TIE CORPS NEWS: The TC says goodbye to one of our own as Sector Admiral Kowalski steps down from the office of XO. The former TO is stepping up to assume the duties of XO, although K will remain for a short time as Fleet Systems Engineer until data has been transferred. Godspeed, SA Kowalski. Wing IX wishes you well and thanks you for your outstanding service to the TIE Corps and Emperor’s Hammer.

In other news, the recent FCHG battle competition winners have been announced and posted. More new missions for people to fly! The “Prelude to Andevia” competition has begun as well. This looks to be any interesting event with something for everyone. I’m counting on seeing a heavy Wing IX presence in this one. Your WC reports, you decide. WING NEWS: It’s been a week of awards and command changes here in Wing IX. Congratulations first of all to our new PC and ISM winners! As for CMDRs, CM Mosh has stepped up to command Shield, a Squadron that he’s valiantly served as FM, FL, and A-CMDR. CM Steve Sunrider has taken on Spear Squadron, and good things are looked for here. With LC Ted’s impending move from CMDR of Sword Squadron to a FL position due to RL time constraints, a decision has also been made regarding Sword’s future CMDR. It will be formally announced once it’s official, but you can rest assured that Sword will be getting a veteran who is capable of filling Ted’s shoes.

*COMMAND OPENINGS*: I’m no longer accepting applications for CMDR of Crossbow, but I still need two FLs. See below for more on this.

CROSSBOW SQUADRON: For those of you who might have missed the earlier announcement, we are in the process of reopening Crossbow Squadron. Once a CMDR and two FLs have been selected, we’ll petition the FO to reopen Crossbow. We will also be accepting internal transfers should any of you wish to move once the Squadron’s open.

MULTI-PLAYER: I’d like all Wing IX members who are capable of multi-player operations (XvT or XWA) and interested in such events to let their Squadron Commanders know. I’m thinking of designating one or two Squadrons as “multi-player capable.” You’ll still be TIE squadrons, but will be capable of taking part in MP competitions and events. This should widen our activity. CMDRs, I’d like to hear from you about this soon. Let me know if your Squadron’s capable of MP and if you’d like to be designated as one of our MP-Capable Squadrons. Now that the WCO counts LoCs awarded for TC-sanctioned events, this could be a good way to add to your totals.

We’ll be officially kicking off a trivia contest next week. Look for a weekly trivia question to be posted on the Wing IX Message Board.

I had a question recently about Wing IX’s ETU (Elite Task Unit). This is a project of the COM’s, and I can’t accurately comment on its status. The ETU concept continues to be developed, as far as I know, and should play a role in the Wing’s operations in the coming weeks. I’ll leave it to VA Zadash to comment more fully on the ETU and its operations.

One final note: CHEATING! DON’T DO IT! It’s been proven to cause acne in lab rats, as well as a really bad rash once the chain of command gets done chewing on your backside. It’s also a one-way ticket OUT of Wing IX. We will not cheat, nor tolerate those among us who do.

SQUADRON ACTIVITIES: With the command changes and all, most of the squadrons have been fairly quiet aside from routine flying duties.
