WELCOME
**Jaded Strumpet and Candyland board an Imperial shuttle, waving happy new year and refusing to disclose what secret mission they're off on for Major Proton. Snippy bleeps mournfully, raising an appendage in salute to his fellow WC assistants.**
My attempts at levity at the start of the weekly wing reports have generated little more than silence in response. Interestingly, in previous assignments I have found such "fiction" to be a good way to spark fun and camaraderie in an EH unit; however, it's not taking hold with this group at all. Additionally, my efforts even have resulted in a formal complaint from one pilot. So, I ask myself, why knock myself out for no reason? Therefore, I'm turning down the heat on the assistants' adventures, effective now. Thanks for your attention.

WING NEWS AND STATUS
- Last day for Wing V December contest! Fly TC-TIE Free Mission 138, Battlecry One. Laserless scoring. Files due to CMDRs by Dec. 30, to me by the end of Dec. 31.
- We'll get the new year off with a serious blast of flying! The January Wing V competition will feature a full EH battle, and one that uses a ship patch. Fly TC-TIE Battle 157, Operation Zupa. If you've never used ship patches before, you're in for a treat. If you've been steeling yourself to even try a ship patch, this is your chance! Get all the necessary files at the Wing V Web site. Note: You can fly the battle without patching, but it defaults to a T/F and a T/A, increasing the difficulty. The TIE Praetor is one fast fighter! Winner of the January contest will receive a PC and the runnerup will get an ISM. Pilot files are due to CMDRs by Jan. 29, to me by midnight Jan. 30. Good luck to all pilots!

- AD Zsinj reports: Outer Rim nights will be returning as of next week! There are several changes. One is that the clubs participating include: the RS, the SV, the VE, the LSF, the NR and now us!
