"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities
of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of
darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost

ATTACHMENTS: short storys by LC Adolf and LC Murad Ibn Mark

LC Adolf:
Sitting at the Sovereign Louge bar, the newly promoted LC Adolf was
drinking and having a nice party with all of his friends. After many
rounds of Whiskey, grappa, vodka and all other alcolic things that a
human may drink he was completely drunken. Surely Wolly knows how to
celebrate a promotion, but the most orrible of the dangers has yet to
come...
Eugene:"Hey boss, it seems you surpassed even me! How many times had you
cleaned the hangar bay?"
Adolf (hardly raising from his chair):"exactly 10 times and the last one
i used a thoot brush, ahahahah! As for the "surpass", stay calm, no
other pilots has your victories, but remember that the prestige must be mantained..."
Eugene:"Yes, yes. But you will work harder to mantain yours, i know how
difficult is to be squadron commander. Anyway, well done chief and good luck!"
Adolf:"It is my honor to be with you, FOR THE EMPIRE!"
As these words were heared throught the Louge, the whole Wing I raised
the glasses and repeated them at an incredible loud level, so loud that
even the bridge crew surely hearded it!
With the hearth full of proudness Adolf was going to sit again on his
chair, but, instead, he fell on the floor covering himself with the beer
previosly contained inside his glass.
Adolf:"Who is the dead man that stole my chair!" he said.
A lightning in his mind, a sense of danger that usually come when he is
fighting in his T/D, something he stored well inside his memory, but forgotten.
It was too late ,he had only the time to turn his head to the left and
see GN Wolly with his chair in the right hand and a glass of Whiskey in
the other screaming:"CHAIR FIGHT!!!"
The last thing he saw was the chair flying directy towards his head....

LC Murad Ibn Mark:
GN Wolly looked over LCM Kaleel's shoulder at the flickering monitor. A static hiss from a loudspeaker filled the Wing I operations room.
"Are you sure you got a signal, Kaleel?" queried the Wing Commander.
"Sir, a signal only, no voice visual or aural data. Looks as if his equipment is able to send a carrier wave, but no data. I've tried to clean up the static, applied all the decrypts Gamma is authorised to use, but it's no good" replied Gamma Squadron's acting Commander.
"OK. I know you people. What about the unauthorised codes?" General Wolly put his hand on Kaleel's shoulder, forcing the LCM to face him.
"Er...I couldn't possibly comment, Sir...but nothing I've tried works". Kaleel looked sheepish, then turned back to the monitor.
"Mmmm" mused Wolly."Keep it up, Kaleel. I want him located and I want him brought back. Tell me when you've got a fix. We know he's alive down there. Get me his location, or even the crash site, and I'll persuade the COM to authorise a retrieval mission".

Wolly turned to leave, remembering the mission during which Gamma's commander had gone down. A simple sweep through a nameless system in which a few freighters had reported piracy, according to Intel. Routine, the COM had called it. Only, it hadn't been routine at all. Oh no, indeed. Intel had really got that wrong. Delta Squadron had hypered in, and reported the presence of a freighter under attack from a few z-95s, and also picked up a possible base on a small moon around the 5th planet of the system. The COM had ordered one corvette squadron and Wing I to deal with it. Wolly had sent Gamma to identify and neutralise the base, and Beta to assist Delta in taking down the pirate fighters. No problem. Routine. A simple anti-piracy sweep, search and destroy. No glory, minimal fuss, another simple line on the Wing report.

But it hadn't turned out like that. As Gamma began its run on the supposed pirate base, a Rebel Mon Cal Light Cruiser accompanied by a Dreadnought and an Interdictor arrived in system and dumped their squadrons into the fray. A group of B-wings attacked the corvettes as the emerged from hyperspace, destroying one. As Delta had moved to engage the Z-95s, the freighter opened up on them with quad lasers and a battery of turbo lasers. Beta arrived in the middle of an intense firefight, and were able to give Gamma and Delta some cover. Of course, Wing I managed to drive off the Rebels in the end, after Wolly had committed the rest of his Squadrons and with a little help from Wing II. But not without some loss. Virtually every fighter in wing I had received damage, and a number of Pilots injured. Two more Corvettes had been lost before the Rebel Interdictor had been taken down. And one of his Commander's, LC Murad from Gamma, was still missing, last reported to be on fire and crashing on one of the moons of the 5th planet. Rescue attempts had not located the crash site due to the atmospheric conditions on the moon, and the heavy fighting in the space around the moon.

