Wing News

(Note: Any replies to anything in here should be made to the Colossus Egroups at (ISD-Colossus@yahoogroups.com) or me individually at (absolutv@isdcolossus.com).

Well lots of stuff has been going recently. We've managed to bag ourselves a work load from hell. Meaning we had like 6 different comps going on at once, the whole time while we were waiting the results from the ECR phases 1, 2, and 3 rounds. Apparently our beloved BGCOM has now resigned and kind of left this in the dust. However, VA Mell has taken it upon himself to restart the ECR shambles and get it back on track to being finished. It would seem the ISD Relentless has backed out of ECR leaving it to be decided between 3 ships now. Dunno why this has happened, cuz they were tops in their efforts last time ECR was here.

The Flight Officer still hasn't yet decided who is to be the new BGCOM, but has stated that the BGCOM will be announced when he decides. AD Adrenaline will be sorely missed here. She was a fine TC Officer and a good friend. But just like the rest of us her RL came first and found she wouldn't have much time for the TC in doing so. So we send her off to the Phoenix so she will be able to continue her RL snowboarding program. On behalf of the Colossus we thank AD Adrenaline for all she has done for us.

Several of our comps have since been finished. E.G. the Ship motto and nickname comp the winner was LCM Alain Dindareanu. His winning nickname and motto was:
"Imperial Eternity"
"Always defending the Empire in the first line of battle"
Good job AD!

The runner up was LC Drake. His nickname and motto was:
"The Dark Destroyers"
"Destruction on Demand"
Good job to him as well.

Next we have 2 more Wing comps. Wing VIII vs Wing XI which is soon to be over by tomorrow I believe. The mission to fly is FREE-XWA #28, so if you have XWA and gaven't flown it yet, then I suggest you go fly it ASAP! and turn that pilot file in. The next one we have is yet another battle with Wing V. Somewhere someone claimed that we said they are weak and getting old so there activity was faultering. Well that sarcastic set of words was met with a challenge from them to see whos activity is better. The challenge was accepted by me and the details were set. Battle to fly is TIE-TC #169. So if you haven't flown it then get hot. We need 12 top flyers to help us win this comp.

ISDCA #2 has been completed. The winner for this round was CM Saadam our newest member recently reporting aboard. LC Drake took the runners up. Once again we had a decent turn out, but it could have been slightly better. But I send my thanks to all who entered, we had fun. As soon as the ECR is finished ISDCA #3 will be set to start. So ya better get your fighters ready!

Lastly, the HGK comp is in full swing. All candidates have all but completed the round and the results will be posted soon. Myself and CM Aidan Pryde are getting everything together to announce the winners. So stay tuned to this Col channel and of course the news page

Colossus Standing Orders
Colossus Standing Orders
Standing Order #1: (RL) Real Life first!
Of course the first and foremost thing is RL. It is highly recommended to take all RL matters first and before all ship functions, unless you just don't care. I would like to enforce this order to all members. But please be reminded that you should inform your superiors of any situation so that we can count you on LOA, and don't forget to mark your profile stating your on Leave. Even if your only going to be on leave for 2 days, please mark your absence. This way if it takes longer than we know where you are and won't count you as MIA/AWOL.

This has been shortened for you. The rest maybe seen on the ISD Colossus website.

ISDCA - ISD Colossus Ace Competition Round #2
Is completed. CM Saadam took the Top Honors and thus is dubbed the ISDCA champ for this round! Good job Commander!

Hall of the Grand Knight - (HGK):

Has started and the first round almost finished, results posted soon. Be sure to vist the HGK website at Hall of the Grand Knight the results and the next set of matches will be posted there as well.

Command Changes

None

Shopping List

There are two right now. We got:

  1. TIE-TC Battle #169 - The Rooster Trap
  2. XWA-FREE Battle #28 - Rain Down Retribution
Both of these are for comps so if nothing else do these first!

Lastly, like I said before, if you want some easy medals, then go fly. I have in the past awarded, ISMs for flying 20+ missions, PCs for flying 40+ missions, and BSs for flying 80+ missions. So if your game for a medal then go fly, its not hard just takes a little of your time and patience. Medals for the past week will be awarded after I submit this report as I will be submitting them right after :P

Reviews

Egroups
Things are picking up a bit now, school must be easing up a bit. So come one lets pick up the chatter and fill those e-mail boxes. A small reminder to the CMDR's, is you need to make sure that everyone is part of their egroups to ensure they get all mail sent to them. Just make sure you CC VA Mell on all communiqués. I don't want him being left out! Remember if you reply to this Wing Report you will need to contact me via my e-mail at: LC Absolut Vodka (absolutv@isdcolossus.com) or simply add the Colossus egroup addy at (ISD-Colossus@yahoogroups.com) to the TO: line. I can't express this enough. Because if your reply is trivial then the others don't need to see it, as well as being personal.

IRC
This is a better means of chat among our members. Things are picking up but lets get some of our newer members on-line IRC, however, things are picking up, really! Unfortunately my time on-line has been cut short to mostly weekends, as I have lots do to. Lastly, make sure you use the undernet when you sign on, then go to Channel #isd_colossus. This is where you'll find the most talkative of the Wing :)

Message Boards

Go post! ISD Colossus Message Board. I've made a few posts have you?

