STRYKER'S STORY
Commander noWedge was in his Tie Interceptor, heading back to the Vanguard after a light afternoon mission of annihilating some undesirable species or other.  He hailed the Van over the radio:  "Vanguard control, this is the [hey, noWedge, name your ship :P], requesting docking clearance."
    "Roger that.  Please stand by.  We're full at the moment.  You'll be cleared to proceed when it's free," came the reply.
    noWedge sighed.  "Probably some bloody trainees undergoing launch/recovery procedures," he grumbled.  However, as noWedge got closer, he saw an odd sight.  A hideously ugly, bulky transport was attempting - poorly - to squeeze into the hangar entrance.  noWedge watched in amazement as the freighter jockeyed back and forth, now and again breaking off its approach entirely for another attempt.  "Whoever's piloting that thing must be either incredibly skilled, or incredibly insane," he said to himself.  Eventually, the freighter found a parking space.
    "Your request to dock is granted.  Please proceed to dock," said the controller to noWedge.
    As noWedge climbed out of his nimble fighter, he joined the others in the hangar bay who had assembled to gawk at this new monstrosity.  "What is that thing?" asked Draiff.
    "It looks like a giant flying mailbox," commented Jori Carcharoth.  Just as Jori finished his sentence, the main entry hatch on the freighter opened....kind of.  The door/ramp extended part way, then siezed for a few seconds, making an incredible groaning sound.  Some banging was heard coming from inside the ship, and the ramp promptly dropped to the hangar deck with a loud crash.  To the horror and disbelief of the onlookers, the captain of this derelict turned out to be none other than Jer Stryker.  Lieutenant Colonel Airyu walked up to him.
    "Stryker!" said the WC, "What in blazes is this thing?  And who said you could take it near the ship?"
    "It's an Action IV transport," answered Jer.  "I got a great deal for it down at Stan's Used Ship Emporium.  It has tons of cargo space.  I can make 3 million credits on just one spice run now!"
    "This is getting ridiculous, Jer," said Rear Admiral Justin.  "You're going to have to find something else to do with all the money you're making freelancing.  We're running out of room for all of your ships.  We had to ship off Wasp just to make room for your Marauder Corvette!"
    "The Commodore's right," said Airyu, "You can't just.....HOW much did you say you made on a spice run??"
    "Just under 3 million.  She has no guns and there's a leak in the pressure hull somewhere that I can't nail down.  She may not look like much, but she's a big ugly money factory."
    "I...see," said Airyu, "and...where did you say you got it from again?"
    "Stan's, on Mele-- Corellia.  He's got a whole lot full of them.  Says he found a whole bunch of them near the Kessel Maw."
    "Hmm..." said Airyu, "I think I'll go...out...flying...to.......somewhere.  Paco, watch my penguins."  With that, Airyu lept into his ship and burst out of the hangar bay.
    noWedge turned to Draiff, "I think Justin's going to have to ask the new BGCOM for a bigger Star Destroyer pretty soon."

COMMANDER'S BRIEFING

• Well, the major holidays are coming up over the next couple weeks.  For some, that means more time for flying.  For others it means less.  I'll be on leave from the Tie Corps from December 23 through January 3, more or less, so this is quite possibly the last report of the year.

• Free Worlds is helping tremendously with our squad activity, mainly because it's a fun, addicting game.  I'm going to keep pounding this until you all get it.  Once you try Free Worlds, you'll be hooked.  Ask me, Carcharoth, Draiff, or Airyu.

• Don't forget there are three competitions going on in this squad.  That's three medals up for grabs.  I'm not going to retype all the details here, so just click on this link for more info.  One minor change though, I've extended the IWATS one till the end of January, since it took so long to get approved.  This means the only one that ends December 31 is the free mission one.

• The newly-promoted Lieutenant Colonel Airyu (you know, our Wing Commander) has unleashed some competitions of his own as well, some of them quite unique.  There's the New Wing Banner competition, Raid n' Trade (which is all about Free Worlds), and two Strong Bad Reports competitions.  Also don't forget about the Deck the Mantis fiction competition and the monthly races.  Always plenty to do!  And it's about time to mention that the next ASF Supremacy Competition is coming up.

• Nobody has posted to the run-on in a while.  What's the matter guys?  It's a great story so far!  Someone mess it up!  :P

• There's a Celebration ladder going on, this weekend only, in honor of the COO's 1 year anniversary as...COO.  Play in multiplayer matches in XvT, XWA, Star Wars Galaxies and, of course, Free Worlds.  Victories improve your Combat Rating.  Say, didn't I see a Hornet Competition about that somewhere?

• We have a new Battlegroup Commander, Vice Admiral Gilad Pelleaeon.  He's currently working on setting up some new competitions for the ASF.

• I see most of you have finally updated your uniforms.  I thank you for this.  It makes us look a lot better as a whole.  There are two of you, however, who have not done this yet, and you know who you are.  Please take 30 seconds and do this.  If you need any help, let me know.
