WC/MAJ Proton reporting on 1-13-01 for Wing V aboard the SSSD Sovereign:

The jawa aimed his blaster at the probe droid. Snippy beeped in alarm, and knocked the blaster barrel up so it pointed at the bulkhead instead.
"Leroy, you would do well to stay on Snippy's good side," Major Proton told the hostile little jawa. "He is my senior assistant, and you and Dude remain on apprentice status. Just watch yourself."
Leroy chittered, nodded, then assumed an at-ease pose.
Dude, the Tusken raider, banged through the door of Proton's office clasping CM Xavier Sienar by the neck. He unceremoniously tossed Sienar into the stasis cell in the office corner.
The Tusken wiped his hands in satisfaction and shambled over to stand alongside Leroy.
"He tried to kill you?" Proton asked Dude.
The Tusken grunted affirmatively.
The wing commander shook his head and glared at the Nun CMDR. "Xavier, you're doing 48 hours in there for assaulting one of my personal assistants. And the next time it's seven days in The Pit for you."
Xavier blanched, and sputtered, "I'm cool, WC ..." Gulp. "No more 'next times' here, if that's what it will mean."
"Good, by Palpatine," Proton replied.
The major regarded his three assistants, together for the first time on active duty for security and espionage duties in Wing V aboard the behemoth SSSD Sovereign. Leroy, Snippy and Dude -- Proton's 'LSD' enforcement squad -- were up for the task, the WC was sure.

WING NEWS AND STATUS
- Wing V January contest: Fly TC-TIE Battle 157, Operation Zupa. Winner will receive a PC and the runnerup will get an ISM. Pilot files are due to CMDRs by Jan. 29, to me by midnight Jan. 30. All necessary files can be downloaded from the Wing V page.
- Announcing the Wing V Chronicles activity! Sadhe Squadron's Adventures serve as the first element of what hopefully will be a long-running fictional exercise for the wing. See the attachment, and get creative! CMDRs, please gauge interest and organize contributions from your squadrons. Once all squadrons have made significant contributions to the Chronicles, awards will be determined and the entire project will be submitted to the EH and TC newsletters.
- Coming in February: An expanded version of the monthly Wing V contest. The competition will include flight, mission creation, graphics and fiction categories. Details to come later.

- CM Ramos Kanzco reports: Now that New Years has passed by and the fact we are a week into the year 2001, the Logistics Office has come back from the dead and several setbacks to bring to you many new projects. The biggest of which is to be announced later in the week. Moving on, The LO needs your help in gathering fiction, graphics, old rosters, INPRs, Personal Histories, Ship Histories, Subgroup Histories, Monumental EH desicions, Wing Histories, Squadron Histories, Histories of CS officers, old Subgroup manuals, old subgroup webpages, old subgroup commander histories, and anything else you think can be essential or non essential in helping the Logistics Office in archiving the history of the EH. Eventually after we collect all this data it will be submitted to the Training Office for placement in the EH Encyclopedia(being compiled by HA Astatine).

Also a plan is in the works to appoint a ship/wing historian to compile their wing/ship's history into one large work and submit it to the LO. We need many people to help out with this so if you could email Commander Ramos Kanzco and tell him if you are interested in becoming your ship's historian. This will be an unofficial posistion and will not be added to your ID line.
