Airyu: In honor of the Olympics being nearly over, I'm going to match them up against the Top Dog competition.
Serovich: I don't think this is such a good idea, Daisuke...
Airyu: Why not?
Serovich: Don't you think your "archery" thing is a little unbalanced?
Ginji's T/I swoops into the picture at breakneck speed. He lines up a little guy with a bow and arrow in his targeting reticule, and mercilessly vaporizes him.
Ginji: Point :)
Airyu: Okay, okay. He never had a chance. But the pistol sharpshooting one should be-
Serovich: NO! Stop killing the Olympians! They train a long time for this!
Paco stands at one end of a long, dusty corridor in the Vanguard, holster slung to the side. He awaits his opponent, who has a similar holster, but instead has an old-fashioned .22 pistol.
Paco: Draw.
Before the words are out of his mouth, several small pops ring out in the air. His gunbelt, blasted on both sides, falls off. So do his pants.
Airyu: Man, he never had a chance.
Serovich: Does anyone have a chance when you're running the Grudge Match?
Airyu: Of course! Bran Onathes does, he's a 100m high hurdler!
A starting gun sounds, and Bran takes off out of the starting blocks. He's neck-in-neck with the funny-looking Kenyan guy for about the first 8 meters, and then comes the first hurdle. Bran tries to leap over it, but he's not used to the weight of a real rank insignia yet. He falls flat on his face, onto the hurdle, and does a faceplant on the track.
Airyu: He never had a-
Serovich: *tackles Daisuke*
Announcer: Next up, in football, Airyu's Penguins vs. Brazil!
The small black-and-white birds take to the pitch. The game starts however it's supposed to (I'm american and never watch it. be happy that i called it FOOTBALL and not soccer), but in short seconds, all hell breaks loose. The penguins to begin Brazil's best and brightest footballers relentlessly.
Referee: Tweeeet!!! *holds up a stack of red cards*
Penguins: WARK!!!! *rush*
The entire team of penguins pounces on the referee, and tear him limb from limb
Airyu: mmf mmf mmf mmf (He never had a chance. Could you please take this sock out of my mouth? It's time for my event!)
Serovich: *nods* I suppose so.
Airyu: Yes, it's now time for the bathing suit competition. Everyone's seen Michael Phelps' speedo, which is cut so you can see his buttcrack. Well, I think it looks better on me! *pulls down his uniform pants*
Deck officer: Drax, I've got an unidentified object on the scopes...
Drax: It's Friday.
Deck officer: Excuse me?
Drax: It's Friday. That's Daisuke Airyu. Commence firing.
MORAL: If you have a beer belly, you should probably leave the skimpy swimsuits to the pros. And the women.

TOP DOG IS STILL ON - We're holding onto our lead in the competition, but it's starting to slip a little. We need to step it up in the last week of the competition to keep the trophy on its way to us :) It really isn't hard at all to get some points, just go and fly or take IWATS courses, there's plenty of easy ones.
PYTHON TO BE REOPENED - The Vanguard is indeed the biggest ship in the Fleet. Thom Zack has reconsidered going to command Python just yet, so its reopening is on hold for the time being.
BIG PROMOTIONS - Jer Stryker got himself a set of Lieutenant Colonel bars. Rumor has it that he took Sickman's old COL ones, but is just wearing them upside down. Sickman is also a General now.

XO COMPETITIONS - These have all been extended til the end of the month. This is your last chance to do them, there's 3 days left. One of them is the "real story of the database crash", and the others are simple name-stuff comps, which could possibly give you an IS-PR!!! Platinum is shiny! This is easy, go do it! And don't forget to CC me so I can credit you.
BGCOM's LEGATE - This is... something. Basically, do lots of stuff :) It's a reward for the most active pilots in the battlegroup, and a hell of an honor.
THE AGGRESSOR - Khadgar wants to do some thing... it's a publication of ASF-type stuff :) so make graphics and fiction that can eventually go in it. I guess all our SW:CCG cards are going in...
VANGUARD IRONMAN - Just a standard monthly FCHG race. Whoever gains the most gets an IS-SW, runner-up gets an IS-BW

TOP DOG COMPETITION - This is a month-long competition for August. It's almost over, there's still two or three more days where anything can happen... judging errors, or a drastic comeback by Scorpion. Do as much as you humanly can, and you'll get shiny medals. Fly, write fiction, make graphics, make missions, recruit, whatever!
VANGUARD CCG EXPANSION PACK- Everyone saw what a wonderful job I do creating SW:CCG cards, but I'm all burned out! Now it's your turn. This is a wing-wide competition of my creation... Make as many entries as you like, and send them to me (CC Justin too). The best gets an IS-SR, and the runner-up gets an IS-BR. Fun fun! This runs until a little bit into September, cause Justin never sent out an email. Schmuck :P
ECHO NEW BANNER COMPETITION - Our banner on the TC database is a little bit old and ghettoed. I'm not a big fan of it, because it looks like it was just ripped from the opening cutscene of TIE Fighter. Plus, it's not really a banner. So you guys are to make a new one for me. Make it pretty, make it cool, make it something you'd write your mom about. The best one, if it's better than the old one, wins. It goes up on the EHTC.org database, and the creator gets an IS-BR.
