Wing One Report #5

Local News

Round two of the SP Ladder has concluded and we've flown nine submissions (Twelve including the overturned mission). Not quite awesome, but still pretty good :) Congratulations to J'lek for not only flying in every division, but snatching the equal highscore in XvT. Very nice.

This has been a very, very draining week behind the scenes. While my proposals are currently being reviewed by the Flight Office and SovCOM, I am glad to report the the FO has indicated that he does not intend to close the wing at this time. He specifically cited our activity level as the reason - which shows you just how important being active around here is. We've staved off deactivation for the time-being, so congratulations. :) Over the next few weeks we should capitalise on this opportunity.

A big welcome to SL Exar! Both myself and Tirna contacted him during his training period and it's great to see the ranks being bolstered. We need to see more of this :) As for Exar, you'll have a lot of fun around here, regardless of which squad you're assigned to ;-)

The Wing One Gutterball Competition is go! More details in the Competition section. You're playing for pride, you're playing for medals - you're also playing for this;

The Wing One Gutterball Crown... FEAR! ;)

TC News

- The TAC in his awesomeness has uploaded all of the primary TIE Corps mission editors to the 'Important Links' section of his reports.
- The TAC has also started the IRON MISSION CREATION COMPETITION! Sounds Tasty.
- As you've all noticed, the MoC has been revamped, more details on the news page.
- We also need a new OPS.

More details on any of the above can be found at http://www.ehtiecorps.org/news.asp

- Limited IRC activity

Competitions

Wing I Gutterball Competition!

End Date: 4th April
Missions/Battles: None. Gutterball Program Required. http://www.skunkstudios.com/gutterball2/
Medals: Iron Star Silver Ribbon ot highest score, Iron Star Bronze Ribbon to second highest score.
Huh?: Following the success of the Torus Trooper Competition (ID 1776) the Wing Commander has augmented the simulators with a new piece of software. The pilots think it's a bowling simulator. To the Wing Commander, it's the perfect way to access pilot accuracy and control. Pilots need to send a screenshot of their results to the Wing Commander to be considered for the reward, as this is a pilot evaluation exercise.
Why?: It's fun :P It also helps me evaluate your pilot skills. Really. I promise :P It's also a way to be active without flying. If you aren't interested in flying - these sorts of comps are required activity.

Participatants: Kahooli, Zirus*, Hunter

* Multiple Submissions!

The Winner of this competition can add "WING ONE GUTTERBALL CHAMPION" under their ID Line in all Wing communications (including mailinglist), and can also display a 50 x 50 version of his crown in the same place.

Sov SP Ladder Competition - Round Three

Promotions and Medals

None this week. Without an OPS, it's tricky to award medals :P

Summary

Very, very well done. The SP Comp submissions are solid, interest in the Gutterball comp is pretty good (it is fun, try it!) and we have a new member that we can all pran- er, welcome to the wing! Keep helping those cadets, we need every hot hand we can get!

Yours in Service,
