STRYKER'S STORY
On the bridge of the Imperial Star Destroyer Vanguard, a small ceremony was taking place. Rear Admiral Remlinger, flanked by Lieutenant Colonel Justin and Major Stryker, stood facing Lieutenant Matthew Weeks, who was standing proudly at attention.
"Lieutenant Weeks, on behalf of the Flight Office of the Emperor's Hammer Tie Corps, you are hereby promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Congratulations." The newly promoted Weeks crisply saluted the Commodore, and sharply turned on his heel and marched off of the bridge, his path lined on either side by the other members of Hornet Squadron, who then filed out behind him.
"'Bout bloody time," muttered noWedge under his breath, smirking.
"Stow it, Commander," snapped Jer. "For someone who's been bedridden for a month you have a lot of nerve."
"As always, sir," replied the cocky pilot.
"Colonel Sickman," said Stryker as he noticed the vetaran trying to make a quick getaway, "where are you slipping off to?"
"The Tiger's Den.....uh, I mean the simulators!.....no, the Tiger's Den!.....No! I mean the Tiger's Den!.....aw shucks."
"Not just yet," said Jer. "Come on Hornet. Time for briefing."
COMMANDER'S BRIEFING
- Well Hornet, another great week overall. Some of you are really pulling out all the stops for Top Dog, which is excellent, and quite necessary. It looks as though we are currently in second place, though a distant second, behind Echo Squadron, mainly due to their new commander, Major Airyu, who I believe is cheating, because no real commander has time to fly that much. :P
- All the same, I really need to see more activity out of some of you. I know I don't usually bug you guys about this, but remember a couple months ago I said there would be a time when you can really give it your all and make yourselves proud to be in the best squadron on the Vanguard, and proud that everyone else knows it too. Well, that time is August 2004. If you can ever squeeze any time out of your schedule to do something for the Tie Corps, do it now. A list of the rules and points for Top Dog can be found here. (a couple of the rules have changed so be sure to read over it)
- You may have noticed that Hornet has a new look now! This was brought about by Captain Optimus showcasing a new logo he was working on. It was so well received that we decided to retire the orange logo into the annals of history. Kudos to Optimus for all the work he's done (and is still doing) to "enhance" the look of our squadron. It was excellent timing too, as artwork can be submitted as points for Top Dog. By the end of the month, expect to see a new Hornet website as well.
