Fleet News Summary
----------------------------------------------

1. First of all - is there anybody who wants to become CA:TO and work for Astatine? Well do not delay that 'cause TO is lloking for a dedicated Command Attach.
Applications should be mailed to the Training Officer (HA Astatine jpboyce@indigo.net.au) with the subject "CA:TO Application". Outline why you think you should get the job. Applications which include recommendations or references will be deleted. There is no set closing date for applications.

2. mIRC 5.81 released. A new 5.81 version of mIRC, the preferred IRC client for Windows users, is now available at their homepage at http://www.mirc.com/ .
I do not know yet the big difference between the new version and the one we all have, but a try is a try and why not download and install this new mIRC version.

3. Yet another big, cool and demanding position availible in the Fleet. If you are interested in the position of COOA please send an application to slookabill@home.com. The Requirements are:

*Online daily, and check e-mails daily
*Be familiar with WoW
*Be ready to help with any other tasks

This new COOA will deal with awarding the LoC's for WoW and possibily the DFC's.

Wing News

A quiet week ... hope simply because everybody is concentrated on flying TC TIE 138 for Colossus vs Avenger competition.


1. First I'd like to say we had quite a couple of changes between our CMDRs. Commander Kromtal Stormfyld is stepping down from his position due to RL grip. Sad to see such an officer go. However he will stay onboard Colossus and will continue to fight the Rebellion with the rest of Omicron squadron. Then there was Captain Jay Urick who was removed from his position of Pi Squadron Commander due to inactivity (he will remain in Pi squadron as 3-3).

The following Colossus pilots were appointed as CMDRs ...

Owen Nivarian - Pi Squadron
Devin McCloud - Omicron Squadron [pending approval from FO]

Both CMDRs were thrown in the Rancor pit and fought against Colossus own Rancor called Lucy. After proving that the both CMDRs are tough enough for their positions both were hang to the ceiling and pumped with the advanced DropDowns ...

2. Colossus vs Avenger. The Colossus Wings clash is running and this time its Avenger to burn down. The deadline is really close and I'm awaiting the CMDRs to send in competition reports as soon as they will collect all submissions from their squadrons. For those who forgot about Col vs Avenger - we are to fly TC TIE 138 before November 15th.

3. Battlegroups Ace Pilot League ( http://www.impstar.net/relentless/BGAPL/ ). New Colossus Ace competition was held between BGCOM Jarak and WC Chei-Ras. Your Wing Commander won the fight and now holds the title of Colossus Ace. Those of you wishing to defeat me in combat read the rules on the Ace League homepage (look in the beggining of this topic) and send a challenging letter to myself CC'ing BGCOM Jarak (the challenge will be open starting on wednesday).

4. This week our own Recruiting Office was working on the Colossus Recruiting mail. The letter was drafted by Dall Star and is now being revised and corrected by other CRO members. The time for new blood has come!

As taken from the CRO report this week:

"RO page is still not operational but I will give myself a kick and I will start to complete it this week and next week... Draft of CRO letter is attached and everyone who haven't received it before can read it now. Please send me all your remarks - I expect that I will receive mail from EVERYONE in this matter - even if there will be written only "No suggestions. Up from now I will attach to every weekly report modified PLT Daedalus Roster... how to use it you will read later... "

CRO is becoming more and more strong and structurized ... Dall Star is requesting 100% communication activity. He is encouraging other CRO members to engage in their main TC duties and activities.

5. Mu vs Pi competition is over. It was decided to take the highest score from each squad and compare them. Here are the results:

CPT Dark Talon = 46,148
CM RAF = 49,475

Congratulation to Pi squadron and especially Commander Raf who defended the honor of Pi and ripped the victory from the claws of Mu.

6. Tornado vs Omicron. Recent change of command in Omicron resulted in a little chaos within the squadron and probably that was the cause of low Omicron activity during the competition. Here are the results:

Squadrons summary

This was a trully quiet week as for I got a little communication both from CMDRs and the pilots. Two CMDRs stepped down, another one was on the leave ...

1. Mu squadron

Losing to Pi squadron in a friendly competition this week Mu squadron is drifting in the space. Dark Talon is trying to kick activity up ... he is also running the last elite squad competition in order to fill up the free spaces in Colossus Elite 12. Don't forget about your own squadron Talon ... whip 'em, smack 'em and make 'em rock n' roll !

2. Pi squadron

Commander position now belongs to the new pilot in Pi. He has already proved himself being enough competent in making squadron reports and now lets see if the new CMDR can rip Pi from the inactivity pit. For the competition with Mu squadron Pi had only 1 pilot file to turn in and the squadron must now hail CM Raf for his exellent score and Mu CMDR Dark Talon for proposing a "good for Pi" system of scoring.

3. Omicron squadron

I've seen no report from Omicron this week. KS stepped down due to real life issues. After the new CMDR for Omicron was chosen he is waiting only for FO official approval before starting planting his own policy in Omicron. Lets see what happens during his first week as CMDR

4. Iota squadron

Iota squadron is seriously concerned about getting all the possible citations in the fleet they could get. Currently they hold 48 citations and have nearly 32 battle waiting to be flown by only one pilot. Can anybody stop them?! With the new citations programm introduced by Commander Shae Kitane Iota will soon jump up the top in the Fleet citations list.

5. Eta squadron

This week Eta pilots were conserned about the return of their Commander, Troutrooper. When TT will discover ice tea on the lpace of fine brandy in his bar I'm afraid we won't see our assassins during the whole next week. On the more serious note: assassins are still designing their own special craft which will be called Tie Asassin (or T/Ass? ;P) . Eta CMDR Troutrooper is now very concerned with the inner squadron structure and he's willing to harden it up and making a solid base from the 5 pilots he has under his command. Way to go TT, and slap this SL you have in your squad ... becoming a LT is not that hard!
