Random Musings:

Well, my first full week as Squadron Commander has been reasonably eventful. We actually had a record for activity this week, with all but one pilot checking in, one AWOL pilot contacted me to explain his circumstances (his PC is toast, and hes loggin on from wherever he can get a connection). Needless to say I am quite amazed and proud that you guys are coming through!

Still, we have one guy who still hasnt checked in, and if he continues this way, his days as a crusader are numbered. =( I dont mean to be a jerk, but this is the way of the beast.

In other news, as I mentioned in this weeks SITREP, we have a new website running temporarily on SquadFirst, but soon to be a new system written from scratch. I have yet to update the link on the roster (will do that with the names/mottos). In any case, if you haven't heard the url is:
http://crusader.oefgaming.us. Furthermore, I have decided to provide FREE OFFICIAL SQUADRON EMAIL to any members of the squadron who shoudl want one. Addresses would be yourname@crusader.oefgaming.us. If you want one, email me about it.

Also, I have set up a TeamSpeak Server and have a channel dedicated to the Squadron. This can be used not only for just anytime chat, but also for your in-game communications during multiplayer matches, etc. Heres the details:

Overview

The position of Security Office requires a subtle balance of skills, specifically in areas of negotiation, conflict resolution and gathering of evidence. The Security Officer is responsible for the upkeep of law and order within the Emperor's Hammer.

Selection Criteria – Essential

1. Good written communication skills
2. An acceptable level of presence in online media such as IRC, message boards, etc.
3. Fast email response time.
4. The ability to work with a range of EH personnel, including the Executive Officer.
5. Experience at some level of command.

Selection Criteria – Desirable

1. Prior or current experience in subgroups
2. Prior or current experience in a similar position

Addressing the Selection Criteria

When addressing the selection criteria, you must supply supporting evidence to back up your claim of meeting the criteria. A generally accepted model is the STAR model, where you outline a Situation, Task, Action and Resolution relating to the criteria. You should meet at least the essential criteria to be considered for the position.

References

You must include at least three (3) references in your application. At least one must be a current or former superior (preferably current). Ensure you have their permission first. If it is found out that you have used someone's name without their permission, your application will be disqualified.

Performance Management

Performance will be evaluated in a number of key areas. These include submission of reports, number of complaints from members, online conduct, achieving tasks and duties outlined in the Training Manual, as well as tasks outlined in the EH Tasks List for this position. Above average performance will be rewarded, while below average performance, if continual, will result in removal from the position.
