Airyu: All right, this is a wonderful matchup. Unfortunately, since I'm inexplicably unable to write a halfway decent Grudge Match this week, I'll just leave it to the competitors to hash it out amongst themselves.
Craven: Ok. So all I have to do is shoot that Z-95 practice drone, and I get promoted?
Yutzka (over the comm): Yep.
Craven: But... how do I do that?
Yutzka: Just do it. Damn rookie.
Craven: Ah... uh... *fires the TIE cannons and misses horrendously*
Yutzka: Hey! Check your fire! If you hit the Vanguard one more time, we'll vape your sorry carcass!
Craven: Gwaaah! I don't know, why didn't it hit!? Maybe I'll use a missile! Right! *looks confused* How do I switch to warheads?
Yutzka: Press Alt-E.
Craven: Alt-E... that sounds familiar. Doesn't that eject you?
Yutzka: Nope. It stands for Equip.
Craven: Ok, all right then! *punches alt-e*
Yutzka: Sucker.
Craven: *ejects from his T/I, smacks into the hull of the Vanguard, and goes flying off into space*
Airyu: *sips on a beer* Well, that was pathetic. For our next example, I've loaded up a simple AI program, written by our very own Death Squire, into some of Python's fighters. Namely, Ginji's. *evil grin* Well, here goes nothing. *presses a button*
Ginji: *continues piloting his TIE like nothing happened*
Airyu: What? What went wrong?
Death Squire: Did you put it in the right slot?
Airyu: There's a "right" slot?!?
Death Squire: Yeah. Notice how there's 75 slots, Airyu?
Airyu: Ok, ok! *takes out the card and starts inserting it into random slots*
Death Squire: No! That's the primary control grid for the Vanguard! Don't put it in that slot!
Airyu: *puts it in that slot* Huh? Wha? Crap! *tries to pull it out*
Death Squire: It's no use. That one doesn't release unless you engage a manual override. From the engine room.
Helmsman: Admiral! The Vanguard isn't responding! The controls are operating themselves, sir!
Drax: That's not necessarily a bad thing. You remember what happened the last time you put it in full manual?
Helmsman: Yes, but... this is different. We're on course to crash into a star.
Drax: Just out of curiosity, it isn't Friday today, is it?
Helmsman: I believe it is.
Drax: Very well. Send a team of radiation troopers to the engine rooms at once. And get me my beatin' stick.
MORAL
Just as friendly fire is not friendly, automatic pilot should never be treated as automatic. That title is reserved exclusively for stormtrooper weapons and turbolasers. And the ability of Orioles pitcher Jorge Julio to blow a save. I got nothin'.

BGCOM's LEGATE - This is... something. Basically, do lots of stuff :) It's a reward for the most active pilots in the battlegroup, and a hell of an honor.
THE AGGRESSOR - Khadgar wants to do some thing... it's a publication of ASF-type stuff :) so make graphics and fiction that can eventually go in it. I guess all our SW:CCG cards are going in...
VANGUARD IRONMAN - Just a standard monthly FCHG race. Whoever gains the most gets an IS-SW, runner-up gets an IS-BW
VANGUARD BARON - A Combat Rating race. Whoever gains the most CR points gets an IS-SW, runner-up gets an IS-BW
VANGUARD RECRUITMENT DRIVE - Whoever brings in the most pilots gets an IS-SR, runner-up gets IS-BR
VANGUARD WARZ - Paco has to fly the second mission for this ASAP. W00t.
VANGUARD CCG EXPANSION PACK- Everyone saw what a wonderful job I do creating SW:CCG cards, but I'm all burned out! Now it's your turn. This is a wing-wide competition of my creation... Make as many entries as you like, and send them to me (CC Justin too). The best gets an IS-SR, and the runner-up gets an IS-BR. Fun fun! EXTENDED, cause nobody except Ginji entered.
LAME-ZOR VANGUARD GRAPHICS - Make your best graphic possible about the Vanguard or Wing XV, but here's the catch. You MUST do it in MS Paint. Freehand. If you're on a mac, use your weak bitmap editor. All files must be submitted to me and LC Justin by 9/30. Currently, we've only had one entry, from Frodo. So unless you want him to win, send in some new stuff.
ECHO NEW BANNER COMPETITION - Our banner on the TC database is a little bit old and ghettoed. I'm not a big fan of it, because it looks like it was just ripped from the opening cutscene of TIE Fighter. Plus, it's not really a banner. So you guys are to make a new one for me. Make it pretty, make it cool, make it something you'd write your mom about. The best one, if it's better than the old one, wins. It goes up on the EHTC.org database, and the creator gets an IS-BR.
CITATION RACE - Whoever flies the most battles the fastest to bring in citations gets an IS-BW! Get crackin!