Colossus Website

Absolut Vodka has done a beautiful job (pats himself on the back) redoing the Colossus website. You should stop by and see it if you haven't already. Just click here -----> ISD Colossus. Feel free to submit any comments or critism to me at my e-mail address. If you don't know it then I suggest you go find it :P

Academics

  1. "8" IWATS courses passed by Colossus Pilots this week..
    • Dave Darklighter ----> AIM, XAM
    • Phalk Sturm ----> IIC/1, IIC/2
    • Wap Eal ----> ASP
    • Executor ----> IIC/1, XTT, TM
  2. Looks like noone got awarded an ISM again this week. IWATS courses for the Colossus is picking up again, I'm glad to see it. It shows that our pilots are working towards being more knowledgeable. If an ISM sounds cool to you then we can help you get an easy ISM. Just apply yourself for a few minutes of your day and do 4 IWATS courses for the week and you'll get one too! But they must be completed and passed within the reporting week or it doesn't count :P And CMDR's don't forget to try and atleast get those who you think will be promising Officers for the future to take the SM/2 course.

BSF STATISTICS
Okay here we are at the heart of the Wing. The things we've all waited all month to see. Well maybe you don't want to see it but here it is anyway :P . But just remember, don't cheat to get that high score, as it will put your career in danger, trust me. Now onto the overall stats for the Wing.

  1. Colossus totals for November thus far:
    • Total BSF's: 214
      Total Missions: 902 <---almost there!
  1. Colossus final totals for October:
    • Total BSF's: 234
      Total Missions: 1,019

Looks like we're trying to catch and surpass our October goal. Can we? Lets see what happens. Squadron and pilot breakdown coming up.

  1. Top 5 Pilots of the Week
Looks good this week lots of flying was done. Here are the Top 5 Pilots for the last week showing off their BSF stats:

    3. CM Phalk Sturm: 4 BSF's, 23 missions
    4. CM Saadam: 6 BSF's, 23 missions
    5. LT Talas: 4 BSF's, 22 missions

My congratz to CM Wap Eal in winning the POW (Pilot of the Week)! He took it away and made an outstanding show this past week! MAJ Zystem Fryar was close but just couldn't pull it off! Good job!

Congratz to MAJ Zystem Fryar for being the Top Gun for October. Keep up the good work.

Top Squadron of the Week
I have to say congratulations to Eta Squadron, as they take the SOW (Squadron of the Week) award again! They did it by flying for: 21 BSF's and 95 missions so far. Outstanding activity guys! Will they manage to get WC's own next month? Stay tuned its starting to heat up!

Top Squadron of the Month for October
Everyone congratulate PI Squadron! I think they broke a few squadron records now with an overall 452 missions for the month of October. No one even came close to touching this mark. It seemed that getting Squadron of the Month was a real pressing issue for PI. Now that they have gotten it I wonder what their goals will be now? But getting the SOM earns them the right to the WC's Own award for October. Great Job!

Rats Extermination
Have to wait until next round

Squadron Summaries

Once again the final rankings of the squadrons for November. Wanna see how your squad is holding up? Listed with them is the amount of BSF's and missions they did over the month. Take a look below at the order they have performed during November thus far:

  1. Eta Squadron: 64 BSF's, 309 missions
  2. Pi Squadron: 58 BSF's, 275 missions
  3. Nu Squadron: 33 BSF's, 145 missions
  4. Mu Squadron: 28 BSF's, 71 missions
  5. Omicron Squadron: 19 BSF's, 64 missions
  6. Iota Squadron: 12 BSF's, 38 missions
Well there ya have it. Eta taking it for the second time in a row. They have an outstanding show this month so far. However, PI is right on their butt's, I'm wonder they'll hold out long enough to take WC's Own? Or will they give up the fight and let PI whose on their heels take it again? Finally we see a fight for the top honors :). Stay tuned to the Colossus network, as it can only get better!

Miscellanous

The Wing is still pumping out a decent performing this month! Even though the ECR is on the brink of finishing they are still holding tuff. Lots of different things are going on, and quite a few major Wing comps. As long as everyone does their part we'll have a good fight. You guys are great lets keep it up. For the Empires sake don't ever give up, always keep fighting.

Also I noticed that some of you have considered doing or have put together your squadron reports in a HTML form like I did. This is a good thing which can be viewed by all members of the ship. I would suggest to all of you who do reports to do the same. As it makes for an easy template for follow up reports later down the road. the only thing is if you do so, make sure you remember to attach your HTML file to the mail when you send out your report mail. Otherwise I'm gonna get ya! Cuz I need to see it to read it :P as well as the rest of us. If you don't know how to do HTML or any other form of web programming, then go to the Imperial Academy website and take a course. There they have enough information to make you all dangerous. Good luck!

It goes with out saying, that if I missed something let me know. Theres alot of stuff going on so its quite possible I have forgotten. So don't be shy just tell me its okay really! Thats all for this week, Until next week, stay safe, be aware, and by all means WHAT YOUR SIX!

Relevant News in Detail
TIE Corps Battlegroups Commander Resigns
10:54 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
Over the weekend, Admiral Adrenaline announced her decision to resign as TC Battlegroups Commander due to increasing RL work. Adren was undoubtedly one of the hardest working members of the EH and held in high respect by all. I'm sorry to see her go, and we're definitely losing one of our finest Officers. I will not be taking applications for a new BGCOM, so please don't send one. Adren's replacement will be selected in the next couple of days.

War Manual Online
10:40 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
From the WO, Vice Admiral Pel:
I'm pleased to announce that the Fleet Commander and Executive Officer have approved the new War Manual, and it can now be found in the War Office at http://www.tiecorps.org/wo/ (thanks to the XO for hosting). The WM contains all the information you'd need for playing wargames using XWA. I've also started playing testing some new rules and modifications, and I'm looking for people to help out. If you're intestested, please email me at Palinathas@aol.com.
