Lieutenant Colonel Jer Stryker reporting for Hornet Squadron on 09.10.2004 0145Z

STRYKER'S STORY
    In the main hangar of the Imperial Star Destroyer Vanguard, the pilots of Hornet Squadron somberly flanked the ramp to the Lambda-class shuttle.  Lieutenant Commander Matthew Weeks walked past his squadmates to the ramp, his gear slung over his left shoulder.  He stopped at the foot of the ramp when he got to the Squadron Commander.
    Lieutenant Colonel Jer Stryker extended his hand.  "Take care of yourself Weeks....and come back some day if you can."
    Silently, Matthew Weeks stepped onto the ramp, turned to face the squadron, and saluted them crisply.  Then he turned around and continued up the ramp.  The rest of Hornet Squadron watched the shuttle lift off from the hangar, bound for Weeks's homeworld of Talus.

COMMANDER'S BRIEFING

• Everyone please keep LCM Weeks and his family in your prayers.  His mother passed away suddenly last weekend.  He has requested transfer to the Reserves.

• Top Dog has ended, and you guys did a great job.  We finished a strong third, and only 21 points behind 2nd place Scorpion.  LCM Weeks finished 2nd in graphics.

• There was no report last week due to me skipping town to miss Hurricane Frances.  Some of my friends are still without power and/or Internet, so I came away lucky from this one.  However, another one could potentially hit where I live early next week, so if I have to go offline or anything I'll try to get word out through Draiff or Drax or something.

• Due to the hurricanes and "Top Dog Burnout" I'm going to be taking it a little easy this month.  However the next things I intend to work on are recruiting some more pilots, helping Opti finish the new site, getting back into Free Worlds, and getting a competition or two going within the squadron.

• CPT Grimlock and I have each been awarded the Commendation of Loyalty in honor of GA Ronin's birthday.
  

• Python Squadron has finally repoened.  We are a full wing again, squadron-wise.

• Due to the hurricane, I missed the second-to-last week of Summer Patrol, which means that none of us in Hornet have finished it.  What a bummer.
