Introduction
------------------
Looks like another week has passed... time is just flying by lately even though this week was rather
uneventful. Sure, we had some fun in the cantina celebrating Jahan's promotion to Major (and listening
to his never-ending major-jokes), but mostly everything is quiet... too quiet! Take the initiative and
do something fun! With our recent drop in membership I'd especially like everyone to try some
recruiting... after all we could need some fresh Sub-Lieutenants for the boring cleaning duties, eh?

Wing III News
------------------
- We've had another promotion this week, yay! (the endless stream of drinks hopefully never ends :)
Congratulations go to Jahan Kalar who's recently been promoted to Major for his dedicated and
continous work on improving Aleth Squadron and our Wing! Congratulations!!
- Emergency! With the recent huge drop in pilots (four in one week!) we're the Wing with the fewest
pilots of the whole fleet (together with Wing VI)! That has to change.. fast! Not only do I want to
avoid any further experiences with the Scorpions and the Pit in general, I also believe that it would
be much more fun for everyone if the squadrons were filled up with pilots (and not even below
half-strength as Hey currently is...) Because of that I want you all to try to recruit some good
pilots, basically ask anyone you know that is at least slightly interested in Star Wars (or only
Science-Fiction) if they'd like to join our great Wing, there are lots of possibilities! In case
you're playing online, convince anyone there to join the TC. Ask your relatives, your friends, your
neighbors or random people you encounter on the streets... Remember that you are not allowed to
recruit people from other squadrons and can't email cadets directly ordering them to join our Wing...
You can ask them if they could need your help though... do so!
- Remember the Sov-wide Top Gun contest! That is our top-priority competition at the moment and I
expect to see a good participation! You think you got the skill to be the Sovereign's Top Gun? Prove
it by flying Free-TIE #93 and/or Free-XWA #17!
The deadline is May 27th, so get flying!!
- Wing III Survivor Challenge update! I've finished reading though all entries! I had to change how I
originally wanted to give out points though, since I simply didn't anticipate to get story submissions
of about 2400 words... Therefore I now gave one point for roughly 150 words and then added some for
style and the fun I had reading them :)
Here are the results for this round:
- LCM Josh Popelka, 23.5 points (19 from fiction, 3.5 for flying 11 missions and 1 for winning triva)
- CM Cal Sinis, 22.5 points (22 from fiction, 0.5 for hosting triva)
- MAJ Osan'gar, 14 points (all from fiction)
Obviously we won't have immunity this round, since that'd immediately decide the winner and letting
the Survivors vote is not that practical this round as well. Because of that I want *you* to choose
who'll win the Survivor Challenge and will from now on be Wing III's "Pilot with most Endurance"!
That's right everyone is expected to vote this time (excluding the current Survivors) and you should
send your decision to me (kamm@incasoftware.de) until May 29th! Before casting your vote, I recommend
looking back at previous rounds to see who did best there or reading their fiction, so you can really
say that the pilot worked hard and deserves to be called "Pilot with most Endurance".
The total score so far was 154 points, and now it's 214!! That means whoever wins will recieve an Iron
Star with Silver Wings! Accomplishing that was some great work, congratulations to all Survivors!
- The decision about our new website has not been made so far... I'm positive I'll come to a
conclusion quite soon though.
- LCM Dark Angel resigned as our Wing Nurse. CM Cray Mikalen has been selected as new Nurse! Congrats
Cray!
- We've regular Wing III meetings in #wing_iii on Undernet at 6 pm GMT / 1 pm EST every Sunday and
they are much fun, so be there!
Unfortunately I could not be there last Sunday because of connection problems :( I should be there
this week though... that also means you'll get a log :)

- Hey's combat readiness test begun! All Hey pilots are ordered to fly FREE-XWA #2 until May 29th!
- Beth vs. Phantom competition continues. So far Beth has only seen 3 submissions... come on, you got
to improve that if you want to win!
- Aleth Competition #4 has started. Aleth pilots should fly TC-XWA #3 and turn it in to MAJ Jahan
Kalar no later than June 9th!
