Wing III Report #16 - August 8th, 2001

Introduction
------------------
Another good week - Summer Bash participation is high, morale is good... that means there's not much
for Ferret and me to do and I can just sit back in my big, comfortable WC's chair, relax, eat a cookie
and drink a glass of milk - ah, that's good guys and gals! Keep improving your standards of activity
from week to week to keep the situation as it is, or make it even better! I'm quite impressed with the
activity most of you have shown so far - the next round in the cantina is on me! :)

Wing III News
------------------
- A new Beth Squadron Commander has been selected! Please all congratulate CM Cray Mikalen on his
recent promotion! He's already promised to show the rest of the Wing what the Golden Spoon stands for
and I'm positive he will do so in no time - congratulations and good luck with your newest assignment,
Cray! :)


- new ImpStorm II battles!!

There are two new upcoming TF Doom against TF Silber Saber battles which will take place on IRC in the
channel #project_faithful on Thursday 9th August at 11 pm GMT / 6 pm EST!

The outcome of both of these battles is still widely open and depends on *your* paticipation! Support
the TF Silver Saber during this battle and make us win! Be there!

- The Summer Bash deadline for flying, triva and url hunt was yesterday and results will be released
later today! However, due to Cal's address mess-up, everyone's triva answers won't be taken into
account for the Summer Bash this week - sorry about that, but there's no way to tell if you got all
answers yourself or simply copy&pasted from Cal... To compensate for his fault, Cal has emailed me
triva questions for the last week of the Summer Bash and will not participate in the last round.
The flying section has again seen a lot of entries (good work!) and the URL hunt seems to have been a
bit more difficult than last week - although everything has been found already (just not by the same
person).

- Aleth Squadron has finished its Combat Readiness Test and achived a CRR of 1! Not bad, considering
that five out of nine possible flew - but I know you could still improve that somewhat, so keep
working on it Aleth!

- Dufar Jabar of Aleth Squadron has been promoted to the rank of a Lieutenant Commander for his great
flying activity, his well-written stories about his past and his good participation in the Aleth RPG!
Congratulations, LCM Dufar Jabar - you owe all of us a drink :)

- Osan'gar is on leave until August 16th, Jahan is on leave until the 10th, Var is away until Sunday
and I will take a leave of absence starting this Sunday (11th) and lasting until the 25th of this
month! Jahan and his weired mynock will be left in command of the Wing during that time and Ferret
will stay with you as well (*evil grin* - I just don't want him around during my recreation time) - so
good luck! Maybe you'll come through alive if you please the A-WC by flying loads of battles, sending
him tons of emails and do some partying while we're away!?

- The Wing III website has been relocated to http://www.wing3.net due to MAJ Jahan Kalar's restless
efforts to improve our website! Our message board is still located at
http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/view.asp?b=48 though! Go and post something!

- Remember our regular IRC meetings in #wing_iii on Undernet at 6 pm GMT / 1 pm EST every Sunday!
