- WING NEWS -

Hello ladies and gentlemen!
Well, it seems like I survived my first month of Wing Commander and I must say that part of the merit is of the good and active pilots

By the way, this week two veterans of Wing XIV have returned home. I'm very happy to announce the return to the Intrepid of MAJ Blade and COL Phantom! Both of them have joined Cobra Squadron and Phantom herself is the new Cobra Squadron Commander, congratulations! Thanks to everyone who applied for the position, all submissions were very good and despite Phantom's command experience it was a hard decision for me. Blade and Phantom aren't the only new arrivals, this week SL Big Poppa K and SL S 4Patas (hehe, nice name guys!) have joined the Intrepid coming from Platform Daedalus. Everyone gives a warm welcome to the fresh Sub-Lieutenants!

Big congratulation to CPT Jedi Eclipse on his well deserved promotion to the rank of Major and more congratulations to our Commodore on his promotion to Vice-Admiral, drinks are on Jedi and Frodo! CPT Justin (aka Mr. J) is probably the TC officer with the longest ID line now, in fact our Viper Commander is the new TACA (Tactical Assistant) so he is now CMDR-TCT-TCS-TAC/CPT Justin...duh, he does likes titles! :-)

Even for this week our best Multiplayer pilot has been CM Machinari of Copperhead: he has received not 5, not 10, but 20 LoCs reaching the Combat Rating of Veteran 2nd. Way to go Mach! Also, I wish to commend our most active SP pilots: CM Sabbath and CM Spade from Copperhead Squadron) and CPT CrimsonFury, LCM Arid Foxtrot and CPT SavageAz from Krayt Squadron. Keep up the good work!

Competitions: tomorrow is the deadline for the Wing Ladders. Machinari is leading the XWA ladder with 9 points and MAJ Delak is 2nd with 5 points. CM Spade is first in the XvT ladder but Mach is only 3 points behind. However the most important competition right now is the XvT Week of War held on Battlestats, sign up and fly for the Emperor's Hammer! You can be sure that pilots who will fly more WoW matches will be generously rewarded by the WC or COM (or even the BGCOM if they really rocked :p) so fly, fly, fly!

Communications: I wish to remind you all that we have a cool website at http://intrepid.tiecorps.net/ that you should check our at least twice a week for news, we have a Wing XIV forum at http://theholo.net/mb/viewforum.php?f=55 where EVERYONE can post and if you use IRC you can pay a visit to your Wingmates in channel #wingxiv (Undernet servers), we are open 24/7 :-)

Old battles

 After long discussion with Fleet Commander, we have agreed to place old .zips on one of the mirrors. They are all located at: http://battles.tiecorps.net/old/. All people who have EHBL problems can download them now

But. This mirror is going offline at 1st January 2004, so after that time you will only have .ehm files and you WILL HAVE TO use EHBL. You have 3.5 months to solve any EHBL problems you encounter. Mail TAC, SCO, CA:SCO and we will help you.

So. You have .zips back, make EHBL working on your computers, and .zips are going offline on January 1st.
