| SHIP/WING NEWS |

After being out of action for a few weeks due to moving to Germany, the WC is now back in action and things should get a
little more normal again :) We've also seen the administrative removal of CPT Lanidet Tobri from his CMDR spot. This decision was made for several reasons by Bubba, and I have backed his decision. CM Ric Gravant was chosen by Bubba to replace him, however, he has resigned today as well due to other committments. As such, the squadron is now open to applications, you can find the detials on the either the TC, TCBG, or Recruitment MB if you are interested A reminder about the Wing Standing Orders (which are now included in this report)...if you are a member of this wing, you will follow these standing orders. I've been getting very serious with the Commander's, ask them if you don't believe me :). I've also issued several directives to the Commander's, regarding communication, recruiting, squadron websites, etc. Just a reminder that MSEs are due on the 26th (yes, thats tomorrow). Lets get them all in on time, since we can't seem to get our WSRs in on time. |

| Overall, the wing had an up and down time while I was away, and I'm definately glad to be back online like normal. I've gotta few ideas for some competitions coming up, more information should be available this week. For now, everyone take part in the new competition this week, and theres still two days left on the RelvsChal competition, everyone go take part! |

The 'Thorin Comes Aboard' series of competitions was a bit of a bomb, no one participated in any of them, but that may have
been caus no one was advertising them, and the Rel-vs-Chal comp was going on too, so, Thorin Comes Aboard closes with no
entries :( Rel-vs-Chal is still going on for another two days, I'd like to see some participation in that arena. And, lastly, as I STILL want a new Wing IX Banner, I give you: A simple banner competition, open to all members of the wing. To participate, simple create a new banner for Wing IX, and send it to thorin@corporatesector.net. |

| WING ACTIVITY |
| There seems to be a general lull in the Wing right now, which I'm addressing almost daily with the Commander's. I'm pushing the commanders hard to get themselves in gear, set examples for their squadrons, and to overall re-motivate them. Hammer appears to be in better shape then the rest of the Squadrons, with 9 members. La'an is trying hard with Crossbow but recieving little cooperation. I couldn't tell you about Shield, since the Commander dosen't want to send reports. As for Sword Squadron, the changes in leadership will likely have a negative effect on the Squadron, which I'm hoping we can minimize with careful supervision. |

| STANDING ORDERS |

By Order of Major Thorin Oakenshield, all personel in Wing IX will read and obey these standing orders. Failure to abide by
these orders may result in removal from your position, demotion, or being HCIed, depending on the nature of the offense. Any
questions about these standing orders should be directed to the Wing Commander, MAJ Thorin Oakenshield. -ALL MEMBERS- Weekly Contact At the very minimum, all members of the Wing will make contact with thier direct superior at least one time per week, VIA EMAIL. This is the very minimum to be considered active in Wing IX. If you intend to be off of the internet for more then (5) days, email your Commander and let him or her know as a common courtesy. If you are taking a Leave of Abscense more then ten (10) days, notify your Commander -AND- the Wing Commander via email. -SQUADRON COMMANDERS- Weekly Squadron Reports (WSRs) WSEs will be submitted NLT 0600 Eastern Standard Time (-5:00 GMT) each Friday by email to the Wing Commander, Your Squadron, and the Wing IX Email List. Monthly Squadron Evaluations (MSEs) MSEs will be submitted to the Wing Commander NLT the fourth to last day of the month. I.E. if there are 31 days in the Month, your MSE will be submitted by midnight on the 27th. If there are 30 Days, the 26th, and so on. Wing IX Roster You will ensure that your squadron roster is upto date on the Wing Website before you submit your weekly report. Your roster should match that of the Tie Corps exactly by the time the Wing Commander reads your report (unless the TieCorps site does not yet reflect a change, such as a promotion, etc). AWOLs / MIAs / Reserve Requests If you have found a pilot to be AWOL (no contact in 30 days), or MIA (bad email address), or a pilot has requested to go the reserves, you WILL NOT make the database request yourself. Forward the relevant information to the Wing Commander, who will verify the information, and make one last effort to 'save' the pilot before he or she is removed from the wing. This is NOT to take authority away from the CMDRs, but to allow the flags to ensure that a pilot really wants to leave. A good example is a pilot whos pissed off at his CMDR and has requested the reserves, when it's entirely possible the pilot would be happy in another squadron. Flight Leaders EVERY Flight Leader position in the Wing will ALWAYS be filled. If your Flight Leader leaves the squadron for whatever reason, you will appoint a new Flight Leader immediately. The Flight Office requires that all three flights have a leader in order for new pilots to be placed in that Squadron. We will not miss any opportunity for new pilots! Designated XO Every Squadron will have a designated XO. This person will know what he or she needs to do in the event that you are unable to come online, specifically in the area of filing a report for you. |
