Wing III Wing Report for October 10th through October 20th, 2003.

Hey everyone! Welcome to my first Wing Report! I'm still getting used to the format, so if there's something I've left out, let me know. I'm alsol getting used to my nice comfy WC's chair (it has a cupholder!) and auditioning girls for the new harem, so this report has been somewhat delayed. At least I'm not having communications problems though!

WING NEWS

Aleth Squadron has been re-opened and is full of new personnel. Welcome to Wing III guys! I hope you'll enjoy your time here.

Great news to all of us veterans, COL Aeishline Strathaven has returned to duty in Aleth Squadron! Welcome back Ash!

CM Pokemaster has taken the position of Ravager Squadron Commander in Wing XX on the ISD Subjugator. Congrats Poke and good luck! Heh, since you're no longer a Sov pilot, I hereby challenge you to a battle or free mission of your choice. This one's for the Killboard!

I have appointed MAJ Keller of Gimel Squadron as my Executive Officer. He'll be in charge of things should I have communications problems on short notice, like if my internet goes down late on a Friday and the tech monkeys don't wanna fix it until Monday. He will be A-WC if I go on leave and don't specify someone else, though that shouldn't happen often.

As I stated in an e-mail I sent out earlier today, the old zip files are located on a server (read the Fleet News to find the link) until the 1st of January. You have three and a half months or so to get EHBL working. You can e-mail the SCO, CA:SCO and TAC for help with any problems you might have. Do let me know, too. I may be able to help out somewhat. Make sure to specify what OS, game, game version, and general system configuration that you have.

It did take a while, but I do see some interest in the Hey Squadron Commander position. Anyone interested should send me an application. My requirements for the job are:

1. Pass SM/2 or SM/3 with 90% or better
2. Be able to respond to e-mail within 24 hrs
3. No HCI convictions within the past twelve months

If you're insane, it helps. :P

Hmm... I think that about covers all the Wing News I can think of right now. Heh, strange. I'm not actually used to writing the Wing News other than "Read the next Wing Report." :P

Yes, we have reached the mid-point, turn 15 of 30. So far all teams have played rather cautions, with only one small skirmish (a Corvette on the Sovereign side was pounced on by an entire Battlegroup!). The last few days have seen lots of sightings of enemies, so I expect some battles real soon. Keep looking for more details as they come.

After long discussion with Fleet Commander, we have agreed to place old .zips on one of the mirrors. They are all located at: http://battles.tiecorps.net/old/. All people who have EHBL problems can download them now

But. This mirror is going offline at 1st January 2004, so after that time you will only have .ehm files and you WILL HAVE TO use EHBL. You have 3.5 months to solve any EHBL problems you encounter. Mail TAC, SCO, CA:SCO and we will help you.

So. You have .zips back, make EHBL working on your computers, and .zips are going offline on January 1st.

MISCELLANEOUS

Well, I've just recently come into possession of a copy of Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. I haven't gotten too far into it yet, but dear God is it beautiful. The lighting in that game is incredible. The sound too. The weapons fire has a distinctly improved sound to it. The story is fairly similar to the first game, you get setup for something you didn't do and bloodshed in large amounts follows. I'm going to have noise violations up the yin-yang for a good while...>:) Four hundred watts of speaker system will do that.

I think that covers everything for this first week. Hope this report is complete enough.
