WING REPORT #17
Wing IX, ISD Relentless
“The Fighting Ninth”

TIE CORPS NEWS: The FMC is back in business, according to their last report. Bruckmark resigned from his position. Some other stuff happened as well. Your WC reports, you decide. For the latest information, check out http://www.tiecorps.org/news.asp.

WING NEWS: Welcome to all our recent arrivals, including a number of distinguished names from the past of this great ship and Wing.

We need to keep at recruiting and otherwise attracting new members to the Wing. We have another transfer from the Avenger due to arrive soon, and I’d like all of you to welcome him aboard. Although this threat of closure has passed, from the tone on the TC MB, there will be more in the future. The only way we can avoid this threat is through numbers. Nothing else seems to count. So keep recruiting, and let people know that if they like TIE, Wing IX is the place for them. But we don’t rely on TIE, either. Some of you fly more XWA than TIE, and that’s fine. So long as you’re active I don’t care what game you use.

And this month’s WCO winner is…[drum roll]…Hammer Squadron! This is a hat trick for Hammer, although Sword’s influx of veterans made it a very close thing. In fact, Sword’s points more than doubled in one week.

PRIORITY ALPHA-ONE: MSEs are due. I know in the excitement of this month I almost forgot myself. CMDRs, PLEASE make use of the MSE generator at http://www.isdcolossus.com/relentless. It’s a handy tool and makes all our lives easier. Use the comments sections to add any personal details or insights you think are needed. And don’t forget: we need as much detail as possible so that promotion and medal requests can be processed as quickly as OPS allows. A quick note for you new arrivals: pilots on the Relentless are required by ship standing orders to do their own monthly evaluations and send them to their CMDRs. It’s not much – just a paragraph or so saying how you think you did during the month and what you’d like to improve on. It lets us know what you’re thinking and helps us tailor comps and other events that fit your needs. Also, you now get your portion of the MSE back after it’s been processed.

CROSSBOW SQUADRON: COL Doyon has selected his two FLs, and Crossbow is ready to be opened. In light of recent events, though, this opening will be delayed until the Relentless is officially taken off closing notice. As part of our Stardrifter celebration, we’ll officially open and christen Crossbow once the FO gives his ok. We’ve been too long without our reconnaissance squadron. It will be good to have them back in the hanger bay.

We’ve got a good run-on going on the Relentless MB. Let’s keep adding to it. So far Shield and Sword have been engaged. But Hammer and Spear await their turns in the fray. Also, it looks as if we have an enemy within the Relentless herself! Will we survive the onslaught of New Republic forces within and without?

One final note: CHEATING! DON’T DO IT! That kind of conduct is beneath the spirit, honor, and dignity of this Wing. It’s also a one-way ticket OUT of Wing IX. We will not cheat, nor tolerate those among us who do.

SQUADRON ACTIVITIES: All Squadrons continue to be more or less active. Sword has welcomed an influx of veterans, and Shield also welcomes transfers as well. Our newest SLs have all been promoted, and are doing very well in their respective squadrons. Flying is back up, which is good. We’ve also had some high scores. Outstanding work! Keep ‘em coming. It’s worth extra WCO points. And now that we’re up to strength, how about some comps?

Sword: Defeated Spear in their training exercise. Also welcomed a number of new faces.

Crossbow: Awaiting opening.

Spear: Sadly, Spear’s CMDR (CM Sunrider) stepped down this past week due to RL time constraints. He’s agreed to remain with Spear as a FL. A new CMDR has been chosen, and we’re just waiting on FO approval. In the midst of all this they also welcomed COL Darkfire aboard.

Hammer: No current comps. Won the WCO for a hat trick after defeating Thunder in a competition.

Shield: After a valiant effort, Shied came in second in the Highlander competition. Good show, Shield! You gave it your best shot, and that’s all anyone can ask.
