Wing IX, ISD Relentless

TIE CORPS NEWS: A new Game Master and head of the Senate have been chosen, and Wing X has a new WC. Congratulations to Havoc, who’s been named the Training Officer! To be honest, I’ve been so concerned with events in the Wing that I’ve not paid much attention this past week to the happenings in the rest of the Fleet. Your WC reports, you decide. WING NEWS: You all know the situation that faces us, so I’ll not waste time rehashing it here. We have until March 13 to recruit, and so far the response has been outstanding. We welcome aboard two new members of the Wing, one in Sword Squadron and one in Shield. Welcome aboard! You’ll find that you’ve joined the best damned Wing in the entire TIE Corps, with no exceptions. We talk the talk, but you’ll also find that we walk the walk. Take a moment to introduce yourselves to your new comrades, and they’ll welcome you to the Wing IX family with open arms. If you have any questions, ask your CMDRs or drop me a line.

Our main priority continues to be recruiting. I don’t want to hear about anyone spamming the Daedalus, but do what you can to get the word out. We have some interesting threads going on the Recruiting Forum. Add to them! For too long people have thought that Wing IX was a hostile, closed place. Let’s prove them wrong!

In light of this, I’ve decided to postpone the Top Gun competition for this month.

PRIORITY ALPHA-ONE: Shield Squadron has advanced to the finals of the Highlander competition! CAPT Mosh and his officers have a daunting task ahead of them. They carry the honor of this Wing and this ISD with them as they fly into battle. YOU know what you’re capable of, Shield Squadron, and I know what you’re capable of. Now show the rest of the Battlegroup that you can only count Wing IX out at your own peril. Fly like you’ve never flown before, aiming for high scores and 100% participation. I know CAPT Mosh expects this, as do I. Make us proud, Shield!

CROSSBOW SQUADRON: COL Doyon still needs one FL before he can open Crossbow. Now I KNOW there are a number of you out there who are capable of the job. Take the chance. You’ll not be hurting your current Squadron by applying...you’ll be doing your part to make Wing IX stronger. CMDRs: if you’ve got an officer who’s FL caliber but you’ve no place to put him (or her), encourage that officer to apply.

One final note: CHEATING! DON’T DO IT! It’s been proven to cause acne in lab rats, as well as a really bad rash once the chain of command gets done chewing on your backside. It’s also a one-way ticket OUT of Wing IX. We will not cheat, nor tolerate those among us who do.

SQUADRON ACTIVITIES: All Squadrons continue to be more or less active, with some thinning of the ranks as usual.

Sword: Sword was defeated by Panther, but only by a very slim margin. They’re looking for a rematch. But Sword is also involved in an exercise with Spear Squadron.

Crossbow: In the process of forming – needs applicants for one FL

Spear: Involved with a training exercise with Sword Squadron. This is an interesting event, and could serve as a model for future competitions.

Hammer: Hammer’s competition with Thunder is on, but the ending date has been delayed due to a mixup with the paperwork (Thunder’s CO didn’t get it in on time).

Shield: Shield is taking on Alpha Squadron of Wing I using TC192. The deadline for this slugfest is February 16. Also flying in Highlander. They’re also busy recruiting. Shield’s a busy place these days! Both Mosh and Powerslave were promoted to the rank of Captain this week as well. I can’t think of two officers who deserved it more, and in Mosh’s case I feel it was overdue. Congratulations, gentlemen! The first four rounds are on me!
