WC/MAJ Proton reporting on 1-6-01 for Wing V aboard the SSSD Sovereign:

Major Proton studied the first of two dossiers queued on his desk's communication terminal. He had his stern game face on, as usual, but inside he was excited. A breakthrough was being achieved in his search for new wing commander assistants to help him keep order in Wing V and carry out special missions aboard the SSSD Sovereign.
A massive Tusken raider stood before him, looking extremely uncomfortable but still able to remain in place. Then the creature looked around nervously, threateningly. Sand streamed from his ragged clothing with each movement.
Proton nodded to Snippy the probe droid, who instantly emitted a bolt of high-intensity energy that enveloped the raider's head. The sand creature, seared by the bolt, resumed a sullen but docile posture.
"Dude. You will get more comfortable with us. Relax." Proton regarded the raider severely. "You will be a tremendous asset to my operations, and you will be rewarded very well ... if you follow my orders to the letter."
Snippy's energy nozzle blipped, and the Tusken raider flinched.
"OK, Dude, time for you first assignment," Proton ordered. "Take that 55-gallon drum of sand and insect parts to The Pit. Dump the contents in the chamber. The commodore's scorpions will enjoy it. Leave the drum outside CCK's office. It has our markings on it, so the commodore will know where it came from."
The raider grunted.
"What?"
"Gnoook," Dude mouthed, louder this time. He gave a sandy salute, grabbed his huge blaster rifle and stomped out of the WC's office. A few seconds later he shambled back in, glancing at Proton and Snippy, and picked up the drum, then left.
Proton grinned. "Snippy, good work. Now, send Leroy in."

- Recruiting operations continue to go very well in Wing V! Activity is tremendous in most areas! Everything is looking better and I appreciate the efforts of all parties.

- Wing V January contest: Fly TC-TIE Battle 157, Operation Zupa. Winner will receive a PC and the runnerup will get an ISM. Pilot files are due to CMDRs by Jan. 29, to me by midnight Jan. 30. All necessary files can be downloaded from the Wing V page.

MISCELLANEOUS
- SA Kawolski reports: Wing rosters now have a link to list combat ratings of all the pilots in the wing. Also, the Squadron Citations page has been updated to include a total count of the number of citations held by each squadron.
- For CMDRs, SA Kawolski reports: Now when you want to remove that AWOL pilot or you get a request for your pilot to transfer to the reserves, you can use the online Removal Request Form. The form is still rather new, so if you notice any bugs or problems, please report them to SA Kawolski.
- Also for CMDRs and WCs, SA Kawolski reports: After a long wait, the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter BSF forms that allow you to upload an XvT pilot file is now up and running! They're not ready for Balance of Power, though.
