News In Detail
CA:TAC2 Appointed
Our very own RA Troutrooper has been appointed CA:TAC2.
This is a huge loss for us but a gain for the tactical office.
He is now Tactical Head Coordinator, basically head of
the beta team. I wish him luck in his new position ('Cos im gonna
make him work :P)
COL Mell promoted to
RA!
Troutrooper's departure left the Colossus
Commodore breifly open. This was soon filled by someone I have
known and respected since I first stepped on the Colossus. COL
Mell was promoted to RA and is the new Colossus Commodore!
Of all the people in the EH, Mell would have been my only
choice to take over. As it stands, we lost a RATT but gained a
RAM, lets go batter some people with it!
I for one am looking forward to working with him, Many months
ago me and Mell were discussing the Colossus situation.
Now were are in our dream jobs it's time to put those conversations
into practice.
Relentless claims TCCOM
Award
The Imperial Star Destroyer Relentless has claimed the TCCOM award
for February. Consider this a target....

Skipping Missions reminder
(By AD Starlion and SA Kawolski)
Recently, it has come to my attention that pilots have been simply
playing 5/6 of a battle (or X-1/X) and submitting it, saying they
skipped the last mission. According with the Tactical Manual,
i have issued Tactical Order #001.
Tactical
Order #001 - Admiral StarLion
Persons having skipped a mission in a battle MUST fill out a legitimate
bug report on that battle in order to receive credit for that
battle.
If the Tactical Office discovers you are NOT doing so, the BSF's
in question will be removed from your record, irregardless of
previously completed entries for said battle.
(Quoted from: The Tactical Manual)
You may not skip more than one mission. You may NOT skip Free
Missions. You may NOT skip a mission just because you do not want
to fly it.
SA Kawolski's
Addition:
In addendum to the Tactical Office's order, if you are skipping
missions on a regular basis, forcing the Tactical Officer to have
to bring up your record again and again to remove battles you
didn't fully complete, you will be sent to the HCI on charges
of cheating, which results in many steep punishments.
We understand mistakes happen, but repeat offenders who feel they
can abuse the system will face the consequences.

