1. Introduction.
As many of you have heard, I have been appointed as the Commander of Wing VI.
I hope to turn this wing into the envy of the Sovereign.
But let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I joined the TIE Corps three years ago, in February of 1999. I was posted to Nun Squadron,
Wing V. In May of 1999, I was given command of Aylin Squadron, Wing V, a post I held four
most of the last 2 and ½ years.
Mundanely, I am an archaeologist and have interests varying from prehistory, History of the
American West, World War II, and Medieval History (to say nothing of Sci-Fi and Star Wars.)
I am 40 years old, married and have fathered four children, and at one time my wife and two of
my sons were also in the TIE Corps.

2. WING NEWS AND STATUS
A. MSE’s and Reports
I have received the February MSE for February from Tav and Shin Squadrons and wait with
great anticipation for the remainder of the reports.
I have received this weeks squadron reports from Tav and Shin squadron and await the rest with
equally great anticipation.

B. Communications
I sent out a Wing Wide Comm check this last week. Less than 10 pilots responded.
However, I added a couple that I knew posted some sort of email. We have 25 pilots, including
myself. The results of this test are not acceptable. Pay heed to my standing orders stated
elsewhere in this report.

I’m at grvsmith for AIM, grvsmith@hotmail for MSM, Frideger2001 for Yahoo Messenger, and
I do have ICQ, but rarely use, and will “”“”re re re”“” download mIRC and ask for my password
again (I hate computer crashes....).
At this time I have no set wing meeting and do not know of set squadron meetings on IRC.

5. WING VI STANDING ORDERS.
A. Communications
i. All members are required to maintain contact with their assigned unit in the TIE Corps with at
least ONE email per month. (This is paraphrased from the TIE Corps Rules and Regulations).
ii. All official communications opening with the term
ID/signature line require a response.
iii. The Wing VI egroup mailing list is an official resource for orders and news of the wing.
However, until this order is rescinded it is also to be used for fun and games. Those that have
problem with the amount of mail that this generates are encouraged to switch their mailing
preference to either daily digest or read on the web.
(DO NOT USE THE egroup TO RESPOND TO OFFICIAL MAIL, REPLY TO THE SENDER!)
iiii. All members of the wing are encouraged (not required) to get AIM, Yahoo Messenger,
MSM, ICQ or mIRC. I have all of these (and shall have to reinstall mIRC....::grumbles::).
B. Flight Duties
i. At this time, pilots are encouraged to participate in all open competitions and also to do at
least one independant TIE Free Mission a month. ((Again, this is not required.))
C. Reporting Duties.
i. Squadron Commanders are required to submit weekly reports no later than Sunday morning at
11:59am Eastern Standard Time.
ii. Squadron Commanders are required to submit Monthly Squadron Evaluations no later than
the last day of each calendar month.
