Relevant News In Detail

HA Kawolski's Cheating Reminder
The database has recently caught several cheaters who were either sharing pilot files or stealing pilot files (i.e. a CMDR takes his FM's pilot files, renames them, and submits them to his WC as the CMDR's own). These cases are currently being investigated.
Keep in mind that the punishment for cheating for FIRST TIME OFFENDERS is a demotion to Sub-Lieutenant, loss of all medals (except the OV), loss of all high scores, and a perm-ban (which applies to all clones as well) off the battle board and FCHG system. Repeat offenders are expelled.

The rule is simple: One pilot file for one PIN # only. Don't share your pilot file with friends. Don't share your pilot file with clones to try to get double the credit for the work done.

Iron Star System

The new Iron Star system has been programmed into the database. Here's how it works:
The Iron Star is awarded for winning a Training Office-approved competition. There are two types of add-ons depending on the type of competition. For all Flying competitions, Wings are awarded. For all Non-Flying competitions, Ribbons are awarded. The type of Wings or Ribbon awarded is dependent on the size of the competition.

Bronze - 1st place in a competition involving at least 6 pilots, runner-up award for Silver competitions, 3rd place/participating award for Gold or Platnium competitions
Silver - 1st place in a competition involving 4 or more squadrons or task units, 2nd place award for Gold or Platnium competitions
Gold - 1st place in a competition involving 3 or more wings/task forces.
Platinum - Training Office competition

Wings are worth FCHG points (1,3,5,10 pts respectively) but Ribbons are not.

Wing News

Exercise Cantina Run
The biggest news this week was the announcement of the next Exercise Cantina Run, the battlegroup flagship contest. The last time around, The Immortal took the flagship title away from the Challenge. The Colossus could only manage third place, even through supreme efforts from its talented crew.
This time around we are in a stronger position. We can win this. I don't just believe it, i know it. Your first task is to write fiction for it, Theme of the battlegroups. I couldn't personally give two hoots if you think you can't write or not, bonus points are awarded for participation, if everyone submits something then we are in a strong position in the competition. I will be checking up on people that fail to submit...and you really don't want to piss me off.
So far I have recieved only two. This isn't good enough. I've given you the maximum warning I could. It's up to you.

Reviews

Egroups
Not much has been going on on the Egroups. I really hope that this is only a temporary thing...

Message Boards
TT posted a run-on on the Colossus board. When I checked it earlier, there was not a single reply. This is possibly the easiest way of submitting for the ECR. The only thing I can think of is that everyone has already got an idea and is busy writing it down. I sure hope this is the case..

IRC
IRC activity has been high, I finally knocked Lohr off the top of our listings..somebody join me up at the top!

BSF's
BSF's since the last report ran at 46. Im quite impressed. On top of that, I heard a certain COM submitted 17. That puts us on 105 for the month. If we can get that up to 200 by the end of the month i'll be extremely happy. There is nine days left of this month and we are currently standing at 34 pilots, thats 3 per pilot. Reckon you can fly three free missions before the end of the month? I can..

Squadron Summaries

The newly opened Mu Squadron has acheived much since it opened. They have gained five pilots and a new website. CM Absoult Vodka also uploaded my new website to ISDColossus.com! Looking good guys, Mooooo!

Pi Squadron's CMDR, Owen Nivarian recieved a promotion to CPT and Mell recieved a load of medals. Im sure you guys of capable of so much more, make me proud!

Omicron Squadron was hit by the loss of LT Deke, LT Xandor Draconis (Vash Tribal) and LT Veng . Their CMDR, CM Anthony Starr is also currently on leave following an injury. All in all, a pretty bad two weeks for Omi. Lets hope you bounce back with a vengence!!

Eta Squadron was in competition with Tornado squadron based on the Challenge. Eta put up a good fight but in the end lost narrowly. CPT Devlin and LT Andrew Strinder finished 1st and 2nd in that competition. I wish you better luck in the future.
CM Wap Eal is still on leave and he appointed LCM Nic Rety as A-CMDR. Unfortunently, Nic has had to take emergency leave so I appointed CPT Devlin as A-A-CMDR. Now Devlin needs to go on leave so im going to be Eta's A-A-A-CMDR :P Thats a lot of acting..
