• In an extroadinary turn of events, we've had some real activity this week.  Commander Carcharoth has flown 2 free missions!  This means we have a Pilot of the Week again.  Congratulations!

• In other news pertaining to Carcharoth, he was promoted to full Commander last month, and I never mentioned it in a WSR, so congrats to him.  Also, he's decided to take back his old Flight Leader spot.  Excellent!

• We now have two squadron competitions going, for the first time in months!  These comps are a piece of cake, designed specifically to ease you guys back into the swing of things.  I haven't received any entries yet, and the deadline is in 12 days.  Get yourself a medal!  You can read the details of the competitions by clicking on their respective link below, on the Hornet site, or on the message board.  In short, you should have no excuse for not knowing about these competitions.

• If you're wondering what happened to "Stryker's Story" (though none of you have asked), I'm waiting till after the end of our fiction comp, so that I can write stuff that matches.

• In other competition news, the Wing Commander has not yet received any entries for the Hazination Time competition.  This competition consists of only 4 missions, and there's an Iron Star: Silver Wings in it.  Sounds like an easy medal to me!  There are also two wing-wide non-flying competitions, as well as a new ASF Competition that's very "run-of-the-mill."  As always, competition details can be found by clicking on their links in the "Competition Listings" section below.

• The new version of Free Worlds is out, and it's huge and tons o' fun, despite the mouse control.  I'm telling you, you guys who haven't tried it yet (and that's all of you) are really missing out.  At peak times there's over 50 players on the server from all factions of the galaxy.  To play, you need the game Freelancer, which can easily be found for $20 or less in the U.S.  Once again, if you want more info, download the Freelancer demo and/or take the Free Worlds IWATS.

• The run-on is still going guys.  In fact I posted in it just today.  Don't let it gather dust!
