Introduction
------------------
This week has been a bit slow... get involved people! There are lots of competitions you can
participate in, but it's on you to do so. Everyone should try to fly for the Sovereign-wide Top Gun
contest, even if you don't get highscores - at least try! If you prefer to be creative, do something
to equip SovMan with stuff he might or might not need in his career as super hero! - And if that's not
enough for you, talk to your local commander and I'm sure he'll be glad to organize something :)
Now with that out of the way, on to the report...
Wing III News
------------------
- Congratulations to Osan'gar for his promotion to Major! There's already been a major party and most
of the major drinking is already over. ;)
- There is a new Sovereign-wide Top Gun competition! Pilots of all squadrons on board of our great
ship are to fly Free-TIE #93 and/or Free-XWA #17 and submit your files to your Commanders until May
27th! We're the only XWA Wing on board of the Sov, so I want one of us leading the XWA category! This
will also replace our local Top Gun contest until it's finished, so put some effort into it and show
that we're the best when it comes to XWA! Of course you should not hesitate to submit your TIE Fighter
pilot files as well... ;)
- The SovMan competition started as well - here you got to design a costume for SOVMAN, our local
superhero! All submissions should go to COL Inkwolf at inkwolf@earthlink.net. The deadline is June
15th, so you still got plenty of time to give SovMan a cool outfit :)
- The website competition is over! I recieved entries from CM Loor
(http://www.student.itn.liu.se/~patla919/), CPT Jahan Kalar (http://wing3.cjb.net), MAJ Osan'gar
(http://wing3.xoasis.com/news.html) and LCM Dark Angel (not available online).
I'll have a very hard time deciding between Jahan's and Osan'gar's submission... They both look very
good and have different pros and cons - so I think a combination of both pages would be a great thing,
but that would probably take longer than just improving one page. I can't make this difficult decision
this fast and got to speak with the authors of the pages again before the winner of this competition
will be announced.
- Wing III Survivor Challenge update! I've been bombarded with story submissions from all Survivors
and am still reading through them... feel free to do so as well - I've attatched all submissions to
this email. Since there is quite much left for me to read, don't expect results this week....
- MAJ Osan'gar created a mailing list for our Wing!! Very well done, Os! Thanks to him you can now
communicate with the rest of the Wing through the address wing3@yahoogroups.com! Use it!
- Try to attend to our Wing meetings on IRC whenever possible - sure you can read the log, but
actually being there is much more fun! They're held in #wing_iii on Undernet at 6 pm GMT / 1 pm EST
every Sunday.
This week we had announcements from Beth and Hey. Even the WC turned up, but didn't have any news
prepared, since he was involved in a long and exhausting LAN party that day... Then we had triva
(hosted by CPT Cal Sinis) and Josh won it! At least I managed to get second place this time. You can
see the standings on our messageboard.
- Our messageboard is pretty active, but still more of you could take a look at

- Strange things are going on in Beth Squadron... first it was discovered that CPT Cal Sinis uses
whips stolen from LCM Psylocke's personal collection to make his squadmates work harder and then I
recently recieved a request from CM Loor asking for a free day for whole Beth Squadron to go on a
picknick on the Sov's hull just below the shield generators... of course it's approved! But you have
to take Ferret with you, I'm sure he'll enjoy this picknick as well :)
