- WING NEWS -

Hello everyone!
This has been a good week for us. First off I wish to welcome three new pilots who recently joined Cobra Squadron, they are CM Shikie, CM Kakihara and LT Calista FairBright. Welcome aboard and congratulations to COL Phantom for her recruitment skills! Second off I'm glad to announce that we had four promotions during the past week. Congratulations to SL Big Poppa K, SL S 4patas and SL Dark Mike on their promotions to the rank of Lieutenant! And congratulations to the newest Major in the Wing: of course I'm talking about Krayt Squadron Commander, CrimsonFury! If I'm not wrong Crimmy still haven't paid any drink to us so I hereby order that all drinks for the next week are on the noob-MAJ! :-)

Now, I ask you all to step up and salute CPT Tvan'Oris of Diamondback who few days ago has broken the 3,000 FCHG mark and has reached the FCHG rank of Imperator! In the whole Fleet there are only 5 Imperators and this is one of the three most prestigious titles (along with Top Gun and Baron) a pilot may aim at. I'm honoured to have been the CMDR of TvanO'ris and now to be his Wing Commander, congratulations Tvan! Moreover, I wish to congratulate with CM Zhaim Jifarr that, with 1006 FCHG points, reaches the rank of Gladiator. Superb work!

Even this time the overall flying activity has been rather good and I'm happy to see BSFs coming from every squadron, however the Multiplayer activity is still too slow. This week only CM Machinari, LT Big Poppa K and CPT Drako have participated to #ehcoc competitions so well done you three and congratz to Mach and Poppa K on your victories but...where's the rest of you? Do not forget that we are part of the Aggressor Strike Force, actually we are the ASF Flagship so you all should try to have a Multiplayer match at least once a week. Trsut me, it's fun even if you lose and you should not lose motivation if you can't win: I sux bad at MP still playing a lot of matches I managed to get 72 LoCs and 3 DFCs!

A good way to leanr Multiplayer is to play side-by-side with veteran pilots and you can do that participating in the Intrepid Realistic Combat competition. Since I still have to receive a single submission I will extend deadline to next Sunday. Also, I'm creating a brief tutorial on how to play Co-Op and Combat missions in XvT and this should be uploaded by tomorrow.

However, right now we have another very important competition where you all should participate. It's the Beer Cup, the multiple platforms flying competition where the ISD Intrepid and ISD Vanguard join Forces to fight the SSSD Sovereign. Battles to fly are XvT-TC 75, XWA-TC 24 and TIE-TC 211 and deadline is 30th November. Now, Sov pilots say they are better than us and they will annihilate us! Does anyone have suggestions on how to show how totally wrong they are? Personally I have this idea about flying all three battles, getting good scores and slapping their big ego with a "Intrepid Owns Ya" sign :-)

There were only few medals awarded even during the last week, but I've just submitted my Monthly Wing Evaluation so expect some shining news very soon.

Before to end I just want to remind you all that the Intrepid has a registered IRC channel on Undernet server, #wingXIV. You all are invited to join and share your thoughts with your Wingmates. Then there's the Wing forum here and our cool webpage at http://intrepid.tiecorps.net/. Be sure to check those pages at least once in a week!

 EH Ship Patch for XvT has been released thanks to hard work of Sco staff, so now you can all fly XvT-TC #28 again :)

 Today saw the release of the "Emperor's Hammer Ship Patch" for XvT. This patch adds the B-Wing, TIE Defender, Missileboat, System Patrol Craft, Scout Craft, Container Transport, Medium Transport, Modified Corvette, Modified Frigate, Passenger Liner, Carrack Cruiser, Light Calamari Cruiser, Communications Relay, Sensor Array, Astromech, Probe Capsule, Gunplatform, Large Gunplatform, Laser Battery and Pilot to XvT. It also changes ranks and awards to a EH theme.
The patch can be installed together with other patches and kept installed permanently as it does not replace any existing Craft. It does however replace the B-W, T/D and MIS patches. (As does its BoP counterpart)
This concludes the series of EH Ship Patches, which means that all craft of TIE are now available for XvT and BoP while all craft from BoP are now available for TIE95. :)

- COMPETITIONS REPORT -

Intrepid Combat Patrol:
Start Date: 10/27/2003
End Date: 11/09/2003

Mission Used: XvT Free #73

Medals to be awarded: IS-SW to all members of winning Team, IS-BW to all members of 2nd Team.

Details: Fly XvTF-73 in Co-Op mode, it's up to CMDRs whether to stick to Flights roster or create mixed Teams (i.e. 1 pilot from Flight I and 2 pilots from Flight III) but each Team must have either 2 or 3 pilots (for obvious reasons 1 pilot Teams aren't allowed!). Once a Team has completed the mission ALL pilots of that Team must send me their ZIPPED pilot file and a screenshot showing the mission scores. The total score of a squadron will be calculated summing the Teams score.

2003 Beer Cup:
Start Date: 11/1/2003 
End Date: 11/30/2003 
Parties Involved: Intrepid, Vanguard and Sovereign 

Missions/Battles Used: TIE TC 211, XvT TC 75 and XWA TC 24

Medals to be Awarded: IS-GW, IS-SW and IS-BW to the top three pilots on each side, in each division.

Details: Sovereign vs Vanguard + Intrepid in TIE, XvT and XWA single-player battles. Top 30 pilot files on each side count toward the results in each division. Overall score of these top 30 scores per division determines the winner(s). Note: XvT division is Top 15 files. TIE scoring is laserless. Time of the comp: Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. Medals: The usual, IS-GW, IS-SW, IS-BW to top three in each division on each side. If you can only fly one or two battles, its fine! Just fly as many of them as you can! Participation is the key, and if you can, of course, go for the HS! Send all the Pilot files to COM Frodo and your Squadron Commander. CMDRs, send it to me and Frodo.
