SPECIAL NEWS
I’m taking from the 26th of June to the 8th of July off in real life (as our firm doesn’t want to pay
us double time for working July 4th. During this time, I have no competitions slated, except that
I would like to fly against the rest of the Wing in the Free Mission challenge. This gives you 11
days to find a good one.
During this extended leave, since I may or may not have ready access to a computer (I may have
to camp out in the mountains or even visit Yellowstone Park...I haven’t decided yet.), I have
appointed LC Freelancer to be my Aide-de-Camp/XO. His job is just to babysit you guys so you
don’t feel all alone while I’m gone.
Squadron commanders, you are to submit your weekly reports as usual as well as the Monthly
Squadron Evaluation. If they’re not on my desk when I get back you will get to clean up VA
Proton’s Guano bins, as well as polish the mirrors on the Axial Superlaser.
WING COMMANDER’S OWN
As stated in an email, earlier this week, I’m not sure we’re active enough to “deserve” the fame
and accolade due to having a Wing Commander’s Own Squadron. However, I shall relent in the
hopes that jealousy and pride just might increase activity within the wing.
My choice was based upon the following criterium:
1. Overall activity of the squadrons.
2. Actions taken by members of the squadron to encourage cameraderie and activity.
3. Email and Instant Messaging of individuals (whether in response to me, or initiated by the
squadron members).
The choice of Wing Commander's Own was NOT based primarily on activity of the
Commanders nor on flying.
So without any further ado:

CPT Argon, due to the exemplary behavior of your pilots (outside of the cantina), I am awarding
your squadron the title of Wing Commander’s Own for the Month of June 2002. You and your
men may display this title beneath your ID lines on all official TIE Corps emails.
I used to have a copy of the WC Own wings patch around here somewhere, but I can’t find it.
So create a real cool one, so that we might create a page on the Wing I site, to list such awards.
COMPETITIONS
A. I have turned over the results I have garnered from the the Wing I vs Wing II competition.
I have only the flight portion details. I have NOT RECEIVED A SINGLE fiction submission.
I have also received the results from Wing II. They had more pilots participate, as well as a very
good fiction submission.
So it appears that we have lost, miserably.
Stay tuned to our message board for the new color, as well as our new motto.
B. The Wing Commander vs the Wing comp is piddling along. You choose the free mission.
The comp has been approved by the training office, so all of you that defeat me will win an IS-
BW! Last week there was one challenge, but this week, none.

CM Bonzo defeated me on TF-176 (74,769 to 2,856)...he’s now a permanent LCM for choosing
this mission

LT Nash has challenged me to TF-8, and I’m awaiting his pilot file.
CM Gyssler challenged me to XWAF-67 and I’m awaiting BSF confirmation.
LT Kreiven challenged me to TF-199 and I’m awaiting BSF confirmation.
E. Omega Squadron challenge. Round One was disappointing, with only 11 entries. However,
5 of those were from Wing I (Woo Hoo!! Hoo-Ray!!). The pilots flying for us were:

Round Two has started. Pilots are to fly TC-TIE #19 and submit the .tfrs to me and GN Deven

E. Pending Free Mission comp vs Hope Wing of the Rebel Squadrons.
Mission is in testing.

B. COMMUNICATIONS
1 - A meeting was held in #Wing_I on mIRC this past Friday. 6 Personnel, including myself
attended. The subject brought up by LCM Blaine was recruitment. The consensus is that
although it would be nice to get cadets from the Daedalus, they don’t seem to paying us much
attention. Therefore there will be an orchestrated effort to approach reservists on the Phoenix.
LCM Blaine will be in charge of this effort.

SL Hendl Fin`Rotha is assigned to Delta Squadron 1-3.
SL Blaze Glaxu was promoted to Lieutenant.

5. WING I STANDING ORDERS.
A. Communications
i. All members are required to maintain contact with their assigned unit in the TIE Corps with at
least ONE email per month. (This is paraphrased from the TIE Corps Rules and Regulations).
ii. All official communications opening with the term
ID/signature line require a response. This is mandatory on a one link up manner. FL respond to
CMDR/FL, CMDR respond to WC, etc.
iii. The Wing I egroup mailing list is an official resource for orders and news of the wing.
However, until this order is rescinded it is also to be used for fun and games. Those that have
problem with the amount of mail that this generates are encouraged to switch their mailing
preference to either daily digest or read on the web.
(DO NOT USE THE egroup TO RESPOND TO OFFICIAL MAIL, REPLY TO THE SENDER!)
iiii. All members of the wing are encouraged (not required) to get AIM, Yahoo Messenger,
MSM, ICQ or mIRC. I have all of these and shall show up now and then on mIRC, but
unfortunately my RL job entails that I shall not be able to make meetings except on a biweekly
basis.
B. Flight Duties
i. At this time, pilots are encouraged to participate in all open competitions and also to do at
least one independent TIE Free Mission a month. ((Again, this is not required.))
C. Reporting Duties.
i. Squadron Commanders are required to submit weekly reports no later than Sunday morning at
11:59am Eastern Standard Time.
ii. Squadron Commanders are required to submit Monthly Squadron Evaluations no later than
the last day of each calendar month.
