Greetings,
pilots of the ISD Intrepid. This has been a good week for us! All the Imperial Security Medals and Palpatine Crescents for December MWE have been awarded and I'm rather impressed by their amount, to read the full list scroll down to the "medals" table. Congratulations to all officers that received a merit award for their good performance and remember that there are still few Bronze Stars that need to be awarded as soon as Commodore Frodo will return from his extended Leave of Service. Moreover we had two rank promotions: LCM Starburst of Copperhead squadron has been promoted to the rank of Commander and SL Rax Von-Klug, the newest pilot in the Wing, has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Congratulation both of you! Unfortunately CPT SavageAz and LT Jay Pliskin had to move to Reserves due to new unexpected real life duties, anyway both of them promised to come back to the Intrepid when they will have more spare time in the meanwhile I wish you the best of luck for your new RL jobs. Like a mentioned shortly before, a new pilot joined Wing XIV and Krayt squadron, if you haven't done so, please give a warm welcome to LT Rax Von-Klug. This also means our numbers are almost steady and even if I'm happy with the current Wing roster I think some extra recruitment effort wouldn't hurt us ;-) SavageAz transferred to Reserves but the "Beat the COM's Protector" competition goes on. Round #1 ended yesterday and the following people beat Az High Score: LT S 4patas, LCM Hunterwolf, CM Apophis Kuma, CM Arid Foxtrot and MAJ CrimsonFury, well done! And the mission for Round #2 is XvT-FREE #30. The COM's Protector score this time is 44,449 points and you have until Saturday to submit your pilot files. Good luck and have fun! Then there are some great news from the COO Office: the Emperor's Hammer XvT/XWA multiplayer ladders have been reopened and they are being hosted by Battlestats so every pilot can have an updated situation about his stats (w/l matches, kills, deaths, percentages etc..), if you already have a BSC account just start to play otherwise visit the COO homepage at http://combat.tiecorps.net and read the Battlestats guide. More details in the Competitions section, below. Of course congratulations to all pilots who were awarded LoCs during the past week: CPT Adam Szydlowski, CPT Tvan'Oris, LT Rax Von-Klug, CM Arid Foxtrot and CM Kakihara. On the Single-Player side i'm pleased to have received so many BSF notifications especially from LCM Hunterwolf and LT KramCola, congratulations on being the most active Single Player pilots of the week. Ok, that is all for now. Continue to be active, stay in contact with your fellow pilots and give a try to the thing called "Multiplayer" because it's very fun even if you lose and because the upcoming WC'sOwn title for the month of January will be based on a MP competition. Cya everyone and remember that if you have any question or suggestion my mailbox is open 24/7! |

New COMM appointed 02:52 - SA Astatine [jpboyce@indigo.net.au] Congratulations to AD Turtle who has been appointed COMM. We look forward to seeing some outstanding work from him in the position. New Internet Guideline Enacted 21:33 - HA Ari [ari@tiecorps.org] As of January 8, 2004 at 12:00 AM, the Internet Officer has enacted a new Internet Guideline rule regarding user databases in EH sites: "Any website with a user database that contains passwords MUST encrypt the passwords. This may be a one-way hash (highly preferable), or an encryption using a key. The Internet Officer reserves the right to request a database dump (or any other verification method) to verify compliance. Anyone who refuses to comply after being warned may be brought to the Security Officer on charges. " This rule has been enacted due to a rising concern of password security within the Emperor's Hammer at large. Please note that EVERY EH-related site is bound by the rules set forth in the Internet Guidelines (http://www.ehnet.org/guidelines.php). Users of SquadFirst+ need not worry, since the one-way hash is handled within the code. The Internet Officer herein sets a period of 2 weeks in order to comply with the new guideline. As of January 22, 2004 at 12:00 AM all websites containing user databases will be presumed to be compliant and the Internet Office staff reserves the right to request a database dump, as well as any other methods deemed necessary to verify compliance. A lack of compliance will result in a warning being issued with one additional week to comply. |
