So congrats to Wing II on winning the last round of Ford's Mascot Power Battles, and thanks to everyone who participated. (/me makes a mental note never to judge the T/F part of any of Ford's comps again :P)
So now I have got everything as it should be,what are the final scores on the board, COL Ford ?
It's been a long and ardurous journey to reach the end of the Mascot Power
Battles. Pilot performances of the highest caliber, name-calling,
trash-talking and mascot brawling have been some various definitive points of
this competition. Although the short list of contenders was established
early on, most of the wings continued scrapping hard far into the
competition, as evidenced by many high marks on the TIE portion of the comp.
Before Ford gives the results, he would like to thank all the Sov WCs who put
in the effort and time to judge, as well as those who motivated their wings
to excel in participation. Well-done!
So, the results!
In sixth place, licking his shorted fuses, tenderly poking his gaping
metallic holes and attempting to maintain what's left of his feathers is the
Wing V Robotic Eagle! Wing V finished with 25 total points in the
competition.
In fifth place, nursing his mangled mojo and consoling himself with a
half-eaten Reservist is the Wing VI Wacky Wampa! Wing VI finished up with
227 points.
In fourth place, already chain-smoking and complaining about 'rigged events',
the always bitter, sardonic and beloved TK-1512 of Omega Squadron! Omega
represented themselves well with 319 points.
Now, the top three...
In third place, rubbing some IcyHot on his wounds, the still-belligerent
Sergeant Bash the Judo Yoda of Wing III! Wing III held the second place spot
until the very last event, and rounded out the competition with 556 total
points.
In second place, trying to fix a few shorted circuits is Harold the Insidious
Interrogation Droid of Wing IV! Harold and Wing IV stormed back after
falling behind in the middle portions of the comp, and came close to taking
the top spot with a heroic effort in the TIE division. The IVers finished up
with an impressive 952 points.
Finally, in first place, the winners of the Mascot Power Battles, the
battered, bruised but victorious Mariachi MiniFords of Wing II!
::: The Sov explodes in a hideous cacophany of wild yells and castanets :::
Although Wing II led for most of the competition, they were still forced to
overcome tough challenges from Wings III and IV before they were able to take
the crown. However, when the dust settled, their garish visages were the
only ones seen standing. And so, with 1093 total points, Wing II is declared
the winners of the first Mascot Power Battles competition! Congratulations!
More congrats to all the pilots and wings who fought hard for their mascots
and made this competition as fun as it was. Thanks, guys!
Finally, one last note to WCs...although medals for the top three pilots in
each division will be awarded soon, if you feel if any of your pilots
participated in a manner of particular excellence throughout this
competition, please write some recommendations up for merit medals for the
deserving pilots and send the recs to Fordto submit to OPS along with all the
other medals.
::: begins grooving out to 'La Cucaracha' :::

Ship/Fleet News
1) Congratulations to TAC/FA Stritker on receiving the Medal of Honour
2) Bugs in custom battles
11:34 - FA Striker [striker@tiecorps.org]
Make sure you are flying the up-to-date version of a battle if you seem to encounter a bug. Bug correction is the current top priority of the Tactical Office, and updated versions are released every day or so. As it takes as much time to correct a bug as to check a mission for which an already corrected bug has been reported, you will save us some time and allow us to even correct other bugs much faster. Thank you for your cooperation.
3)
Open Positions
07:19 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
There are currently two positions open in the TIE Corps to applications from the general membership.
The first of these is the position of Wing I WC. Applicants are expected to be able to meet the WC requirements as listed in the Training Manual. In addition, familiarity with both TIE and XWA is required, as well as absolute reliabilty. All applications should be sent to Fleet Admiral Priyum and Vice Admiral Proton with Wing I Application in the subject of the email.
The second position is that of Praetorian Commander. Applicants are expected to meet all the usual requirements of the Squadron Commander. Some experience as a Commander is essential. Membership in the Intel Division is not required, but as PraeCMDR, you will be expected to work with them. Remeber that Praetorian is an Elite Squadron, and as such, a high standard will be required from those interested. Applications for this position should be sent to Fleet Admiral Priyum and Rear Admiral Jordynn with PraeCMDR Application in the subject of the email. Good luck.
4) CA:FO's Birthday
13:13 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
A quick message to wish a very happy birthday to my CA, Admiral Havoc, who turns 17 today! If I remember correctly, top of his birthday wish list was spankings from the crew of the Challenge...so hop to it lads.
5) AoT passes 1000
00:38 - SDIR/RA Kerridwen Jorddyn [Kjorddyn@ehnet.org]
That's right! Since the beginning of the recorded AoT history, there has now been exactly 1000 courses passed!! We are the first academy other than IWATS to hit this mark! The lucky person to be the 1000th test taker was Mejas Doto, who just joined and is now in DiploServe!
Congrats to all TTDR's past and present!
The AoT is open to anyone who wishes to expand their knowledge http://aot.ehintel.org/
6) WC Appointment
10:33 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
