TIE CORPS NEWS: Command changes galore! A new XWA battle involving the much-feared Tug has also been released. For the latest information, check out http://www.tiecorps.org/news.asp.

WING NEWS: Due to events in the Battlegroup, the BGC has been put on hold. That means that Phase IV has faded into the background for the time being. That gives us a chance to get on with our own Wing competitions as well as getting the Wing Commander’s Own off the ground. Results from earlier Phases, as well as the completion date for the BGC as a whole, will be announced as soon as we hear anything.

The competition to design a banner for the WCO as well as a permanent award plaque was announced earlier this week. All entries should be sent to me, cc’ing your squadron commander if appropriate. You might also want to include RA Zadash. The competition closes November 30, so get busy! Medals will be awarded to the winning designers. All entries will be judged by myself and RA Zadash. Two submissions for the plaque have already been submitted. Keep in mind that the WCO banner should be geared to the Wing Commander’s Own competition.

On the subject of the WCO, I’ve sent a rough points schedule around to all the squadron commanders. If I don’t get any comments by Monday, I’ll assume that the points are fine and things will go forward. I’ve already heard from one of you, which is good. The WCO is designed to take in all activity in a squadron, and is also heavily slanted towards having competitions with other units. The first formal WCO will be held in December, but we’ll be testing the system during the rest of November. I’ll make an announcement when the test period begins, so commanders get your people ready and issue some challenges. We’re doing the test to catch any flaws that might remain in the system. Come December, it’s all for real.

The Commander of the Month and Pilot of the Month are also both back. This time they’re selected by RA Lohr Zadash himself, with input from me. The Squadron of the Month will be the squadron that wins the WCO each month.

I’d also remind every pilot that you’re now part of the best Wing in the TIE Corps. I’ve seen nothing that would change my opinion on this. But talk is cheap. We need to PROVE that we’re the best, both to the doubters out there and to ourselves. This can be done through challenges and competitions, by submitting stunning graphics or outstanding pieces of fiction to the NL, or by racking up high scores on missions and battles. There are many out there who do doubt what this Wing can do. It’s up to US to prove them wrong.

One final note: CHEATING! DON’T DO IT!

SQUADRON ACTIVITIES: Each squadron in the Wing now has a commander. I’d say we’re pretty much in fighting trim now. We could use a few more people, though. Commanders, do what you can to recruit. Maybe a post on the Recruiting Forum. I looked at it the other day and saw it was clogged by some units trying to give away kangaroos… Until we get our own public message board, we need to advertise our presence somehow, and this looks to be the best forum we’ve got.

Sword: LC Ted’s added another SL to his roster. Join me in welcoming SL Jaydar to the fleet! Sword remains quiet for now.

Spear: MAJ Da’emon Narshay has assumed command in Spear, and is working up some standing orders and other activities. He’s also submitted a new Wing banner.

Hammer: CAPT Jaruus is running a Top Gun competition in Hammer, which ends on the 18th. His message board has also been very active. Drop by the TIE Corps Message Center and leave your mark. He’s also got the most active pilot in the Wing. I think we all know who she is…;-)

Shield: Pavz’s squadron has been balanced in its activity, with flying, IWATS courses, and even a medal. He’s also gained another flight member: everyone join me in welcoming LCM Bizzare (a veteran of the Colossus) back to the fleet!
