WING REPORT #11
Wing IX, ISD Relentless
“The Fighting Ninth”

TIE CORPS NEWS: The usual antics in the TC this week. We’ve had a birthday, some command changes, a squabble or two on the message boards. The usual stuff…;-)

There are currently two positions open in the TIE Corps to applications from the general membership.

The first of these is the position of Wing I WC. Applicants are expected to be able to meet the WC requirements as listed in the Training Manual. In addition, familiarity with both TIE and XWA is required, as well as absolute reliability. All applications should be sent to Fleet Admiral Priyum and Vice Admiral Proton with Wing I Application in the subject of the email.

The second position is that of Praetorian Commander. Applicants are expected to meet all the usual requirements of the Squadron Commander. Some experience as a Commander is essential. Membership in the Intel Division is not required, but as Prae CMDR, you will be expected to work with them. Remeber that Praetorian is an Elite Squadron, and as such, a high standard will be required from those interested. Applications for this position should be sent to Fleet Admiral Priyum and Rear Admiral Jordynn with Prae CMDR Application in the subject of the email.

The “Prelude to Andevia” competition has begun as well. This looks to be any interesting event with something for everyone. I’m counting on seeing a heavy Wing IX presence in this one. Your WC reports, you decide. For the latest information, check out http://www.tiecorps.org/news.asp.

WING NEWS: Join me in welcoming CAPT Trow as Sword Squadron’s new CMDR! Trow is another of Wing IX’s veterans whose time has come.

PRIORITY ALPHA-ONE: The Battlegroups’ “Highlander” competition has begun! The mission has been changed to Free-TIE 188, and the due date rolled back to midnight GMT this coming Tuesday. I expect to see each Wing IX Squadron involved in this round move on to the next, so get flying! If for any reason you can’t fly, report in to your CMDR ASAP! This is OUR time to kick some tail! I might even have to dig out my old copy of TIE disk so I can fly with Hammer. In case you’ve lost the priority scale, participation in this competition is REQUIRED.

PRIORITY BRAVO-TWO: The Wing Top Gun competition will begin on Monday and run until the following Monday (January 21-28). The mission to be used is FT148 (which is attached to this report). As usual, the winner is the pilot with the highest laserless score submitted before the end of the competition. Last month LCM Dupuy of Hammer Squadron was the Top Gun. Who will take the honor this month? An Iron Star (Silver Wings) waits for the winner, with an Iron Star (Bronze Wings) for the runner-up.

PRIORITY BRAVO-THREE: The Wing IX Trivia contest has begun! The first question is posted on the official Message Board. Go post your answers!

CROSSBOW SQUADRON: A prospective CMDR has been selected for Crossbow, but we still need two FLs. If you’ve got any interest in serving as an FL in a new Squadron, get in touch with your ever-lovin’ WC. If I don’t hear from anyone soon, I’ll be forced to recruit outside the Wing.

MULTI-PLAYER: I’d like all Wing IX members who are capable of multi-player operations (XvT or XWA) and interested in such events to let their Squadron Commanders know. I’m thinking of designating one or two Squadrons as “multi-player capable.” You’ll still be TIE squadrons, but will be capable of taking part in MP competitions and events as a unit. This should widen our activity. CMDRs, I’d like to hear from you about this soon. Let me know if your Squadron’s capable of MP and if you’d like to be designated as one of our MP-Capable Squadrons. Now that the WCO counts LoCs awarded for TC-sanctioned events, this could be a good way to add to your totals. And I’m going to keep announcing this until I hear from CMDRs….;-) Right now, it looks like Hammer might be our first MCS.

On a related note, there’s talk of organizing an MP training event to take place on Thursdays at 10pm GMT. Sound off on this. Do you think it’s a good idea or not?

Just to clear the air, the Pilot/CMDR/Squadron of Month should be returning to the Relentless very soon.

One final note: CHEATING! DON’T DO IT! It’s been proven to cause acne in lab rats, as well as a really bad rash once the chain of command gets done chewing on your backside. It’s also a one-way ticket OUT of Wing IX. We will not cheat, nor tolerate those among us who do.

SQUADRON ACTIVITIES: With the command changes and all, most of the squadrons have been fairly quiet aside from routine flying duties.
