WING REPORT #14
Wing IX, ISD Relentless
“The Fighting Ninth”

TIE CORPS NEWS: Another fairly quiet week in the Corps. They’re still looking for a new Training Officer, and a new Game Master as well. Wing XX has a new/old WC in the form of GN Smitrock. All sorts of fun stuff. Your WC reports, you decide. For the latest information, check out http://www.tiecorps.org/news.asp.

WING NEWS: We’ve got a fair amount to discuss this time, so let’s get right to it.

PRIORITY ALPHA-ONE: The Battlegroups’ “Highlander” competition continues. Due to circumstances known to you all, Shield is the only Wing IX Squadron left in the competition. We’re counting on them to bring home the victory. Stay tuned, dear readers.

CROSSBOW SQUADRON: COL Doyon still needs FLs before he can open Crossbow. Now I KNOW there are a number of you out there who are capable of the job. Take the chance. You’ll not be hurting your current Squadron by applying...you’ll be doing your part to make Wing IX stronger.

The Wing Monthly Report has been filed, and is working its way up the chain of command. As soon as that’s done, expect some medals and the like. Also, our Ship Standing Orders have been approved by the FO. That means they’re official, and I expect that they’ll be followed. If you need a copy, let me know. CMDRs are expected to be familiar with them and apply them to their Squadrons.

Let’s see if we can’t get a little chatter going on either the MB or the mailing lists. All Squadrons have ‘em, and we have the Wing forum as well. Make use of the communications channels. You’ll meet some good people and have a lot of fun in the process.

One final note: CHEATING! DON’T DO IT! It’s been proven to cause acne in lab rats, as well as a really bad rash once the chain of command gets done chewing on your backside. It’s also a one-way ticket OUT of Wing IX. We will not cheat, nor tolerate those among us who do.

SQUADRON ACTIVITIES: All Squadrons continue to be more or less active, with some thinning of the ranks as usual.

Sword: Sword is awaiting the results of their competition with the IW’s Panther Squadron.

Crossbow: In the process of forming – needs applicants for two FLs

Spear: No current comps

Hammer: Word of a possible comp between Hammer and Thunder of Wing. On another note, LCM Neko has been invited to the Praetorian Squadron Trials! It’s an honor to have one of our own recognized for his outstanding flying. We hope he’ll decide to remain with the Wing, but best of luck in whatever you decide, Neko!

Shield: Shield is taking on Alpha Squadron of Wing I using TC192. The deadline for this slugfest is February 16. Also flying in Highlander.

WHAT THE WC’S DOING: This week: Did this report – talked with CMDRs and others – worked on XWA stuff (which took up way too much time) – took some IWATS courses