Exercise Cantina Run -
Phase I Results
I was extremely dissapointed with the results gleamed from the
first round. Reports of how upset I was are not exaggerated. For
the record, The Colossus averaged 63% participation. Of the squadrons,
only Mu squadron were above this average with 89%. I am
not going to name and shame the pilots who didn't submit, but
needless to say, I know who you are.
These results put us fourth in the table with two points. It's
not a lost cause yet, but we need maximum participation and some
real quality entries to stand a chance of winning.
My thanks go to the officer's that did submit, I apologize to
them for the one's that didn't.
Exercise Cantina Run
- Phase II
Phase II is now underway, graphics. I don't personally care if
you have no graphical skill or not, I want a submission.
Even if it's a stickman in MS Paint it'll do.
May I remind you that I know who did submit last time and more
importantly who didn't. My threats are not to be taken lightly.
This is the biggest competition in the battlegroups and if you
don't care about winning it your on the wrong ship...
Submissions need to be in to your Commanders by March 16th
for submission to me on March 17th. We haven't got a lot
of time, get moving!
Command Changes
Lots of changes in command crew this week. CM Wap Eal resigned
as Eta Commander and now takes up a role as an Eta FM.
His replacement is CPT Devlin, a long-serving officer in
the EH with an extremely high reputation. Changes have been made
since he has taken up his assignment, I look forward to many more.
CM Anthony Starr stepped down from his position as Omicron
Commander, His instant replacement being the newly promoted CM
Daniel Stephens who has been filling in superbly in Starr's
abscence. I have high regard for this officer who is extremely
active and dedicated. I ask everyone to help him settle into the
position as soon as possible.
Thirdly, CPT Owen Nivarian has been having a few problems
recently and I moved him to the reserves until he sorts them out.
His replacement was going to be COL Mell, but seeing as
he is now COM thats blown that one out of the window. COL Sindar
is in temporary charge until is assign a new Commander.
Reviews
Egroups
The main discussion this week was our leaders run-in with the
big guys at Lucasfilm. Apparently, he's been selling mechandise
that breached Lucasfilm's complete copyright protected stranglehold
on everything Star Wars related. He got away with a slapped wrist.
But a revelation came out of it, It is entirely possible that
RA Mell may have to cut out a chunk of flesh from his shoulder.
He has a Imperial Logo on it which is property of Lucasfilm. Tickets
to see the event start at £15 but for £35 you can
get close enough to hear him scream :P
IRC
LT Darknyte has pulled away at the
top of the chatters list, I'm about 6K words behind.. Maybe i'll
paste my story in the room and see how he reacts :P
Message Boards
CM RAF celebrated one year
in the EH this week, my congratulations to him. I can remember
when he joined and was assigned to my flight in Pi, seems
like only yesterday.
In the event, he timed it just right. Mell's buying drinks
all week and by the end of that, we'll all be to drunk to remember
that RAF owes us a round..
Academics
Two pilots this week completed a load of IWATS courses. LT
Alain Dindareanu passed HTML 1 and 2, MIRC 1 and 2, Visual
basic script and Computer Basics. Well done AD!
LCM Kalve Ryder also passed HTML 1 and 2. Does this mean
you can make a webpage now? (Hint Hint)
BSF's
Up until the results of the ECR were announced, this was the reason
I was having such a good week. Pilots, you are doing me proud
here!
BSF's since last week stand at 49! which puts us on 100
for the Month!! We are only 12 days in! We look set to smash last
months BSF total next week. Remember, If all pilots fly ONE
battle a week thats 170 for the month, fly for the Colossus
and lets get that TCCOM award back were it belongs!
Top 5 Pilots
1st | LT Darknyte | (Mu Squadron) | 17 BSF's |
2nd | LCM Kalve Ryder | (Mu Squadron) | 10 BSF's |
3rd | CM Brad Tack | (Mu Squadron) | 9 BSF's |
=4th | LCM Kyle Katarn | (Mu Squadron) | 3 BSF's |
=4th | CM Wap Eal | (Eta Squadron) | 3 BSF's |
=4th | LT Alain Dindareanu | (Eta Squadron) | 3 BSF's |
Top Squadron
=1st | MU SQUADRON | 39 BSF's |
2nd | Eta Squadron | 8 BSF's |
3rd | Pi Squadron | 2 BSF's |
4th | Omicron Squadron | 0 BSF's |
This makes slightly worrying reading, Surely Mu aren't that far ahead of everybody else? If they are there next week, I'll make a mission about them. (I don't like making missions, help me out here)

Squadron
Summaries
Mu Squadron top of the tree and now Battlegroup
Squadron of the Month! My congratulations go to you guys for
an outstanding effort. They show no sign of slowing down just
yet, which is fine by me :P
Pi Squadron are in a bit of a pickle. CPT Owen
Nivarian's transfer to the reserves may hurt them but I think
they will only come back stronger. I will find you a new Commander
as soon as I can to restore you to your former greatness.
Omicron Squadron now has a new Commander and now
we get to see what they are made of. They are the largest squadron
on the Colossus and are 'sleeping giants'.. I would love to see
them challenging Mu week after week. All pilots need to
rally around your new Commander, CM Daniel Stephens and
show him what you are made of!
Eta Squadron also have a new Commander, CPT Devlin
was my choice to take over. He is vastly experienced and will
do his very utmost to restore glory to Eta. However, three pilots
transfered out this week. I hope these will be replaced soon.

Miscellanous
LT Horus Taalon
Last week, Horus Taalon appeared to go mad and post several
obscene posts on the Egroup. He has since been removed pending
court-martial. It is a shame because he did have huge potential.
He is in the hands of the HCI now (which isn't fun)
As a reminder to everyone, as if you need it, if you feel the
need to let loose some pent-up frustration, do not do it in
the egroup. Being in the Tiecorps can become frustrating,
I do understand that, but don't inflict it on everyone else. If
you really need to talk to someone my door is always open.
Projects
There are several new projects underway at the moment which you
will all begin to see within the next month or two. If you do
have an ideas on projects let me know!
