of time doing this, it's just your imagination. That brings me to a new competition that will be coming up soon, read more below.
CM Josh Popelka, Hey Commander, is almost done with his finals (pfff, taking time off for tests) so he will be returning soon to take command back.
There is going to be (hopefully) a recruitment competition starting very soon. Read more below.
Recruitment Competition
So, since the last report we have 1 more pilot, but that's not enough. We need to step up our efforts even more. So...with that in mind, I decided we need a recruitment competition. This isn't official yet, but it will (hopefully) be very soon. The idea is simple. Every time you recruit someone and they say you helped them with training, you receive an MoI (Medal of Instruction). Whenever you do, I know. So, for two months starting on December 20th going to February 20th I will count the number of MoI's each of you receive. Each counts for a point towards you and your squadron. The person with the most points (and most recruits) at the end of those two months will receive an IS:SR (subject to change after the competition is officially okayed) and the squadron with the most points will receive the honor of being Wing Commander's Own until another squadron takes the crown (more on that below). So get ready to recuirt like crazy on the 20th.
Webpage Banner Design Competition
I have yet to completed this competition idea, but I would like some banners for the Wing III webpage, and my graphics skills leave much to be desired. Basically I'm looking for banners to go where all the blue/gold box titles (like Navigation, Wing Strength, etc) are now. I'd also like some kind of replacement for the whole top part of the website, like some big banner like we have for the Message Boards. I can handle all the HTML, I'm just looking for the graphics. I'll give you a better idea of when the graphics are due and what you will get (think IS:SR) once I get it approved. But you can get working now. Good luck.

Other Stuff

Got Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. I'll let you all know how it is once I actually play it. But it's supposed to be good.
Saw Pearl Harbor again on DVD. Good movie if you have three hours to devote to it.
