3) We are still the smallest Wing on the Sov, with just 34 pilots, so this may be the incentive you need to recruit.

SSSD Sovereign Recruiting Competition

This is a competition to increase the membership of the SSSD Sovereign. There are three categories:

-- Recruitment Web page. Create a personal, flight, squadron or wing recruitment page(s). Teams of pilots may collaborate or this may be done individually. Iron Stars will be awarded to up to the top three entrants. Deadline: midnight May 31. Send zipped entries or URLs to VA Proton at hullbreach@aol.com

-- Recruitment campaign. Create an outline of the perfect recruiting campaign. Demonstrate in writing how your individual, flight, squadron or wing will conduct its campaign to fill and maintain its ranks. Iron Stars will be awarded to up to the top three entrants. Deadline: midnight May 31. Send entries (text files) to VA Proton at hullbreach@aol.com

-- Total number of recruits. The top three individual recruiters (as reflected in actual pilots recruited and placed on the ship (MoIs) will be awarded Iron Stars. The top recruiting squadron and wing each will be designated "Commodore's Own" for one month and carry commensurate benefits in the ship's cantina.

Deadline: midnight June 30.

Also I would advise mailing any old Wing IV'ers that are currently in the reserves, from what I understand CPT Morth (Yod) may already be starting something along these lines. If you want any help Morth just let me know ;)

So get out there and lets see if we can get some new blood into the Wing, if you would like an example mail to send Cadets let me know and I can forward you one ;)

Ship/Fleet News

1) EH Holonet Awards
11:56 - FA Ari [ari@tiecorps.org]
After months of planning, the EH Holonet Awards have finally begun! They are a chance for you to vote on the sites you think are the best! The first stage is the Nominations stage, which will last for two weeks. You may nominate more than one site, but each site must be in a different awards category. Nomination standards (highly recommended that you read them, because if the site does not comply, it will be rejected) and awards descriptions are on the main EHHA site. All sites MUST be in compliance with the Internet Guidelines.
The main EHHA site is located at http://ehha.stardestroyer.org. Thanks to IOA Alex Foley for creating and coordinating the EHHA.

08:27 - FA Striker [striker@tiecorps.org]
Tadaaaa ! The Tactical Office presents you the Golden Tug Awards ! These new awards will be given for the best battles released over a particular year. Imperial Storm News

1) We won today's battle by forfeit. The whining and incompetent (whotta combination) BGs TFA/TAC team did not get their files ready in time so automatically lost.

This may be a mixed blessing for us ... I think we would have lost the battle, although this forfeit removes any chance that we would have taken out the Colossus this time, and Stele thinks we could have done so.

Anyway, it's back to action on this and other fronts. As always, be ready for action!

I also want to give slaps on the back all around for the outstanding turnout at today's battle! We had more than a dozen Sov pilots and several other observers on hand, far outshowing the BGs. The BGs rank-and-file noticed our strength, too.

Last but not least, hail to our expert TACs, COL Stele and CPT Killer, who as usual had us ready for combat with plenty of time to spare and great tactical work!

GO, SOV!!!

COM/VA Proton/SSSD Sovereign

2) The Sovereign vs. BattleGroups battle set for today is over. The Battlegroups failed to meet the deadline for the TIE mission, the time for the battle was upon us, and the misison was still not done. According to the rules, failure to deliver TIE or XWA missions on time, is considered to be a withdrawal from the combat, at usual losses (25% the size of the enemy fleet, in points). This means that time is resumed, the BG will have to retreat, and we can start. I will re-issue Turn 9 results tonight, and expect Turn 10 orders on Sunday night (by midnight eastern). The game will not stop for the US holiday this weekend.
