WING COMMANDER'S CORNER

After last month exploits, the expected fall it activity has occured, but hopefully this won't last for long. While another record month is out of the question, i'd like to see us break the 1k barrier. We're on target for about 800 missions so far, so we need a little kick.

If there are any new (or not so new) pilots who want to make a namr for themselves, then this is the time to do it. Take a look at the PoM scores in the Competitions section, they're still quite low, and the top 6 only has one former PoM winner. The door is wide open.

On another note, recruitment.

We're currently the biggest wing in the battlegroup, and 3rd biggest in the entire fleet, I'd like to see this continue. If you're short on things to do then go recruit. Pick a cadet off the Daedalus roster and make contact. Under recruitment rules you can't ask them to join your wing/squadron, but there's no reason not to make friends with them. And if that happens they may choose to come here.

The list of points for SoM and PoM below will be not be in the next report. I'm updating the stats page so you can see the points system there.

Squadron of the Month + Pilot of the Month:
The standard points system is 1 point per mission flown.

BONUS POINTS:
IWATS courses passed (10 pts per course)
LoCs won (5 pts per LoC)
DFCs won (50 pts per DFC)
Iron Stars (Bronze 10pts, Silver 25pts, Gold 50pts, Platinum 100pts)
MoT all types (green hammer 25pts, red hammer 60pts)
High score in a Mission/Battle (5pts)
Graphics, a maximum of one per pilot per week to be graded on a
scale.
Fiction, a maximum of one per pilot per week to be graded on a
scale.

GRAPHICS/FICTION SCALE:
0 - 0pts, 1 - 10pts, 2 - 25pts, 3 - 35pts, 4 - 50pts, 5 - 75pts

Submissions will also be submitted to the wing for voting, first place in each category will receive Services to Art and Services to Literature awards.


WEEKLY FLYING MEDALS:
ISM for 25 missions
PC for 45 missions
BS for 80 missions

Petition for a sequel to TIE Fighter

There is an online petition to LucasArts for creation of a sequel to TIE Fighter. You all being loyal Imperial pilots, I am sure that is one of the long term goals of your life :)

XO's comment - I don't really think I need to tell everyone how important a new TIE game would be for the TIE Corps and the EH as a whole. Currently, we have a situation where our primary platform, TIE Fighter, is becoming very hard to acquire and even harder to run on modern systems. XvT had multiplayer, but not very good singleplayer and, from what I've been told, network code that isn't exactly that hot. XWA has the eyecandy, it runs on modern systems and OSes, but it has issues of modification and the Rebel setting. With some recent PC releases such as JK2 and SWGB, Lucasarts is finally loosening the bonds and allowing fans to create content. This could factor into a new TIE game, so go put your name on the petition.
