Kappa Squadron Weekly Report -------------------------- "If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace." -Thomas Paine Good day Kappans. This is my first report as CMDR, and I suppose there is a lot of stuff to lay out. It was with great sadness that I learned of Zyrax's removal. He was a great CMDR, and a great friend. I will keep in touch and I hope to see him return at some point during my tenure. That being said, I am looking forward to a fun, productive time with all of you. I could not possibly hope to fill the shoes of the kegendary men who have sat in this chair over the years. People like Tempest, Algaron, and Astarosta simply cannot be equaled. I will simply do my best, and let the chips fall where they may. Now, on to other subjects. *Squadron News* -------------- - With my appointment as CMDR, the Flight Leader spot for the third flight is open. I suppose I could just assign somebody to the position, but I like to flex my administrative muscle, so Im going to open it up to applications. Doesnt have to be anything fancy, just tell me why you would like it, and how you could contribute to the Squadron. I realize everybody is a little busy during this season, so the deadline will be January 10th. - I'm goin to need some help in the maintance of the squadron, so I'm asking for people to tell me what they are good at. I need somebody to help me with the Kappa website, so HTML mastery is a must. Basically thats a call for the webmaster. Duties would include updating the site on a weekly basis to include the new WSR, and the first major project would be overhauling the Kappa History Page. On that same note, we need somebody who is willing to review some old WSR's and write the Zyrax years. I can if I need to, but if somebody else is willing, just let me know. Other posts could include a new Cadet Assistance Officer, and an XO. More on that as things progress. - KAPS (Kappa Actice Participation System) will be making a comeback. Only a couple of us are old enough to remember the Algy days, but it is a system to help keep track of your activity. I hope to have the rubric posted by the next WSR. Also, look for the return of the weekly Kappa meeting... - In keeping with the holiday spirit, I am giving you all a brief shore leave, effective immediately and extending to the first of January. But, there is a small catch, see below - If you are wondering what to get Shimir for Christmas, I could really use a new uniform. *Standing Orders* --------------- - As I said before, you all have shore leave. I am however, asking for a brief piece of fiction from all of you. It can be relatively short (even poetry) and just must detail what you did on your shore leave. Can be of any genre, just make sure it incorperates the TIE Corps in some way. Have them into me by January first, pereferably in rtf format. If you can't do that, just go ahead and copy and paste it into an email. Who knows, if its exceptionally good I just may throw a shiny your way. Consider it an informal AWOL check. - Zethy is running a fun little comp for the hollidays. You have to write Christmas wishes related to the Wing and send them to him. Winner gets an IS-SR so get festive darnit! Send submissions to ml.cb2001@freenet.de and CC me so I can record your activity. Deadline is the 31st. - Bruk needs some humbling, so that might be right around the corner for him. Keep sharp in the cockpit, and lets see if we can give him a run for his money. Stay posted for more info. - Keep your Ion engines toasty for some serious dogfighting. I have a plan in the works that will test us all, and could redefine Kappan History. We will all need to be in top form (that means no running off for CMDR spots, Elite Squadrons or OPS jobs *cough* Bruk and Temp *cough* Stay tuned. - Have a great holiday season everyone! *Activity* _________ 1-1 Shimir Sheerelk- 12-17 Assumed CMDR position 1-2 Mauler Mithel- On Leave 1-3 Thud Asphalt- Challenged me to get him active. *Shimir gets his Electric Bantha Prod* 2-1 Brukhar No word from him, but hes bound to be doing something 2-2 Raziel No Word 2-3 Skalpadda No Word 3-2 Tempest No Word *Squadron Roster* --------------- FLIGHT I - MISSILE BOAT Nickname: Wyvern Flight Motto: potius mori quam foedari (Death before Dishonour) 1) CM Shimir Sheerelk 2) LT Mauler Mithel 3) LT Thud Asphalt 4) TBA FLIGHT II - MISSILE BOAT Nickname: Gryphon Flight Motto: virtute et armis (By Valour and Arms) 1) LCM Brukhar 2) LT RazieIL 3) LCM Skalpadda 4) TBA FLIGHT III - TIE DEFENDER Nickname: Midgard Flight Motto: mors ipsa nos refugit (Death itself flees us) 1) TBA 2) LC Tempest 3) TBA 4) TBA *Fleet News* ----------- Important Changes and Rewards After ten years of hard work in founding and leading the club, GA Ronin has announced his intention to retire as Fleet Commander. TO banner competition Because we're changing all communication and security systems in the Training Office, I've decided, that my office needs a new banner. The current one is old and doesn't reflect the changes that occured in the Training Office. I want something new, something flashy, something what I would be proud of. If you think you can provide me that, what I want, here are some details: - dimensions Banner should be about 460 pixels wide and 60 pixels high. - size Not bigger than 25 kb. - awards 1st place: IS-PR(TC)/SotGV(CD)/GN (DB)/IO (HF)/AS-PR (IS)/VC (IW)/GP (BHG)/MoS-DR (DIR) 2nd place: IS-GR(TC)/SotGM(CD)/SN (DB)/CoD (HF)/AS-GR (IS)/CBV (IW)/SP (BHG)/MoS-PR (DIR) 3rd place: IS-SR(TC)/SotV(CD)/BN (DB)/SoH (HF)/AS-SR (IS)/WRC (IW)/LC (BHG)/MoS-GR (DIR) All submissions are to be sent to me (to@emperorshammer.org) with topic "TO Banner". Deadline is 30th of December. Updated battles The following battles have been updated thanks to hard work of Tactical Staff: XWA-TC #19 XWA-TC #33 Visual Basic professor needed Due to HA Ari's recent resignation I'm looking for a new VBS professor. Requirements: - basic VBS knowledge - ability to grade tests at least once a week I will also require weekly reports about your graduates counts. What the PROF position will give to you? You will become a professor, which is a highly responsible and respected position. There are also other benefits, like a nice office in the academic complex on planet Ullyr, additional week of vacation every year and a Gold Star for every 100 graduates. NOTE: It is a part-time position, so you don't have to resign from your current position to become a professor. Applications are to be sent to me (to@emperorshammer.org) with topic "Make me a PROF". I'll be accepting apps only for 2 weeks. 1 Year COO Celebration Ladder! Friday 17 December will mark my 1 year point as Combat Operations Officer. To celebrate this event I will be hosting a MP ladder all weekend at http://www.minos.net/~ssy/ladder/ladder.php/55. Pilots have the opportunity to fly XWA, XVT, and FW in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, or skirmishes. All pilots who participate in this weekend ladder will receive bonus awards (its a secret) for their participation. On top of the bonus awards, pilots will receive LoCs for each win. DFCs will go out for the most wins, most matches, and highest ladder score. I highly encourage all pilots to fly as the rewards will be worth the effort. You can meet in #ehcoc all weekend for matches or flying any of your mates at anytime you choose. You can download fun XWA Skirmishes at http://sarin.minos.net/files/skirmishes.zip. NOTE* THESE LADDERS ARE OPEN NOW! TAKE ADVANTAGE! Multiple LoC Opportunites The Legion of Combat Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross are awarded to individual match winners and competition winners in EH sponsored Multiplayer Events. Pilots have the opportunity to win these awards at FreeWorlds TEs, 24.7 LoC submission at http://combat.tiecorps.net COO Website, ladder competitions at http://ladders.minost.net EH Ladders, and through WoWs hosted at http://www.battlestats.com Battle Stats.
