WING REPORT #5
Wing IX, ISD Relentless
“The Fighting Ninth”

TIE CORPS NEWS: Wing XX is still looking for a WC. They’ve got some additional requirements for the job, and you also have to be in the DB. An intro crest of the EH for XWA mission designers has also been released. The TAC Office will now hang you over boiling oil by your private parts if you skip missions. In all seriousness, though, you should NEVER skip a mission unless it’s due to a bug that has been reported on the Battle Board. Your WC reports, you decide. For the latest information, check out http://www.tiecorps.org/news.asp.

WING NEWS: Work on revising the Ship Standing Orders is well underway. The COM and I hope to have them done by next week. If you’ve got any comments here, send ‘em along!

PRIORITY BRAVO-ONE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, which the COM will explain, we have decided to relocate the official IRC/Undernet channel of Wing IX and the ISD Relentless. The COM and I have suggested the name #stardrifter. If this is agreeable to all of you, we will establish the new channel. If you don’t agree, let us know before Monday morning. After that, it’s too late. Don’t forget: #stardrifter – yes or no for the name of the new official IRC/Undernet channel of Wing IX and ISD Relentless.

PRIORITY BRAVO-TWO: The Wing IX Top Gun competition is underway! The mission was sent out to all Wing pilots, and participation is strongly encouraged. For those of you who may have missed it, we’re using FTIE 114. The Battle Center version does NOT include a .lfd. If you need one, let me know. The winner will be awarded the IS (SW), with the runner-up getting the IS (BW). All scores will be laserless, and will be tabulated on a pilot-by-pilot basis. That means if you want to win, you’ve got to fly. The Top Gun ends on December 10, so get those scores in!

On a sad note, MAJ Da’emon Narshay was declared AWOL this week. MAJ Narshay had been out of contact with us for over two weeks. Hopefully he’ll be able to return once his RL situation gets sorted out, assuming that’s what forced him to drop contact. CM Argyle Ironfist is A-CMDR of Spear, pending the appointing of a new CMDR. We are NOT accepting applications for this opening. Sorry, lads.

I didn’t want to declare MAJ Narshay AWOL, but a squadron commander cannot afford to drop out of sight for over two weeks. CMDRs in Wing IX are expected to lead by example.

There’s been a slight delay in announcing the winners of the WCO banner/plaque competition. The recommendations will be made, and winners announced, by Wednesday. It’s a tough choice, but well worth the wait.

The Wing Message Board is up and running! I’ve started a run-on there, and encourage you all to add to it. There’s also an active, testosterone-laced thread about the WCO. Thanks to CM Mosh, we’ve also got a camouflage background that can best be described as “space-urban.” Might look good on the Wing’s fighters…

I’d also like to thank CM Mosh and LCM Neko for helping me test the Wing training missions. Two down, four to go!

Perhaps the most shocking development is…the WC has been seen on IRC!

One final note: CHEATING! DON’T DO IT! It’s been proven to cause acne in lab rats, as well as a really bad rash once the chain of command gets done chewing on your backside. It’s also a one-way ticket OUT of Wing IX. We will not cheat, nor tolerate those among us who do.

SQUADRON ACTIVITIES: The Wing is involved in the Top Gun Competition, although some CMDRs are looking at setting up some outside comps.
