WC/LC Proton reporting on 5-5-01 for Wing V aboard the SSSD Sovereign:

A Wing V pilot snored obnoxiously, having lapsed into a stupor, draped over a bar stool in the Airlock 21 cantina. Several other drooling pilots were arrayed in similar sloppy positions.
LC Proton burst into the airlock and pointed at the snoring officer. Dude, the huge Tusken raider who served on the WC's "L.S.D. Team" of personal assistants, used a massive hand to grab the hapless pilot by the tunic collar and hurl him through the airlock hatch in one smooth motion.
"Smaaash!" The pilot's body thudded into the opposite corridor wall.
The loud commotion failed to rouse the other slumbering pilots from their liquor-induced lack of full consciousness. But that did not last long as Proton waved his other two assistants, Leroy and Snippy, into action with Dude. Snippy's electroshock bolts, Leroy's stun blaster and more overhand tosses by Dude immediately cleared the cantina.
Snippy punched in several commands at the airlock controls. A blinking message in bright red lettering began flashing on the holonet displays above the bar: "Pilots who did not participate in Wing V's April contest are hereby banned from the airlock for the remainder of May -- Signed, Lieutenant Colonel Proton."

WING NEWS AND STATUS

- April competition vs. Wing II: We lost, overwhelmingly. We had a lower overall average score; but, worse, we posted only a 26 percent participation rate. Nice job by Wing II, and congratulations to COL Inkwolf and her pilots. For Wing V, it's now double time in the simulators, and cantina privileges are suspended for the rest of the month for all pilots who did not fight in the comp!

- RED ALERT! Wing V vs. Wing VI. Fly TC-TIE Battle 171 by May 31. We can and must and will atone for the April debacle.

- RED ALERT II! We're facing the Infiltrator Wing's Shadow Squadron in a six-week event ... First up is Mem, flying TC-FREE 92.

- Upcoming major competitions planned:

- Wing III WC Sequoh Marden has hired a bantha named Ferret as his personal assistant. The thing has an aversion to jawas -- therefore should be plenty of fun for Leroy and the rest of the Wing V L.S.D. Team.

- I flew with the rest of the Rat Pack (unofficial flag officers squadron) in an XWA single-player comp against Wings I and IV. Results: 1) IV 2) Rats 3) I.
