First off, I'd like to announce my resignation from Wing IV's Wing
Commander, effective immediately after this report. I've been in this
position for quite a while, and I feel it's time I move on. I've been
thinking about his for a long time. In my place, I'd like to name FL/CM Bret
K'thraz/Yod as my successor. More later.

WING NEWS:
1) We had a really good week, and we did rather well in Squadron League
Round 6 (see results I send out later). We had three new members join, and
several battle submissions.
2) Our competition with Wing V goes on for 10 more days! Remember, FREE-TIE
102 should be flown for high scores, and sent to me with your CMDR CC:ed. I
sent out tips earlier this week, so get flying!
3) Wing IV IRC Meeting tonight at 7:00 PM EST in #Wing_IV.. Some of you may
have problems because of Daylight Savings Time (Spring Ahead!) There will be
JK matches after the meeting tonight. Please read:
Well, another week, another match. We're having JK today at 8 PM EST
(Just after the meeting, if there's gonna be one :P). Anyway, we'll use
David's new level, if it's ready. If it isn't, we'll use the level
"Necropolis", from a guy called Tee. Now, I heard nice stuff about this guy,
so this level should be cool. But it's a rather large download, (970k), so
try to download it before the match, so we don't have to wait for you.
4) As you know, the entire Blue Force engaged two Red Force ISDs in Project
Phoenix. We totally destroyed all Red Force fighters and pilots, but in the
process, Wing IV lost a number of brave pilots. They are:

SHIP/FLEET NEWS:
1) Blue Forces celebrate their first victory on Day Four of the Battle
Exercise, with a crushing defeat of Red Force's garrison in the Pirath
system. Both of Red Teams' Star Destroyers, the ISDs Immortal and Grey Wolf,
along with their two escorts, the Frigates Ardent and Onamo were lost with
all hands.
Blue Teams' starfighter Squadrons did not escape without losses of their own
however, as Red Team's heavily outnumbered and outclassed fighter defences
fought to defend their motherships. Wing IV in particular took a mauling,
but all Blue Fighter Squadrons remain technically operational, if suffering
from combat losses.

2) Those who liked to look back into the history of events that have
happened in the TIE Corps in the past year would used put "1000" days in the
"View News" field. Now you can see past news items at the TIE Corps News

3) With the creation of the new Training Office, we also have a new method
of submitting your competitions for approval. This should result in faster
processing of your submissions now. The existing competition form link
available under your admin tools now redirects to the new one. The new form
is located at http://www.websamba.com/astatine/to/form.asp.
4) Admiral Howlader has announced a new medal that can be awarded by the
Combat Operations Officer (or his assistants) to an individual winning an
official multiplayer competition: The Distinguished Flying Cross.
The Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) is worth five Combat Rating points
each. Earning five DFCs will earn you the Bronze Wing add-on, receive ten
DFCs for the Silver Wing add-on, and receive twenty DFCs for the Gold Wing
add-on.
5) With Ricaud's transfer to become Prex of the Corporate Division, he will
be unable to continue my duties as Editor of Battlecry, the TIE Corps
Magazine. Accordingly, Staff Writer/Vice Admiral Theodore has assumed the
position of Editor. All submissions should now go to him ... though please
note that it is NOT necessary to re-submit articles already sent for Issue
#3; he has forwarded all materials in his posession to Vice Admiral Theodore
already.
6) As promised, Kessler has now chosen Vice Admiral Sarok's successor as
Battlegroup Commander of the Aggressor Strike Force. Your congratulations,
please... for Vice Admiral Priyum Patel, former Commodore of the ISD
Vanguard.
7) The Battlecry (Battlegroups magazine) is in need of a regular writer to
promote, monitor, and compile the Battlecry debates for publication. All

Wing Commanders,
As you doubtless are aware, Blue Forces under the combined command of R
FireFox (COM / SSD Avenger) and myself have entered hostile territory and
engaged the enemy. Combat took place tonight (Friday) and we were, as
expected, victorious!!!
The first wave of combat involved purely fighters, and was a landslide
victory for Blue Forces. Our fighters took out Red Forces eight best
Squadrons, and only lost seven T/Ds!! Incredible!!
The second and final wave of combat was not as clean a win. We lost one
Missleboat and twenty eight more T/Ds. However, Red Forces lost a lot more
-the remainder of their fighters and all four of their capital ships. The
M/FRGs Onamo and Ardent were left dead in space, the Grey Wolf lost her
pack, and the Immortal proved not to be so in the end.
Below, I've copied part of a report sent out that lists our pilots who gave
their lives for us. Funeral services are being held on the Tango deck, WCs
Ricardo and Starlion will be delivering the eulogies, as they were the WCs
who lost the most pilots.
Remember folks, it's not over yet. Stay sharp, and expect more victories
for Blue Forces as we continue Operation: Imperial Storm . . . :)
