General Information


I had thought this was going to end as a slow week, but in fact for me at least it turned into a blitz of work for the old Wing Commander. :P I’ve got a few things to cover regarding some changes that are happening within the Wing Command Staff. First, CPT Caltin Doros contacted me early in the week and notified me that he was going to have to step-down as CMDR of Cobra Squadron. His reasons are sound, and like the great officer he is, Caltin decided that if he continued serving as CMDR he would only harm Cobra’s activity and morale, and has instead allowed the COM and WC to place the future of Cobra into someone else’s hands. CPT Doros has decided to remain in Cobra as a FM, so neither Cobra nor Wing XIV will be denied his skills as a pilot! The new CMDR of Cobra Squadron will be announced later this next week after the FO has approved the replacement. In the meantime CPT Doros will remain as CMDR, and this will allow him the opportunity to finish any last duties he has and make way for a smooth transition for the new CMDR. J

CPT John Clark contacted me while I was in the midst of putting the finishing touches on this report to inform me that he needed to request a transfer to the Reserves due to RL circumstances as well. I honor CPT Clark for his decision and hope that he is able to return to duty in Wing XIV as soon as possible. In the meantime the COM and WC have selected a new CMDR, and we are only awaiting the approval of the FO. In the meantime LCM Gistenjunge will oversee Squadron operations until the new CMDR arrives.

CoL Recommendations have been sent to the COM. Since I was only allowed to submit three, I had a tough time deciding on who should be recommended. In the end the COM and I came to agree on the three we should submit to the BGCOM so that made the effort a little easier. My thanks to the CMDR’s who did take a few minutes to send me their recommendations. Your comments helped the COM and I a little bit more on our decisions. J

The Recruiting Competition has ended, and amazingly enough we actually have a winner! Congrats to CPT Delak Krennel on winning 1st place in the Wing XIV Recruiting Competition and a shiny new IS-SR! Unfortunately we didn’t have a 2nd place winner, so the IS-BW won’t be handed out. L I’d really like to see some motivation and commitment to recruiting new pilots, so lets get busy and keep increasing our numbers! ;)

I can’t go much further in this report without announcing this major news item! This week our own LCM Tissaya Argat was promoted to the rank of full Commander! I’ve watched Tissy with great interest as she’s developed as both a pilot and officer in the TIE Corps. I feel honored to have such a great pilot serving in Wing XIV, and I’m looking forward to seeing even greater things from her in the future! Congrats Tissy on a well earned promotion!! The next round of drinks are on CM Tissaya Argat! J

Looks like things are really starting to heat up in the Wing XIV CR rankings! MAJ Archon has pushed CPT Michael out of the Top 5, and he also seems to be quickly gaining on CPT Nightmare! I really like to see the Top 5 rosters get shaken up each week! hehehe

I’d like everyone, (that is either alive or not on leave that is :P), to give a warm welcome to CM Kettch! CM Kettch has decided that he’s had enough of live on the EH luxury liner known as the Sov, and has decided to leave his berth in Wing V and Sadhe Squadron to join us here in Wing XIV! Welcome to the ISD Intrepid and Wing XIV Kettch, now you’ll get to see how the other side of the TIE Corps really lives! Hehehe I meant to ask Kettch, did you by any chance fly those SP Battles for the Wing V vs. Wing XIV Comp yet? If not we’ll be happy to accept them over here. ;)

I’ve also been informed that CM Devin Taralis has requested a transfer from the Reserves to Copperhead Squadron! This is great news since we can always use experienced and skilled pilots to fill our ranks, and you can usually find them sitting in the Reserves. ;)



Wing News

· CMDR/CPT Caltin Doros will be resigning as CMDR of Cobra Squadron very soon. L
· CMDR/CPT John Clark has resigned as CMDR of Asp Squadron. A new CMDR will be appointed very soon.
· MAJ Frodo is creating a new XvT Battle relating to the career history of your Wing Commander! I’ve also suggested he make one for our COM! ;)
· Welcome CM Kettch, formerly of Sadhe Squadron in Wing V! Yes, you read right, we’ve attracted a pilot from Wing V and Sadhe Squadron! It really makes the COM and I nostalgic of the old days. LOL
· Congratulations to CM Tissaya Argat on her recent promotion!
· Only 4 days left until the end of the Wing V vs. Wing XIV Comp! Get those pilot files submitted ASAP!!

Wing Competitions


· Wing V vs. Wing XIV Competition! That’s right ladies and gents, we are about to take on Wing V, the former Wing of your WC and COM! Essentially the details are very simple; fly XvT-TC #38, and XWA-TC #29 in the SP events. You are permitted to fly in both platforms. The Top winner in each platform will be awarded the IS-SW! The second place finisher in each Wing will each be awarded an IS-BW! We will also be running a MP segment, in which the Top Ace pilot who wins the most LoC’s during the comp period will be awarded an IS-SW! And the second place finishers in each Wing will receive an IS-BW! The full details can be found at http://www.emperorshammer.net/to/compdetails.asp?ID=1874, so everyone prepare to go to war! The competition will run from 7/10/02 – 8/7/02! CMDR’s will submit and track each pilot’s results and then submit a final report to me by 8/8/02!
