Wing IV News
1) Dust off your copies of XWA, your gonna need em, we got an incoming comp from Wing III, the details are below
This will be a three week competition between Wings III and IV using the XWA platform.
Starting on the 20th of April, every pilot in both wings would fly an XWA free mission. They would have one week to fly it and submit their pilot files to the VA Proton hullbreach@aol.com for scoring. The average of the pilot files score would be determined for each wing, and the wing with the highest average would win that round.
The first wing to win two rounds would win the competition. The pilot in each Wing with the highest total score (score from each round added up), will be awarded an IS-SW, the runner up in each Wing will be awarded an IS-BW.
There is a friendly side wager running, that the winning wing commander will be able to choose the ship type and name of the loosing wing commander for one month. I will also get the drinks in for one month should we win this thing, remember that is a lot of booze, I hope the Wing IV Cantina can cope ;P
The first Mission that VA Proton has chosen is XWA-FREE 40 which is attached below and you have till the 27th April to fly it and get your pilot files over to him.
So jump to it Pilots, lets kick some ass :))
2) Yod and Lamed are squaring off against each other. The comp is in 2 parts the details are below.
ell, this announcement comes a little late, but here it is..
The Yod vs. Lamed Competition.
First, the mandatory part.. flying TIE-TC 190 (ATTACHED). This is a pretty
short battle, and I need everyone to fly this for sure.
Then, the second section, fiction. I encourage you all to participate, and
create a story about the arrival and welcome to our new comrades in Zayin,
who were from Wing VI. You can choose any style of writing on that topic.
All entries due by 30 April. Awards (pending TO approval): Iron Star -
Bronze Wingsfor flight, Iron Star-Bronze Ribbon for fiction.
Files are due very soon (sorry again).. April 30th.
3) SSSD SOVEREIGN RED ALERT
Imperial Storm III is beginning. The Sovereign task force's opening position has been tramsitted to the War Officer, and operations commence on Monday.
The task force is under RED ALERT, and ALL XWA and TIE pilots are expected to be ready for combat on short notice -- and they are expected to engage in combat when ordered.
We have a mighty task force and a good battle plan. There is no reason we should not defeat the other three task forces in this operation, if we all participate and do our best.
Pilots, your ship's pride is at stake. The SSSD Sovereign is the flagship of the Emperor's Hammer, the best Star Wars club in existence. The Sov is The Pride of the Fleet. I am counting on everyone on the ship to rise to this challenge and work together to propel us to victory in the war game.
We will keep you closely posted to developments, as will the War Office and Flight Office. Stay on your toes and be ready for battle!
You can expect news from myself, the A-TFA, GN SickMan, the expert XWA and TIE tactical teams (who will be building XWA skirmish files and editing TIE missions that will be flown by our forces in combat). You also will receive top-flight journalism from the war front by MAJ Mike of Lambda Squadron, deadline reporter and editor for our ship during the war.

4) The 1st May sees the start of a internal Wing IV Comp, suffice to say the rewards are pretty good, stand by your fighters, more details to follow soon ;))
5) The deadline for Kaph Commander has been and gone. I have selected the successful candidate and it is currently pending FO approval. As soon as I hear back from FA Priyum, I will let you know.

1) TIE Corps Battlegroups Commander Resigns

As many of you will know by now, a couple of days ago, Admiral Mell announced his decision to step down as BGCOM of the TIE Corps Battlegroup. During the time he held the position, Mell proved himself many times over to be one of the hardest working and most dedicated people in the EH, and we're all sorry to lose him.
A new BGCOM will be announced very shortly - please do NOT send me any applications for the position.

As promised, I've decided on a new BGCOM for the TIE Corps Battlegroups: Many congratulations go out to the former Wing VIII Wing Commander, Vice Admiral Drake! Apart from coming highly recommended from the departing BGCOM, I've known Drake and his work for a while, and I'm more than confident that he has the motivation and abilities to make an excellent BGCOM. Congrats Drake!
