WC/MAJ Proton reporting on 12-2-00 for Wing V aboard the SSSD Sovereign:
WELCOME
"Snippy Strikes Back"
The wing commander's probe droid whirred and bleeped mournfully. Every few seconds a small shower of sparks poured from the underside of the droid.
Major Proton reviewed the latest secure communication from the commodore of the Sovereign, Fleet Admiral Kramer. In it, Kramer cautiously granted Proton provisional access to The Pit.
"The Pit," Proton mumbled to himself, alternately grimacing and grinning, recalling his past ... visits ... and anticipating a rewarding, revenge-filled future.
"Patience, Snippy," Proton told his military surplus droid, one of his three key aides on his Wing V command staff.
"Bloooooooooop," Snippy blabbed, bobbing and hovering, spitting sparks. The droid hovered unevenly, its antigrav actuators thrown off by the absence of one leg.
Proton's other two assistants, the leather-clad Jaded Strumpet and Candyland, smoothly flowed into the room, shoulder to shoulder, with matching grins of pride and pleasure. Candyland excitedly thrust a fuzzy, soppy object toward Proton, not noticing the object was dripping liquid onto her boss's desk.
"Candy, calm down!" Proton bawled. "It's dead. DEAD. And it's just a rodent."
She dropped the thing on the WC's desk.
"Commander," Jaded Strumpet addressed Proton, "we have completed our assigned mission. One Wing III assault hamster carcass, relatively intact."
Proton ordered Candyland to retrieve a medical vibroblade from one of Snippy's on-board storage compartments.
"OK, Candy, get skinning," he instructed.

General Sasquatch, commander of Wing III, clinked glasses yet again with a vicious-looking ewok. Sasquatch kept his eyes on Frank and his back to the wall of the cantina. He was taking no chances with the squatty psychopath, even if the notorious kung-fu ewok was in his employ.
"Frank, you have performed satisfactorily so far," Sasquatch said. "But, was it really necessary to attack Proton's droid? We already have enough problems with those Wing V lunatics."
The ewok uttered a high-pitched grunt, laughed, guzzled the entire contents of his comically large liquor tumbler, then smashed the vessel onto the bar. Frank stood and staggered out of the cantina.
"Ewoks. Psychotic ewoks. Mercenary ewoks," Sasquatch muttered, shaking his head, wondering again about his choice of an assistant-enforcer to maintain order in Wing III.

Candyland furtively killed two banks of lights in the corridors outside The Pit as Snippy worked the controls at the access hatch to the dank chamber beneath the deck. Candy nervously regarded the chittering and scraping noises escaping from Kramer's dreaded dungeon compartment.
Jaded Strumpet, watching the corridor intersection coming from the Sovereign cantina, whistled sharply and motioned to Snippy, waving him toward her post at the darkened corner of the intersection.
"The ewok is almost here," the Strumpet hissed, as all three of Proton's assistants heard shuffling and belching growing louder, headed along the intersecting corridor.
Frank the kung-fu ewok was strolling back to the Wing III bunks after his cantina binging. He twirled an Imperial issue military probe droid's leg in one hand, mouthing high-pitched giggles as he remembered his surprise assault on Snippy that had netted him the metallic trophy.
Too late, Frank heard the onrushing flight servos of a probe droid, and out of his left eye caught a glance of metal -- and fur -- lashing toward his head.
"Fsh-WHAM!" Snippy's new leg, made from the ligaments, bone and fur of the unfortunate assault hamster slain by Candyland, slammed into the side of Frank's head, sending the ewok reeling toward The Pit's main hatch. In a fluid motion, Candyland swung open the hatch and kicked Frank on the backside as he sailed into The Pit.
Candyland slammed and toggled the hatch shut as Snippy and Jaded Strumpet followed, taking positions at the monitor screens that allowed panoramic views of the inside of The Pit.
Enraged screams of the psychopathic ewok blasted out of the monitor speakers. Chittering, scraping and tearing noises intensified. Frank's screams grew louder, sharper -- and more fearful, as Kramer's scorpions overwhelmed the vicious little mercenary.
Snippy booped and beeped happily and, with one of his upper probe appendages, exchanged high fives with the bouncy and exuberant Jaded Strumpet and Candyland.
Major Proton emerged from the end of the corridor, slapped his assistants on the back one by one, and punched the communications relay stud outside the hatchway.
"Frank, if you survive this 'therapy session,' please leave a message with General Sasquatch when you return to Wing III," Proton smirked.
"Tell him that Snippy and my other assistants are far more than a match for his arrogant little crazed ewoks and his stinking assault hamsters. And, please ask him, what was he thinking, giving free booze to a kung-fu alcoholic ewok?"
