Wing III Weekly Report #9
by LC Thorn

EL COMMANDANTE'S OFFICE

greetings and welcome to new Wing Report.
this time not only it's late (i wrote it
once, but floppy disc has crashed and i
had no other copy), but also it's short.
hehehe... i wanted to give you enough time
to read the last one ;)
i have one week until the exam and today
i'm going on leave. that doesnt mean i
wont read mails, but i cant get my attention
involved both in exam and running the Wing.
that's why LC Josh Popelka will take over
the commmand as A-WC. the exam is thursday
next week, and i should be back right after
it's over. dont miss me - i'll be still watching
and recieving reports, but i'll act only when
it's serious. so if you have something important
dont hasitate to mail me. Commanders' BSFs should
be send to AD Proton - he'll do them.
now lets get down to
the news...

WING NEWS

- our competition against Wing IV continues.
i dont know how many W4ers flew the missions, but
i got only 2 submissions for XWA (from CM Drak and
LT Tolbr) and one for TIE (mine). obviously i'm not
happy with that. wake up and fly! nevermind my leave
i'll be checking your files for this competition.
deadline is september the 14th. for those who forgotten
or dont know yet - missions to fly are TIE-FREE 215 and
XWA-FREE 100. fly for the glory of our Wing!

- looks like Aleth will be closed. sad event, but we
have no other choice. i hope i'll have the honour of
reopening it one day. CM Pokemaster will be transfered
to Hey Squadron and LT Dark Iceman to Beth Squadron.
dont stop recruiting!

- Operations Office is still TBA, what makes me really
mad. but i cant question superiors' decisions. awards
for July are still waiting and those for August will
join them in few days. lets hope OPS will be chosen soon.
until that time we all have to be patient to see whether
our efforts for past months will be awarded or not.

- great congratulations to those who have been awarded
Commendations of Loyality. twice a year this award is
been given to most loyal and dedicated officers of EH.
i'm glad all reccomendations from our Wing have been
approved. congratulations to CM Pokemaster, CM Drak and
CM Dan Jenkins (only CMs!). you're examples to follow!

- nevermind my leave this week i'll be sending Trivia
questions. after seeing emptiness on irc in trivia time
Drak and i decided we'll move it to email. stay sharp.
Iron Stars are waiting!

- our homesite will be operational again soon. with my
little knowledge about web design i was helpless, but
now LT Tolbr volunteered (shhh Tolbr! dont tell them
about my torture chamber!)...ehem...VOLUNTEERED to take
care of it. i hope we'll see the site once again!

- activity in August was pathetic, maybe due to vacations,
but fact remains - it was very low. with one shining exception.
my personal congratulations to whole Gimel Squadron for
exceptional service in August. great flying and great activity.
that's how a squadron should look like. only 5 pilots flew
anything in August - 3 of them were Gimelers! i'd like to point
alst that CPT Keller is the only Commander, who manages to keep
contact with all pilots from his squadron. great work Gimel!
you'll surely be awarded. and keep it up! and my personal
praise on LT Tolbr, who shows his flying skills and scholar
activity from the very beginning and also shows that he'd like to
perform many activities for the glory of the Wing and his Squadron.
good to see you in our Wing, Lieutanant!
i expect everyone to follow Gimel's example. here's a brief example
what should your activity be (data from August MWE) ;) :
CM Pokemaster/Beth - 9 battles, 35 FREE missions
CPT Keller/Gimel - 3 battles, 1 FREE mission
LT Shion/Gimel - 6 battles, 1 FREE mission
LT Tolbr/Gimel - 3 battles, 1 FREE mission, 3 IWATS courses
...
...
...
LC Thorn/Wing 3 - 26 battles, 1 IWATS course :P

- Imperial Storm wargame is coming real soon!

SHIP NEWS

hehehhehe....i guess i'll follow my Commanders' example:
"READ SHIP REPORT!" ;)

TIE CORPS NEWS

Apostasy Reminder
10:46 - AD Keldorn Cochrane [gmf@kweeky.net]
A reminder to all that the Training Office competition 'Apostasy' will end this Friday (12th September). Details at http://www.emperorshammer.ca/comps_apostasy.html.

I can tell you all now, however, that there are is at least one event in each category with no submissions - this would mean that if anyone was indeed to submit something, they may win themselves a prolific award by default. Now isn't that both a frightening and strangely comforting idea. Submit some more entries, Ladies and Gents!

Commodore Appointments
06:54 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
As was announced at last night's TIE Corps meeting, the new Commodores have been decided. Many congratulations go out to:

Rear Admiral Locke Setzer - ISD Immortal
Rear Admiral Phantom - ISD Relentless

Myself and AD Krax received many fine applications for the positions, but these two individuals stood out as the best Officers for the job. Congrats!

Sovereign League XWA Battle Creation Contest
10:34 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
The SSSD Sovereign Squadron League coordinators are pleased to announce a battle creation competition leading up to the SSL 2004. The Sovereign League XWA Battle Creation Contest runs through 12/31/2003, and is open to all XWA mission creators in the TC.

Entrants must create a four-mission XWA battle, absolutely without patches, for use in the SSSD Sovereign League 2004.

The competition has four monthly rounds; each month, a "best battle" will be selected by the Sovereign League judges. The winner of each round will receive an IS-GR; runner-up, IS-SR; and third place, IS-BR.

The SSL judges desire to use high-quality XWA battles for the SSL 2004. XWA creators will construct one or more four-mission battles (no less or more than four missions); absolutely no patches are to be used with the battles. Top battles will be judged by the SSL staff, then sent off to the TAC office. The TAC has agreed to accelerate testing and confirmation of the winning battles so they will be available in the compendium in time for the start of the SSL 2004 in January. Medals awarded for this contest will be separate from any TAC-awarded mission creation awards.

Competition details can be seen at: http://www.emperorshammer.net/competitions/details.asp?ID=856

Send all questions and entries to LC Todbringer, MAJ Artyis and AD Proton at todbringer@poczta.onet.pl, artyis@silvershark.com.pl and hullbreach@warpmail.net.
