WING IV NEWS

1) Well, as you can see our membership has leaped to 39 (remember 4-5 moths
ago when it was 24?). I anticipate opening Zayin Squadron soon, even.. I've
figured that Wing IV has averaged more than 34 -battle- submissions each
week in May.. with free missions, I'm sure about 50 total BSFs per week.

2) Wing IV IRC Meeting and XWA Tonight! XWA starts at 7:30 PM, EST in our
IRC Room #Wing_IV. Then, we have our IRC Meeting at 8:30 PM EST. Following
the meeting (it might be 9:00-9:30) there can be trivia, Jedi Knight, or
even more XWA, if Bret's there. I know it's kind of late, but it may
accomodate some of our other members...

3) Squadron League Round 9! Fly FREE-TIE 106 and send it to myself with your
CMDR CC:ed by May 30th! The mission is ATTACHED. NOTE: Let the Cargo Ferry
board the Container before you disable the Cargo Ferry..

4) Wing IV Tag Team Competition Round 3! Fly FREE-TIE 60 and send it to
myself with your CMDR CC:ed by June 3rd! The mission is ATTACHED. Remember,
the tag teams are: Cheth/Lamed v Kaph/Teth

5) Congratulations to Wing IV's newest Imperator, CPT Mini Minkus! He broke
500 FCHG points this week, and becomes Wing IV's third Imperator, joining
myself and MAJ Reaper. He has recieved his award, a Bronze Star.

6) Congratulations to Teth Squadron, for defeating Samekh Squadron/Wing V in
a squadron competitione earlier this week! Good work to Yod Squadron, who
made a valiant effort, but was not victorious over the elite Praetorian
Squadron.

9) Now that Project ImpStorm is over, I'd like to recognize all of our
pilots who died for the Blue Team's honor. 25 total pilots were killed
fighting for victory. Tonight at our IRC Meeting, I'll be holding a memorial
service for those who passed away. :) The list is below.

FLEET/SHIP NEWS:

2) The end of Exercise Imperial Storm has come, and with a massive lead in
Victory Points over Blue, Red Team are declared the winners of the Exercise.
A full analysis of what happened, giving precise details of who did what and
where, will be available tonight at the ImpStorm Command Site. Thanks to all
who took part and made the Exercise a success, and keep an eye open for an
all-new, improved ImpStorm II sometime in the future.

3) Commander Brakka has developed an Activity Tracking Record programme in
an effort to make Squadron Commanders' lives a lot easier. This is a highly
recommended programme for anyone who has to keep track of a Squadron's
activity, and can be downloaded in zip format from here (236K).

The ATR program is missing an essential file named MSVBVM60.DLL. Those who
have downloaded Visual Basic 6 programs in the past will not run into a
problem, since it already resides in their C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder. I have
been talking to quite a few TC pilots on IRC who have run into a missing DLL
error and thought it pertinent to point this out. I have a copy of a VB6

4) In order to gear up for the opening of the Fleet Naval Corps this
weekend, a message board has been created for the use of the Naval Corps
Officers. The new Board can be found here:

5) Interested armchair strategists can now see the Gamesmasters Chart of
events in Imperial Storm, showing exactly where each and every unit was
located, and what its orders were for the duration of the Exercise. An
explanation of Red Team's Battle Plan can also be viewed, and the Blue
Command Team will soon post a similar document for their Team. All documents
are available for the post-exercise debriefing at the Imperial Storm Command
Centre http://www.xtc56.dial.pipex.com/ImpStorm.htm.

6) Despite the large CLOSED sign over the door to the Echo Company Training
Barracks, it seems that people just can't take the hint and keep applying to
become the first ever EH Naval Cadets. Instead of fighting a losing battle
and continuing to reject these applications, I've decided to begin
processing Echo Company Training applications.

Yes, that's right, you may now apply for Fleet Naval Corps Training at the
PLT Daedalus Fleet Training Academy. However, applicants should be aware
that there will probably be a few days delay in receiving assignments to
your Naval Task Forces, since the Roster database revisions are not 100%
complete. Be patient, and watch this page for further news...

7) With the surprise resignation of Vice Admiral IQ Pierce, I've been forced
to select a replacement NAVCOM at very short notice. Luckily for the Naval
Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Freelancer was prepared to step into the gap. LC
Freelancer was with the original wargame design team that helped to work out
the rules to IQ Pierce's interactive wargaming system (e.g Imperial Storm
and Project Faithful), and the experience he brings will be a massive
advantage for the Naval Corps. He is hereby promoted to Vice Admiral and
appointed to the position of Naval Corps Commander.

8) Remember that it's an offence to register a clone pilot in the TIE Corps
without informing the Flight Officer of your duplicate character. Simply
email me letting me know who your second (or even third and fourth!)
characters are, and no action will be taken against you. In the case of
pilots applying to start Naval characters in Echo Company, simply state the
name of your TIE Corps character in the 'Notes' section of your application.

Finally, REMEMBER that if you wish to run a duplicate character in the EH in
any subgroup other than the Dark Brotherhood, you MUST apply with a seperate
email address and name for the new character. Apart from those restrictions,
you're all free to apply to Echo Company for Naval Officer training :)