"Sir, wait!" shouted Kaleel. Wolly turned back to see the jumping dots and fuzzy lines on the monitor flickering wildly. A sharp hiss filled the room, oscillating as Kaleel scanned different frequencies. "I think I got something...hang on. Let me try to clean this up". Kaleel busied himself with communications desk. Wolly watched the screen trying to resolve the flickering into a true image, not ghosts. Ghosts. Yes, thought Wolly, there's something there. "I can nearly make out something, Kaleel". "I know sir, I'll be done in a second". All of a sudden the hissing and crackling stopped, replaced by a feint, warbling electronic tone. "There, that's it!" exclaimed Kaleel triumphantly. " A Missile Boat automatic distress signal!" "Look at the monitor Kaleel and clean that image up" ordered Wolly. Kaleel worked to clean up the picture. As the two officers looked, a blurred monochrome shadow became apparent in the grainy chaos of the monitor. Slowly it sharpened, until the shape of a head and torso became clear. "It's Murad!" shouted Wolly.

It was true. There was Murad, in his flight suit, minus his helmet and with a bloody cut on his forehead. His mouth was moving, clearly trying to talk. "Kaleel, can we pick that up?" asked the General. " No sir, this isn't coming from the same place as the distress signal. I'll see what I can do to place it". The image of Murad frowned, and his head turned away as if looking for something. The image seemed to recede in Wolly's vision. Wolly realised that the Murad had step back from whatever camera he had been looking into. As he did so Wolly could see that Murad stood in a small room full of Monitors and what appeared to be communications equipment. He watched as the figure of Murad gestured to something out of shot. Wolly saw a blaster in Murad's hand, saw the blaster fired into the ceiling, then pointed at something still frustratingly out of shot. "Hurry up Kaleel, I need a fix on this now! And get me an audio!" ordered Wolly, watching the screen intently. "Wherever Murad is we need to get to him!"

As Wolly spoke, he saw a new figure become visible on the monitor. This one wore the uniform of a Rebel technician, and the expression was one of fear. Wolly watched as Murad gestured at the Rebel tech with his blaster, clearly shouting orders at him. The rebel moved closer to the monitor. Wolly could see that the tech was looking down, presumably adjusting the settings for the comms array because over the loudspeaker voices coupled now be heard. Kaleel looked up from his desk. "Nothing to do with me sir...it must be them!".

As Wolly watched, the rebel stood back from the screen. "It's done now." Wolly realised he was hearing the rebel speaking to Murad. "Right. This better work Rebel or you're in deep trouble!" Wolly heard Murad reply. "Murad, can you hear me?" Wolly asked? He saw Murad turn to face the screen. "Sir, yes Sir! Boy am I glad to see you!" "Murad, what in the name of the Empire are you doing? Where are you? What about your ship? Report!" "Sir, LC Murad, Gamma, wing I reporting from New Republic Listening post 14-A. This facility is now under Imperial control!" Wolly couldn't suppress his grin as he watched Murad snap to attention on his monitor. Murad continued "I made a crash landing on the second moon of the gas giant. Luckily for me, my ship came down right on top of this bunker, damaging the communications array on top. When the rebel techs come out to repair the damage I was able to shoot the guards and capture a couple of unarmed techs. I have barricaded myself in the control room with my hostages, in case any rebel soldiers are still around or on their way here." "Mmmm....good work Murad. A team is on its way." Wolly turned to Kaleel, standing open mouthed at his side. " Don't just stare Lieutenant-Commander, Inform the COM that Gamma Squadron has located and neutralised a second rebel installation and requests reinforcement. When you done that get your flight out there at once!" Kaleel jumped to attention. "Immediately, Sir", he replied and ran from the room. Wolly turned back to the screen "By the way, Lieutenant -Colonel, why have you not made your report sooner?" Murad smiled and replied "I apologise sir, just a little communications problem. Won't happen again, sir!"
