STRYKER'S STORY
    In the main hangar of the ISD Vanguard, Lieutenant Colonel Jer Stryker hunched over behind the starboard solar panel of his Tie Advanced, the Stryker's Vengeance.  He was inspecting every nook and cranny, every square inch.  He wanted to be sure that everything was in top shape for the upcoming fleet exercises.  One last inspection of his blue neons, spinning thrusters, and quadruple subwoofers confirmed that, as always, the Stryker's Vengeance was the most well-kept and pimped out fighter on the Van.
    Across the hangar, Stryker's brother Draiff was not so lucky.  Jer came over to the Tie Interceptor Dark Flame to lend a hand.  "Well, did you figure out what the problem is?" asked Jer.
    "Yeah, finally," said Draiff.  "It's the laser coolant.  The dynamic radiant-osmosis thermal compressor is out."
    "I hate it when that happens," said Jer.  "Well, better order a new one.  I can't have you sit idly by while the rest of us fight bad guys.  While you wait for it, why don't you take the Stryker's Pride II over to the Imperial Academy and take a couple courses?"
    "That's not the mailbox one, is it?  I can't keep track of all your ships," quipped Draiff.
    "No, that was the Stryker's Laughingstock.  I had to get rid of it unfortunately.  The Pride II is my new YT-2400."
    "Ooohh," said Draiff.  "Well, I guess a little joyride would be fun.  I'll go preflight it now."
    "Just make sure you learn something there this time, Draiff," said Jer.  "Last time the only thing you had to show for your trip to IWATS is a bunch of angry transmissions from various Command Staff members regarding the way you played all their daughters."
    As Draiff preflighted the Stryker's Pride, Jer headed over to the Assault Gunboat Tilion, where Commander Jori Carcharoth was finishing a minor tune-up.  "Jori," said Jer, "sometimes I envy that you're a cyborg.  You can work so much more efficiently."
    "It's pretty nice sir," said Carcharoth.  "Except for when noWedge plays tricks on me with those Gungan Ion balls he smuggled off Naboo."
    "I can imagine," replied Jer, perplexed.  "Say, speaking of noWedge.  I haven't seen him around lately, have you?"
    "I think he's in his quarters, sir," said Jori.  "He's been pouting all week because they changed the wallpaper in the ready room."
    "Well that's a fine show of attitude by our best pilot," Jer said dryly.
    Just then a shuttle landed in the hangar, escorted by a pair of Interceptors.  "Ah," said Jer, "this must be our new Wing Commander."
    Jori and Jer stood at the base of the landing plank, as a Polish man with no INPR emerged from the shuttle, wearing the bars of a Lieutenant Colonel.  Jori beat Jer to the brown nosing, "Welcome on board the Vanguard, sir.  I'm Commander Jori Carcharoth, Flight 2 Leader for Hornet Squadron." he said.
    "Greetings Carcharoth.  I'm Lieutenant Colonel Mayk Wolverine."
    "Greetings and welcome aboard, sir," said Jer. "I'm Jer Stryker, the Commander of Hornet."
    "Nice to meet you as well, but you can drop the 'sir' and just call me 'Wolvie'."
    "Not with a straight face, sir," said Jer.
    "Cute Stryker," said Wolverine.  "Now quit messing around and finish the damn report."
   
COMMANDER'S BRIEFING

• Man, I didn't think that story was ever going to end!  It's only been about three days since my last report, but it was a late one.  Nevertheless, I don't have much activity to put in this one, so I thought I'd make up for it by writing a novel.  :P

• Aggressor Strike Force Supremacy Competition VII starts exactly 22 hours from when I'm typing this sentence, or midnight GMT on Friday, and lasts for a month.  Nobody's contacted me this week like I asked you to if you were having problems, so I'm assuming all your gaming platforms are in tip top shape and ready to go.  I've put the rules on our website for easy access.

• Multiplayer is really big in this years SC, and easier than ever to do.  There are ladders set up on http://ladders.minos.net, and you can duel anyone, anytime, in XvT, XWA, or Free Worlds.  You don't have to pre-sign up for the ladders or anything.  Just play a match and the loser reports on the site using your login from the old forums.  To put things in perspective, a Free Worlds mission is worth 1 point in the SC.  A multiplayer loss is worth 4, and a win is worth 10.  That also means that any duels you play against someone in Hornet automatically generate 14 points for the squad.  There are all kinds of other ways to get points, too.  Check them out.

• We have a new message board, which somehow is not as popular as our old message board, despite the fact that it looks way cooler.  Come on guys, let's see some spam!

• Time is running out on our three squadron competitions, with only two weeks remaining.  So far I have not received a single IWATS or free mission entry.  Draiff is currently leading the combat rating race.  Come on guys, this is easy stuff!

• Minos is back, which is nice, since I wasn't looking forward to redoing image links on 50 WSRs.

• Oh, and in case you didn't read that far in the story, we have a new Wing Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mayk Wolverine.
