Wing III Report #2 - April 18th, 2001

Introduction
------------------
Greetings! This was already a good week for Wing III (though we lost two pilots :/ ), but the next weeks promise to be even more eventfull with the continuing Wing III Survivor Challenge, the restarted Top Gun contest and some squadron competitions. :)
I'd also like give a warm welcome our newest member: SL Arcanian Stirner! Drinks are currently on CM Loor, so I recommend you visit the cantina and get to know the rest of the Wing while he's paying :)

Wing III News
------------------
- CM Loor is Beth Squadron's new Commander! Congratulations Loor! I know you'll be doing an excelent job! *turns around to the rest of the Wing* You know you can get free drinks from him in our cantina for the next few days and we've no big missions comming up, so make usage of it! ;) A part of the Sov's command staff has already joined the party.

- Wing III monthly Top Gun contest is back!! More details will be released very soon!

- Wing III Survivor Challenge update! The second challenge has passed with all but one survivor sending a short short story to me.

Submissions were recieved from:
CM Cal Sinis, Beth Squadron
CPT Van, Daleth Squadron
CPT Osan'gar, Hey Squadron
LCM Josh Popelka, Hey Squadron
CM Mayk Wolverine, Aleth Squadron
LCM Yun, Aleth Squadron

No submission recieved from:
LT Dark Angel, Daleth Squadron

CM Cal Sinis' story was selected as the best story that stayed around the 200 words limit - he therefore earned immunity for this weeks voting which is still in progress. All other stories are also attatched to this email.

The Survivors currently have 80 points and only two challanges are over so chances that the last Survivor will get a good reward are pretty high :)

50 pts : Iron Star, Bronze Ribbon
100 pts : Iron Star, Bronze Wings
150 pts : Iron Star, Silver Ribbon
200 pts : Iron Star, Silver Wings

Now, without further delay, the challenge for round 3 of the W3SC:

Graphics! Create a picture (preferably a Wing III banner for our message board ;) and send it to me. Every submitted graphic is worth 5 points and the player with the best story (judged by me again) will gain immunity for this round! The deadline for this is Sunday, April 22nd - I know voting is still in progress, but since I don't want to reduce your time for the submission both things will run parallel until it's clear who'll be voted out.

- Daleth's CRT ended and they had 5 out of 7 pilots participating which results in a Combat Readiness Rating of 3!! Well done!

- Wing III Commander's Assistant - I already have some thing hidden in my cabin, but well.... it still needs a bit more bad treatment until it obeys my orders and is as terrifying as I'd like it to be - and no, you're not allowed to see it before it's 'finished'! ;)

- Wing III meetings are still held in #wing_iii on Undernet at 6 pm GMT / 1 pm EST every Sunday. Attendance to last Sunday's meeting was pretty low - only Osan'gar, Craydon, Loor and me showed up. We agreed on something great though - from now on weekly triva will be back! I'll be run by CPT Osan'gar every week, so there now is another good reason for coming to our meetings apart from the announcements and the fun chatter - you can show the rest how big your knowledge about Star Wars really is! So be there!

- We have a new message board!! Go and post at http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/view.asp?b=48! It looks nice and people from almost every of Wing III's squadrons have already been seen posting there.

- Hey Squadron has entered a completition against Teth Squadron of Wing IV. Hey's pilots are ordered to fly FREE-XWA #18 until May 1st! I expect you to win this one! :)

- Aleth Squadron recently started a competition against themselves (some people call it "intra-Squadron") and all pilots should fly TC-XWA #1 until April 23rd!

- Hey Squadron lost their competition against Phantom Squadron with 5529 to 9457 points (average scoring)... Congrats go the Phantom. Don't give up, you'll get them next time! :)

Wing III Quotes of the week
-------------------------------------
"It culminated with major shoulder surgery on Friday. That was fun, I'll tell ya. But at least I got some powerful drugs out of it. " - CPT Jahan Kalar. I'd like to remind everyone again that "Fly High" has nothing to do with consuming any kind of chemical substances that modify things in your body. Well, eating is allowed though :P

"Did i miss anything? Actually wait, considering i'm the only funny one i couldn't have missed much." - CM Cal Sinis talking about the IRC meeting. Is he right? Why do I have so few quotes to choose from? Will that change soon? More on this in the next episode of this Wing report. ;)

Just a short addendum to the Aluminium Foil Deflector Beanie here this week. It was originally discovered by LC Dras Hempor and Var was just the one who forwarded it to me, so credits and thanks for our safety should go to Dras.

Fly your craft slightly above your opponent, and do not forget to look for chasing enemys as you do so!
