Lieutenant Colonel Jer Stryker reporting for Hornet Squadron on 01.22.2005, 0230Z

STRYKER'S STORY
    The Tie Advanced Stryker's Vengeance weaved through the frigate's turbolaser fire.  At point blank range, it's pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Jer Stryker fired a pair of advanced concussion missiles at its port-side turbolaser turret, disintegrating it with a satisfying explosion.  "Man, I love doing that!" said Jer.
    "Nice shot, sir," said Captain Grimlock, his wingman, as he went for his own assault on the frigate's warhead launcher.  One piece at a time, the frigate was losing it's defensive capabilities.
    "You're all clear, two flight," said Jer.
    "Roger that Hornet One," said Commander Jori Carcharoth, as his flight of three assault gunboats launched a volley of heavy rockets at the New Republic frigate.  They impacted with a brilliant fiery fireball.
    "Bea-you-tee-full!!" said Lieutenant Drazhar.
    "Three flight, how are you doing on fighter suppression?" asked the squad leader.
    "Do you really have to ask?" said Draiff Stryker.  "noWedge gets all the fun.  He even shot all the ejected pilots out from under me."
    Their conversation was cut short as a squadron of A-Wings hypered in.
    "A-Wings! Yes!" said Draiff, as he cranked the stereo in the Dark Flame.
    "It's like a free bonus or something," said Optimus.
    Carcharoth fired a couple of ion bolts at noWedge's Tie Interceptor so that his lasers would have less effect, thereby preventing him from hogging all the A-Wing kills.  He still ended up getting six, while the other Hornet pilots got one apiece.
    "Man, I love fragging A-Wings," said Grimlock.
    "Roger that," said Jer.  "I think that's everyone.  Job well done guys.  Back to the Vanguard."
    The seven fighters of Hornet Squadron formed up and hypered out, leaving their standard calling card of destruction and debris in their wake.
   
COMMANDER'S BRIEFING

• Well SCVII is on, the most important time of year on the Vanguard, and ....where are you guys???  Only four of the seven of us have done anythingso far.  I really don't want to have to AWOL three people...I really don't.  Especially since you all have been with us so long and have become a part of the Hornet culture.  There are so many things you can do.  Check out all the rules here.

• Ok.  I have a confession to make.  Those 133 points I got for SCVII?  I got them all between Saturday and Monday.  I spent the rest of the week playing Half-Life 2.  Oh, man!  What a spectacular game!  I'm still debating whether it surpasses Tie Fighter for my #1 game of all-time.  But I've beaten it now, so I expect to get more than 133 points next week.

• The best thing you can do for SCVII is fly multiplayer on the ladders.  All you have to do is go into #ehcoc or #isd_predator and ask if anyone wants a match.  You can get so many points that way!  If you have any questions about how to go about this, email me.

• Grimlock made a new Hornet Banner, using the old one, which you can see below.  He also posted a new question of the month.

• Speaking of which, I'd like to see more activity on the new forum, even if it's spam.  Remember, it's more afraid of you than you are of it.
