WING V REPORT 15

WC/LC Proton reporting on 1-27-01 for Wing V aboard the SSSD Sovereign:

Leroy chittered angrily at Dude and kicked him in the shins. Dude snarled in rage and backhanded the tough little jawa, who flew across the WC's office and crashed into a tall stack of crates jammed with Corellian ale and brandy.
LC Proton smirked at the battling pair of assistants and motioned to Snippy, his military surplus droid and senior assistant. Energy blazed from the droid's appendages and the other two assistants were wrapped in a stasis field so they could do no more harm to one another. Each combatant had been clutching handfuls of Imperial credits, which were now scattered throughout the room in the wake of their tussle.
"You two dopes are suspended without pay for two weeks for violation of one of my standing orders for assistants: No betting on Wing V forces. What, do you want the Black Sun syndicate to gain a toehold in our operations? Snippy, put them in The Cage."
Dude, the hulking Tusken raider, and the jawa had been wagering on potential winners of Wing V's upcoming February competition. They also were taking bets on the date when the wing would reach full strength at 72 pilots.
Snippy returned to the WC's desk after imprisoning the violators. He bleeped imploringly at the commander. "Snip, I know. They mean well. … Perhaps I was too harsh." The WC glanced at the booze stash against the wall, right next to The Cage. He returned his gaze to Snippy and issued more orders:
"OK, slide one case of ale apiece into the Cage for them. Perhaps that will enhance their thinking during their two weeks in confinement." Proton added in the direction of Leroy and Dude, shouting, "And don't fight over the booze!"
Dude grunted in frustration. Leroy cackled, knowing that pound for pound he was looking forward to much for ale than his shambling compatriot.
"Oh, Leroy, one more thing for you," Proton said. "You're on solo cleanup detail after my promotion party tonight."
Leroy's little jawa eyes seemed to flare from beneath his red hood, and he shook his fist in outrage, then relaxed and turned a sullen glare on Dude, now chuckling through his tangled Tusken bridgework.

WING NEWS AND STATUS

- Wing V January contest: LAST DAYS!: Fly TC-TIE Battle 157, Operation Zupa. Winner will receive a PC and the runnerup will get an ISM. Pilot files are due to CMDRs by Jan. 29, to me by midnight Jan. 30.

- Wing V Chronicles on hold until after the February contest.

- Wing V February contest: The Heavy-Rocket Rumble! Six categories! Lots of medals! Details to follow in a separate mail. Also, the Rumble page is linked off the Wing V site index.

- Recruiting. We have reached 50 pilots, thanks to the incredible recruiting work by various pilots. Let's keep it going. We have developed an excellent recruiting approch, and it is paying off for our overall numbers, and all of our new pilots are in turn benefitting from a stronger, more enjoyable and competitive wing.

- CM/Doc Wil_Striker reports: I have moved the Wing V MedLab to a new server, so it now has a new address. The new MedLab can be found at: http://www.crosswinds.net/~medlab/medlab.htm.
For those of you that haven't had a chance yet, please visit the MedLab and leave a message on our Message Board. Remember, the Doc takes all types of alcohol as form of payment for services rendered. LOL
I have decided in an effort to help promote morale and activity, to hold a weekly "Chat with the Doc" session in the Airlock, which will be held on Sunday afternoons at 1400 hrs (2:00 PM EST). During this time anyone can feel free to address any issues that they would like to talk about, and even help spread some new ideas for consideration. :)

MISCELLANEOUS

- GA Ronin reports: With the recent resignation of AD Striker as TAC, the Fleet Commander and Executive Officer have appointed Starlion as the new EH Tactical Officer (TAC), who is herein promoted to the Rank of Admiral, commensurate with his new Position. COL Starlion previously served as the CA:TAC and has also been endorsed by the AD Striker, the outgoing TAC.

- RA Quake reports:
Recently, Naval Commander, Vice Admiral Bargon resigned.

- AD Theodore reports:
Today, I have promoted, now, VA Xanos Goatham Zorrixor to the new NAVCOM. Under his leadership, I expect to see the Naval Corps continue to grow and increase its activity.

- AD Theodore reports: I have reinstated the TCCOM Award and given the January, 2001 presentation to Wing XIII. Details are found in the report but, please give your congratulations to VA Cyric and all the officers of the GW.

- HA Kawolski reports: There's a new TC Survey Center question about the "Battle For Naboo" game. To answer it, simply log in to the administration section (active pilots only...sorry Cadets!).

Hopefully, this game won't suck quite as badly as all the other Episode One games. Only time will tell.
