Foreword

I've now been fully immersed in my office. That is to say, I'm all settled in :) Things haven't slowed down though, activity is up from last week and things are running a bit smoother now.

Wing News

- Just as he became Asp CMDR, CPT Hunter left. However, congrats still go to him on becoming the Fleet's newest Morale Officer. Congrats CPT Hunter!

- A new Asp CMDR should be selected soon, please be patient.

- RA Pel would like a new ISD Intrepid graphic to display on our message board. He will award a Palpatine Crescent for the best entry, and an Imperial Security Medal if he gets enough entries to have a second best. Each pilot may enter an unlimited number of times, but can only win once. Entries will be accepted up until February 5th.

- The Intrepid Ship-wide Competition is still running. It will be judged on an individual basis, all pilots are to fly XvT Free mission 2. The contest is started on Jan 22, and will run for two weeks, until February 5th (This Saturday). All pilots will submit their pilot files to their CMDR who will compile them to be sent to myself, and also fill out their BSF. All CMDRs will send their pilots in to WC Raith to be BSF'd.. as per normal procedure. Winner will receive a PC, and 2nd place an ISM.

- The ISD Intrepid still needs a new nickname. All submissions are to be sent to RA Pel (Palinathas@aol.com) and myself. (EH_Raith@yahoo.com) The winner will receive a Palpatine Crescent!

TIE Corps News

- If you want to apply to become the new Combat Operations Officer (COO), if you want to be the COO that gets this club to establish a strong presense of the Zone, if you're active, if you're willing to negotiate new battles and competitions between the EH and other Zone-based squadrons/fleets, and if you believe you're the right person for this job, e-mail Sector Admiral Compton and High Admiral Kawolski today!

- The first issue of Battlecry, the new TIE Corps magazine, is now available in both on-line and off-line formats at http://www.xtc56.dial.pipex.com/battlecry.htm. The off-line version, weighing in at just 333KB, does not include full graphics nor the voices for the XvT Mag Contest mission. AD Ricaud has done his best to balance style, content, and size, to encourage more people to download and read the mag (no awful 10MB Downloads). Thanks go to the Flight Office for invaluable support and hosting the mag, and Vice Admiral Sauron, for handling the missions and the contest. *Round of applause* :-)

- The Flight Office was today granted permission by the Fleet Commander to authorize the promotion of Vice Admiral Ricaud to the rank of Admiral. This promotion comes after several months' hard work promoting activity in the TIE Corps Battlegroups, and is well deserved. Congratulations, Admiral Ricaud.

- The "Contact Information" field is now being displayed on Personnel Profiles.

- New Restored Battle to the Fleet: TC-TIE #44: Military Complex Operation. This battle was recently known as MilCom-1 and flown during the first Sovereign Squadron League! If you have your pilot file for this battle (or, if you don't, you can prove you played this in the first SSL), you can now earn official credit and FCHG points for it. This battle is available to download at the Emperor's Hammer Battle Center.

- Congratulations to Vice Admiral Sauron, the new second Command Attaché for the Tactical Office!

- Have you got journalistic skills? Want to use them for the TIE Corps? Then this is your opportunity! Battlecry, the new TIE Corps Magazine, wishes to expand and take on three new staff members:

* Deputy Editor - responsible for publicising the Magazine and responding to queries on Fleet Message Boards, also takes over in case of any prolonged absence upon the Editor's part.
* Staff Writer A - must conduct monthly "official" interviews with major Fleet figures for each issue. Must demonstrate good inter-personal skills and knowledge of recent news.
* Staff Writer B - acts as a subadmin on the TC Magazine Debate Board (http://www.sitepowerup.com/mb/view.asp?BoardID=114602); decides monthly topics for debates, keeps the argument on the Board going, and writes up an article based upon the posts (and quoting from them) each issue.

All applications must be sent to the Editor, Vice Admiral Ricaud. References are not necessary. And past examples of work will, however, be appreciated.

- For CMDRs+: Now you can use the Personnel Search page to recommend medals or BSFs without having to pull up the pilot's Personnel Profile. However, this only works when you're logged in at administration.

- A bug that allowed Cadets to log into the TIE Corps Administration, edit their profile and submit battle reviews and bug reports has been fixed. Sorry Cadets...no tiecorps.org admin access until you become Sub-Lieutenants!

- There is currently a bug in the database that allows Flight Members and Flight Leaders access to recommend medals on the TIE Corps database if they are a ship doctor or flight nurse. Let it be known that ship doctors or flight nurses do NOT gain any special privledges when it comes to awarding medals. Their position on the ship (FM, FL, CMDR, WC, etc.) determines whether or not you may award a medal. Any Fleet Medical Personnel found abusing the database by trying to "sneak" in a medal request will automatically be banned from the using the database completely until the pilot is promoted to a position that allows him to recommend medals (CMDR+) or until the bug is fixed (and you won't just be banned from recommending medals, but banned from even logging in...and being banned will show up on your personnel profile). You have been warned! The Operations Office is backlogged with two weeks of medal requests to process which amounts into the hundreds and requires a good deal of time to do them. They don't need the extra workload of sifting through medal requests from doctors who are exploiting a bug on the database that allows them to recommend medals beyond what their primary position holds.

Emperor's Hammer News

- COO/FA Darkov has been chosen as the new Infiltrator Wing Commander. Congrats Darkov! (This also means we need a new COO :P)

- Former Asp Squadron Commander, Captain Hunter, has been selected to be the next Fleet Morale Officer. Congrats Hunter! :)

- Supreme Director of the Intelligence Division, VA Langer, has been promoted to Admiral. Congrats to him.

- Following review of several Applicants, the Fleet Commander has selected CPT Keiran Idanian as the new Fleet Commander's Attaché. The CA:FC's primary responsibility is to monitor the AOL EH Message Boards and to check the Domain for dead URL links. In addition, the CA:FC acts as a personal liaison to the Fleet Commander.

- AD Thrawn has been removed as President of the Corporate Division.

- If you're interested in writing for the EH Cosmo, or, more importantly, have an idea for the feature article, email FA Astatine (to@emperorshammer.org) and let him know.

- VA Blackbird is the new Command Attaché to the Operations Officer. Congrats to him.

Combat Operations Office News

- The EH wins another victory at Outer Rim Night for the Emperor's Hammer. EH: 49 | RS: 34 | TIE: 3. That is seven wins in a row now for the EH. Keep it up. LoC's will be awarded as per normal.

- The XvT Week of War has ended, the EH finished with a club ranking of 44th out of 112 clubs, and a total score placing of 40th out of 112 clubs. Well done to all those who took part. The XWA WoW is currently in progress, lets see if we can improve on our club ranking for it.

- I'd like to start some sort of 'recruiting campaign' to raise the number of pilots on the Intrepid. I'll be recruiting like mad, e-mailing prospective Bravo Company Cadets and talking to real life friends that might join. I also ask the rest of the wing to help in this... It is feasible that we might award people for bringing a certain number of pilots aboard the Intrepid, (In addition to the MoI that you would get) so start recruiting and talking to Cadets! Lets see if we can get this ship full enough to open Diamondback squadron!
